Stayed 2 nights

We ended up in a room on the corner of the building adjacent to a 2 night EDM outdoor event! The hotel didn’t alert us to the event before or during! Now graciously they moved us to the other side of the hotel that was noticeably quieter, but it was a mission that could have been avoided. Great hotel if you are 20-something, adults need not apply.

$450 for a room in possibly the worst section of Hollywood Blvd is bad enough, but $85 (incl tax) for parking?! What a rip-off. I thought it was $5 for members (and affilate members, like me), but apparently not if you stay overnight! This the kind of hotel "gotcha" that drives me bonkers. I gave Aster a try, I won't stay again.

Stayed 2 nights

I was excited to find this place when looking for a hotel, but was completely shocked by my experience and cannot fathom how anyone could rate them five stars or reward them a michelin key. When I arrived to my room, it clearly had not been cleaned well or all that recently. There was spilled sugar and accumulated dust all over the coffee station, most surfaces in the room looked like they hadn't been dusted or wiped in weeks, and there were areas on the floors that were clearly missed during the last vacuuming. I rarely complain, but I called the front desk to let them know about the poor cleanliness of the room. They were super nice and apologized, and said they would send someone up to the room with keys for a new room. The new room, now a complimentary upgrade to a suite (again, very nice of the staff to do this), was cleaner than the first room, but I was still unimpressed by the cleanliness. But, I had already changed rooms and decided it was good enough. Then I checked the bed, and I found what I now believe (and hope) was a carpet beetle or carpet beetle larvae in between the sheets, and you can only imagine my panic. I went back and forth sending photos to Claude asking if it was a bed bug, and Claude identified it as a carpet beetle with decent confidence. I checked the mattress and it seemed ok, but of course that's not the only place bedbugs can hide or live. I'm still praying it was a carpet beetle (though it's still obviously a sign of very poor cleaning)...

If you're staying in LA, you would be remiss if you did not stay here. The staff are professional and helpful at all hours of the day. The rooms are magnificent and clean, and attention to detail was put into every aspect of the hotel, from check-in to check out and every space in between. I cannot speak highly enough about my stay.
