At Hilton Garden Inn Gastonia, travelers consistently praise the friendly, helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and a convenient location near restaurants, shopping, and the interstate, creating an easy base for short stays and business trips.

Guests like the lobby bar, outdoor fire pit, ample parking, and gym, though recurring complaints mention a cold or early-closing pool, occasional laundry outages, and dining inconsistencies, including paid breakfast, variable quality, and limited or unavailable service. Cleanliness is frequently rated very high, but a few reviews report lapses such as hair on linens, used towels, dirty floors, and isolated bug issues. Rooms are generally spacious and modern with comfortable beds and large showers, yet some note highway noise, sliding bathroom door privacy, worn furniture, and sporadic in-room equipment problems. The hotel & room were very clean & modern looking. The beds were super comfortable & I loved that the shower was a shower & not a shower/tub combo. It had sliding glass doors & was extremely roomy. Tons of restaurant & shopping in the surrounding area. You could literally walk to Buffalo Wild Wings, Starbucks, & Olive Garden. The only complaint I have....I wish the pool hours were open later, but that's a personal preference. It closed at 9:30pm. We were there to see the lights at Christmas Town, so by the time we were finished up & back at the hotel, the pool had already closed. My little girl was very disappointed. Wished it had stayed open till about 11pm. Will definitely be staying here again if we're back in the area.

Overall we loved this stay. It was clean & quiet. Staff was wonderful. The location is great. The only things we were bummed about weren’t necessarily the hotels fault. The night we got there they had a gas leak causing the heat to the pool to be shut off. It stayed that way for the remainder of our stay so the pool was very cold! The second day we were there the washer was out of order so I wasn’t able to do laundry which for a family of four on a 6 night stay was inconvenient. These two amenities were a big reason we chose this hotel so it was a little disappointing. I would probably stay here again though because of the location and how nice the staff was.

The music was obnoxiously loud in the lobby and restaurant. The manager refused to turn it down claiming it was a corporate thing. Strange, we’ve stay at Hilton Garden Inns all over the country and only this one plays loud music.🤔

While the property itself was clean and nice, there was no room service available as advertised. The water temperature in the pool was freezing and on the day we arrived, the chef was leaving early so we were not able to order any other dining options. They offered a Mexican buffet, but unfortunately we don’t eat dairy or red meat.

Only two things that I didn’t care about First thing was the towel on shelf was a used one( it was gross) the second thing is you don’t get a receipt when you check out so it’s a guess if they charge you for anything else. Said that’s what happens when you use a Travelocity. So now we wait to see what the card says

We checked into room and it had dozens of bugs. We walked right back out. Returned to front desk and the gal said it was a mistake someone had checked us into a room that was “off the market “ said they were “stink bugs that comes in through the air conditioner and we’re harmless.” We left and got a very nice room in another hotel.

Checked in room 408 had to get new sheets. Alot of hair was on them. In the bathroom they never removed the previous guess soap from showers. So i really don't know if my room was cleaned properly. I stay here all the time and this is the only bad experience I've had.

The stay was a 5 star until it came to the room itself. The furniture in the room was VERY awkward in the arrangement like I've never seen before. My clean feet were black on the bottom from walking throughout the room. Meaning the floors looked clean but they were NOT. No shampoo in the shower as the bottle was empty. Microwave did not work to reheat my food from the onsite restaurant that I spent $325 with including tip. If I based my bias on the room itself the hotel would receive 2.5-3 stars honestly.

Simply AMAZING!! Stayed here for a weekend and from the time I entered the lobby all the way to my room, I was simply impressed. This hotel should be listed as at least a 4.0 star hotel in my book. The rooms was roomy, clean, modern, with a 55' wall mounted TV. The bathroom was spotless!! And that shower...oh boy!! Definitely could easily fit 2 people in there and we never ran out of hot water! The hallways were super clean, the lobby area was very spacious and quiet. I will always stay at this hotel when I am in the area. Oh yeah, there are plenty of venues around to eat from or go shopping. There is a Buffalo Wild Wings next door that stayed opened to 2 am. I could rave about this hotel all day, but you have to experience it for yourself. I am one that reads reviews all the time when selecting where I stay, so I wanted to write one on this property because I truly enjoyed my stay. One more thing.. My wife and I slept like a baby! The bed was super comfortable, the pillows was soft and made you just want to snuggle. Enjoy!

Nice, new-ishand large hotel. I was surprised that no one was at the front desk for what seemed like 5 minutes when I was trying to check in. Just an empty stool behind the counter. If you only have one person on the desk and they have to be away, a placard on the desk advising of that delay would be appropriate rather than an empty seat and no explanation. This was about 9pm so perhaps staffing is light at that time but still odd to have to wait around for someone to materialize from somewhere in the building.

We had an excellent stay on a very brief trip. We came down to visit a friend and purchase a car from them, and then drive back home 7 hours to Northern Virginia, near Washington, DC. Our stay was the perfect respite for us— quiet, clean, and convenient. In particular, Mrs Sabrina, the evening house manager, and Jana at the front desk were very helpful and friendly during our time there. The kindness and pleasant interactions made all the difference to us! Highly recommend this location to stay at if you’re in the area!

I do have a slight problem with the pricing of one night stay being $180 shy isn't breakfast included at $18 for buffet I'll go across the street at Golden Corral for a lower price and much more varieties.
