We had a family trip at this resort last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Moon Palace was recommended to us by friends who had their wedding at the resort as I was asking for a place to bring an extended family from ages 8 to 70 and it did not disappoint. Personally I would recommend staying on the Nizuc side (we did not experience the Grand) as it is much quieter and every room has a ocean view, if you stay on the Sunrise side you would likely be facing another building without a significant upgrade. My fiancé and I upgraded to an "ocean view" and although on the 3rd floor the rest of our party had the same view just from the ground floor. The only odd thing was both my parents and sister had double bed rooms which were requested to be King Room\'s and I\'m sure the hotel would have moved them but they aren\'t the type to complain. We were as far away from everything as possible which I guess for some might be the downside of Nizuc but kept it quite and we are not opposed to walking or taking a shuttle which run often. Just be prepared with a daybag if you\'re going to the Sunrise pool which is much larger and a bit more fun I have zero complaints about the resort or its staff and it was great for what we wanted, a family trip. I\'m not sure if I would stay there again as we do not have children so would likely do an adults only or a boutique hotel which is more our style but if you are looking for a group trip with all ages this place ticked all the boxes.

The Moon Palace-Nizuc was a great stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only complaint I have was the prices of items inside the hotel shops. It is an all inclusive, so it is not necessary to purchase items since all drinks, food, towels, etc are included in the stay. Therefore, shopping is an addition and unnecessary. However, I wasn’t expecting the souvenirs, clothing, snacks to be so expensive. This may just be a Cancun thing though. We were not expecting that, as it was our first time in that area.
