Stayed 2 nights

Have stayed at Mansion 10 times since December 2025 and loved it every time except this last time 22 - 25 Oct 2026. The new ownership has taken away all the amenities that made mansion such a unique and special place to stay: No more Happy Hour (4 -5 PM); Checkin changed to 4:00 PM with a $25 charge for every hour you check in earlier; No more tours of Galveston available; no more golf cart to rent to tour Galveston; Breakfast menu changed (no more biscuits and grave) and in January it becomes a continental breakfast; Music in the past was piped in for breakfast - no longer. No more shuttles to cruise terminal and long term parking in front for cruises is no longer authorized - must use one of the local parking venues or get towed; The WIFI is terrible. In the 3 days we stayed there the WIFI worked 10% of the time. Phone number to call for help and after 6 is only an answering service. There is an emergency number to call but does not good. The previous concierge was very knowledgeable on the history of Galveston and made Happy Hour very interesting and one of the reasons we came back - he was fired. The overall ambience of Mansion has totally changed. It is no longer a family friendly place to stay but now just another mediocre business affair.

Beautiful old mansion near port. Needs work. Breakfast included. Happy hour that includes complimentary drinks. No elevator, 3 story, be prepared. Especially if you’re put on the 3rd floor like us.

This is a great B&B, we would stay again, but not in suite 4. It is much too small.
