At Cambria Hotel McAllen Convention Center, guests repeatedly praise the friendly staff, modern spacious rooms, and convenient location near the convention center and restaurants, making it a popular choice for business and leisure stays.

Cleanliness is widely praised, but several reviews mention missed room cleanings, empty toiletries, or dust in less-visible areas. Facilities like the pool, gym, and bar are appreciated; the pool opens late but can be crowded or noisy, and there is one report of dirty conditions. I recently stayed at your property for the first time and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. I had booked the stay specifically to take my daughter to enjoy the pool, but when we arrived, the pool was in unacceptable condition — it was filled with balloons, leaves, and even vomit that had not been cleaned. It was absolutely disgusting and completely unusable. While the room itself was somewhat cozy, the bedding was inadequate. The blankets were thin, and there was no comforter provided, making it very uncomfortable throughout the night. I also attempted to speak with the front desk to extend my stay so my daughter could still enjoy the pool the next day if it was cleaned. The associate said she would check with a manager, but I never received any follow-up. To add to the frustration, the environment was extremely noisy, with doors constantly slamming and loud stomping from surrounding rooms. I spent over $400 for what turned out to be a very disappointing and frustrating experience. I would not recommend this property based on the lack of cleanliness, poor communication, and overall discomfort during our stay. I hope you take this feedback seriously and use it to improve the experience for future guests.

The staff attended tour need. We changed room three times due to maintenance issues. First room, the shower didn’t work, tub didn’t drain. The second room the AC was out of order. The third room was erroneously noisy. Landed in a king. 2 room suite. The staff was over accommodating, but the venue needs some serious upgrades and maintenance work. some better choices on the “menu “. Simple things like french fries or nachos would be better than hard chips and tasteless queso. The flat bread, pizzas for the bar, taste F initial serving. If it wasn’t for the staff, we wouldn’t return! Chasity, Alex, and Abraham.

I enjoyed the amenities this property had. The gym, pool, bar, and laundry facilities. Also, the location was close to everything. I do have one gripe about the cleanliness. Upon arrival, at the second floor elevator, I observed a trashcan that was overstuffed and a pizza box on a table. I then observed a half eaten pizza slice and trash on the floor in the hallway on the way to our room. The elevator trash was left for one whole day and the pizza slice on the floor wasn't picked up until the morning we checked out. We stayed two nights. In the room, our bathroom sink was slow to drain and the sofa was badly stained. We didn't feel the need to complain to management considering the timeframe we were staying and how long we were actually in the room. Overall a good stay and would book again.

Clean hotel and friendly staff. The pool was packed with so many people and they had a lot of options nearby for food. I did not like the bed, it was too soft for me but everyone else loved it. The biggest issues were the fridge not working properly, like stuff did not cool down and the door to the bathroom made a loud noise every time I closed it and you needed to carefully close it to avoid noise. You could hear people if they were loud enough, but overall loved the staff, front desk, area, and stay!

After having paid $200 for my room I had to give an extra $50 deposit that wasn’t stated at all in the information section where hotels will usually inform you of this policy. So assuming it wasn’t necessary I didn’t have my credit card that I used to also book my room so when the guy said he wouldn’t even take cash or any other way to pay the $50 deposit I had to find my bank 2 hours away so that I could co e all the way back , it’s now almost 10 at night , my kids fell asleep already, just worst and most unhelpful check in experience I’ve ever had. Oh and the “hold” on my credit card is still pending when usually after you check out that hold falls off to make your funds available, we’re 48 hours from that night and they still haven’t released my deposit.

Came in right when storm cam in. Had already called about having a special needs child. One of the front clerks was rude looked annoyed . Bartender/Server pointed it we needed cash to eat because their systems were down. Tried using atm that was down as well. It was uncomfortable. They had their own hotel kitchen. And their “ restaurant “ area. Had already asked if we could take the pizza my grandchild ordered and we would order their food. Front desk said it was ok. But the annoed was being rude saying out loud they can’t eat here…Bartender approached said that we couldn’t . His manager was already making faces I tried to explain that the special needs child didn’t understand. ( also bday) . Asked to speak with his manager. She said ok it was uncomfortable. It was empty except for a few people drinking.we were away from everyone besides a guy sitting there using laptop phone. No drink or food. Didn’t get to order in peace without being reminded about paying cash. I said we are guests here charge it to the room!!! Another guest asked for a spoon for a tougher they purchased from their store and sat the baby on the bar and fed the baby. Checked out early because i just wanted ti get out of there! It was a humiliating experience. Spoke to manager offered a free night. Just don’t think that can make up for feeling that uncomfortable. Is a feee night worth your self worth. I don’t know if I’ll go back.
