What guests think

Across reviews, Budgetlodge is described as a very basic, low-price stay with widespread cleanliness problems, frequent sightings of roaches, and strong odors, alongside notable disrepair in rooms and common areas that leaves guests concerned about comfort and safety.

Maintenance issues such as broken or missing smoke detectors, weak water pressure, hot rooms, and nonworking TVs are mentioned repeatedly. Service feedback is mixed, with many reports of rude or unhelpful staff and deposit or refund frustrations, but a few guests praised the front desk or enjoyed their stay. Travellers prioritizing price over comfort may tolerate it, but most should expect significant compromises.

We booked this room based on the pictures after being on the road too long and needing a room to rest for a few hours. The lady working was behind bulletproof glass, with signs for weekly rates and a list of concession foods with prices posted around the window. The concrete ceiling above the lobby was crumbling and supported by 2 2x4s from floor to ceiling. It was dirty, in disrepair and sketchy.

The place is extremely run down. Broken down cars litter the area. My room had no smoke detectors as wires were hanging out of the ceiling, the toilet seat was literally broken in half, the room made me nauseous with the smell of smoke, and the room just have hard core prison vibes. There were some really sketchy people with one guy who I’m assuming was getting evicted or something who was slamming doors and moving all of his belongings into the lobby.

I'm honestly not super picky, just needed somewhere to sleep. Was charged an extra $15 to check in at 2 instead of 3 after a 7 hour drive.. grrr. Room and overall premises were dingy, disgusting and falling apart. No water pressure in the sink, didn't even attempt the shower. Pictures were very, very deceiving! Plus a $100 charge on my credit charge for a 'deposit' I was supposed to have back the next day took 3 days to be returned toy account.

Cockroaches in the bathroom that was only half cleaned urine all around the toilet. Bed is so old and beat down reminded me of a water bed how much you sink in it. I wouldn't recommend it. Spend the extra 10 or 20 dollars if you can and safe yourself from here

At the low price point you get what you pay for. It was very bare bones and nothing more than promised in the ad. I found the room to be a bit less nice than pictures would lead you to believe. Did see a few baby roaches but no bed bugs or other pests. Could have used a good dusting. The bed was fairly comfortable and the area seemed safe enough.

Room temperature was hot, filter was totally filthy, no trash can, removed filter cause had no way of cleaning it, room never cooled down all night. Says pet friendly which I definitely appreciate, but advised that they would only be in room approximately 2 hours max, still get charged $10 for their short stay. We go there cause of price, definitely not for comfort & friendliness.
