Western Motel El Centro, CA | Affordable Stay

What guests think

At Western Motel, travelers consistently highlight friendly, accommodating owners and good value, with many finding the simple rooms clean and quiet for a budget stay near dining options and major roads, though the property is older and basic.

Several reviews note small, dated rooms and occasional issues such as lukewarm or limited hot water, TV difficulties, slow drains, lingering odors, or pests, and some say parking is tight. Guests mention minimal extras, but many rooms have working air conditioning plus a fridge and microwave. A solid pick for budget-minded stays when simplicity and price matter more than amenities.

Very cute little spot, the parking spots were pretty bad but the actual room was nice, has A/C, a microwave and a mini refrigerator. My only complaint is when I would take a shower. the water wouldn’t go down until the shower was off, so the water would just be at my feet for a little bit, drained pretty slowly. the people who work there are very very sweet!

Older hotel. The room was really small and the walls were thin. It was clean enough but could be cleaner. Very bare bones. No hair dryer or coffee pot. However the staff were very helpful and friendly and the bed was comfortable. Very affordable rates so this is an okay place if you’re traveling on a budget.

Couch was quite uncomfortable & bathroom floor was visible dirty. Pillows weren't soft. Would have preferred a comfortable chair & reading lamp. Otherwise, for the price, the room was more than adequate, environmentally comfortable & featured large windows with premium shutters. Shower was clean & spacious. Management (Dipi) was exceptionally friendly, accommodating & professional.

As a visiting neurosurgeon in Imperial County to perform “a procedure,” my affiliated practice group secures my travel accommodations. In this instance, I required lodging within “a dozen minute commute” to the hospital facility, and this “simple plain-labeled motel was one option that my group found available that met my distance needs. They generally will never place me in lodging that isn’t both highly “Star-ed,” and does not have visual appeal. The thing that convinced me that I’d make an exception was the “Guest Reviews,” and after experiencing the property, I’m glad to report that those reviews were and are “spot on!” Do consider giving this property a chance, I believe that you’ll leave impressed with the facility.
