What guests think

Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus Scioto Downs earns high marks for friendly staff, clean rooms, and the convenience of being directly connected to Scioto Downs casino and racetrack, with many guests also appreciating easy parking and a satisfying complimentary breakfast.

Common drawbacks include occasionally hard or noisy beds, intermittent hot-water or water-pressure issues, design quirks like sliding bathroom doors, and periodic noise from teams, pets, or mechanical systems. Facilities get praise for pet friendliness and the casino walkway, though reviewers report inconsistent pool availability, an isolated elevator outage, and limited dining options nearby beyond the casino. Overall, expect a convenient, casino-adjacent base with mostly comfortable rooms.

Pool was great! Heated and clean. Night staff were very helpful, friendly and courteous. Not a lot of food choices around besides what casino offers. Would definitely stay here again. We also had the queen size bunk bed, which was AMAZING for my teenage boys! Plenty of room and everyone was happy!

We stay at this hotel a couple of times a year. The staff is incredible. They are friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel itself is in need of maintenance. The shower in our room was rusty, the shelf was falling off, and the glass shower door would not stay closed. The pool has not been operational for over a year. If you park in the rear of the hotel, which we generally do, the parking area is not maintained in the winter. Handicap parking back there does you no good at all if there is any ice or snow. The coffee in the lobby is always hot and very tasty and the breakfast was very nice. Great place to stay, just needs some maintenance.

Nice hotel for a weekend get a way to the casino. Main areas were nice and for the most part clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good! And the price of the stay was good as well. However the room it self needed some work, there were stains on the furniture and the walls showed wear and tear. The shower and bathroom was not clean, had to wipe down the counter tops and the shower had hairs.

The hotel staff was amazing, very nice throught the whole stay, multiple shifts. The room itself was disgusting, a wads of....stuff...dripping down the wall dried up, we had to clean unknown substances off the table in the razor blade cuts. There was a white powder on the remote, residue on the bedside table and a litteral french fry in the sheets of the bed and we had to got get clean blanket from the front desk due to skicky, used condion on the balnkets. Definitely seams like cleaning between customer or changing bed sheets is not a priority. We had to clean all the surfaces before we could touch anything. Every single couter and table wasn't wiped off before we came, coffee ring, spilled stuff, ashes, unknown powder substances, it was awful. I would absolutely never go back unless those issues were fixed.

Our King Suite had so much space for sitting, eating, getting ready and sleeping. It was very contemporary and chic looking. The only con was the air-conditioning was not working properly or the unit itself needs to be bigger, it cooled the space infront of the couch but was not strong enough to completly cool off the bed and bathroom area. The staff was extremely professional and polite. The breakfast was definitely upscale for being complimentary. I was at the hotel on business and would definitely stay again if back in the area.

The hotel is updated and overall clean. Staff was nice. There were two areas for major improvement: coffee and noise. Do not depend on drinking the hotel coffee for breakfast if you like coffee in the morning- it was terrible. I don’t know what the noise was, maybe water in the pipes? Or something with the elevators? There was constant noise that made sleeping difficult. I probably wouldn’t stay again because of the noise.

Very clean throughout the property and overall it was great. The lighting inside the room was bad. Not bright and cheerful as the hallway to the rooms. The sliding door that opens the closet and closes the bathroom isn't a good idea and the desk chair was broken and the only other seat was a thing on rollers that was useless. 12:00 pm check out was nice. Good breakfast.

Everything was seamless from check in to check out. We were greeted by Grey (I may have misspelled her name, I’m sorry!), she was so pleasant and welcoming. I had my two cats with me and she showed them the same amount of love! The room was beautiful, clean and the amenities were beyond anything I expected. Even the housekeeping staff were beyond friendly. I wish every single hotel we stayed at was as beautiful as this. We were driving back home to MA from OKC, just needed a place to rest after driving 14 hours. We truly enjoyed our short stay and hope to pass through again!

We paid up to stay on a Friday night at the casino. Usually we get a play and stay rate of $99. Got a non joining room we wanted. Issue though hotel was full of young boys running around having fun. It was a bunch of baseball players. Biggest issue was free breakfast. With all the young kids and only two staff members to refill food it was all gone in seconds. Line for waffles was at least ten deep. No fake eggs, little potatoes, and oddly they were serving smoked dinner sausage thinly sliced. Money savor. Nowhere to sit due to all the players. Breakfast a real dud. No restaurants in the casino either for breakfast. Just no food because of not enough staff to refill. We left to a real restaurant and paid for real food.

Nice clean modern property. We chose it because we wanted to be near Rickenbacker airport. The breakfast and dining area were much better than most hotels. Good quality food, except for the sausage patties. The dining area was spacious and the staff kept the tables clean. Perhaps this stood out to me because the last two places I stayed were attended to by slackers or shut down the breakfast before official closing time.
