Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Plattsburgh

Loved the clean and comfortable pool / hot tub. Nice setting and having tables and chairs enabled us to also have a nice place to play cards in between times in the hot tub and pool. Complimentary breakfast had a nice variety and well presented. Thanks.

There was a storm in Plattsburgh and the parking spots and walkway leading up to the hotel were not plowed or shoveled. Very unsafe and disappointing to unload and walk through a foot or more of snow to get inside. Once inside the hotel was very clean and check in was quick, smooth and staff was very courteous.

Room was fine, except for the mattress, which was showing its age by sagging toward the middle. The lobby was warm to the point of being HOT. It was a comfort to go outside. The pool was disgusting and cloudy, not swimmable. The gym was closed for no apparent reason. The mini pharmacy was not stocked. There were things kind of piled up to the left of the entrance. Staff was pretty nice, although we did get some weird attitude on check-in. Seems like the people running the place were cutting corners to save money at the expense of making the common areas pleasant and attractive. Definitely feels like the place is going downhill every time we stay, once or twice a year.

Only problem is the pool water was so cold that nobody go inn and thé spa water was dirty no good for family

Hotel is currently under a renovation (main lobby) however rooms were nice and clean. Completely breakfast was decent.

The place was decent - however NO WHERE was it noted (on multiple search engines) that the pool and fitness center was out of order - it was 2 of the MAIN reasons we picked it! There was no compensation from hotel. The staff was nice - the front lobby is nice, but multiple areas were under construction with little signage. Room was about the only thing that was worth being there - spacious. Heating system turned itself down after we left room BACK to 62* after I set it at 70* because it was 9* outside. Bathroom was set up more or less as a disabled/wheelchair accessible. Which was nice and roomy to shower, but floor got wet from the shower overspray. Room was missing an electrical socket cover Place has potential - but I must've missed it! Only good thing - 1st hotel I've stayed at in about 2 years that DIDN'T SMELL OF WEED!

The jacuzzi was really dirty and not inviting

Beautiful hotel! Super clean and new. Friendly staff. The pool was green but apparently the health department checked and it has to do with the “paint” color. The hot tub was wonderful. Breakfast needs to be refilled more frequently. For the short duration of 6-9 for breakfast there should be full trays at 8:15 and they were bare. Guests had to ask for refills. Even at 8:45 there should be enough for guests with young children to access the warm meals with staff nearby to help refill. (2 days in a row there were empty trays well before 9:00am) Overall; the room was comfortable, clean and the lobby welcoming. We would come back. The front desk employees were friendly and helpful. Thanks for a nice visit!!

Room was very clean

My family stayed here for a short stay this Labor Day weekend. Even though I mentioned 4 traveler during my reservation, upon arriving for check in, the front desk staff informed me that our room only had ONE king size bed. We were told that there were no other rooms or beds available to upgrade to. After 5 minutes of contemplating switching hotels, the staff who just told me there were no other options for bedding told me they could charge us more for an executive suite. Fine! We took it, BUT….. The staff told us there was a pullout sofa with pillows and blankets for the kids. Come bed time and there were NO pillows or blankets. My wife called down to the front desk and the staff was rude and told us that they didn’t have ANY extra pillows or blankets available and told us “I don’t know what you want me to do about it”. The next morning, we go in to take our showers and there is disgusting black mold in the shower. We go downstairs for their complimentary breakfast and there is no food and a bunch of hungry guests waiting for what appears to be breakfast that is never coming out. After about half an hour, the staff brings out FIVE bagles for the entire dining area. Are you kidding me? 5 Bagels for the entire dining room! Shortly after, one plate of very watery eggs. DISGUSTING!!! But wait that’s not all!! We decide to go swim. The entire pool area smelled like poop and the water was so foggy looking. The hottub had nasty green stuff floating in it.

Excellent room but FORGET about the breakfast… out of everything , disgustingly dirty (food area, tables, counters) So you have to figure to go eat breakfast elsewhere!

The hotel was nice but it states that the sheets are changed every time and there was definitely some living in the sheets we got and the male front attendant was the worst part of the trip he was rude and just made the stay a little off putting

Room service was good. Elevators are unclean. It smells cigarette smoke around the entrance of the hotel. We can hear the manager curse at the employees. Breakfast was very poor, not enough bread for every one, no plates, no peanut butter. The property doesn't seem to be well managed. Won't go back.

We had a great time. Room was spotless and staff were nice. This is our second family trip here for several nights. We will likely be back a third time in the future.

The hotel was nice, rooms were clean and quiet. Almost all of the hallway light covers were torn and falling apart which was unattractive. The sheets were a bit scratchy, but the mattresses were comfortable. The breakfast was very nice.

Not up to Marriott standards. Room cold and drafty. Trickle of hot water in sink. Housekeeping "on request". Very limited cable channels. Switched to hotel across the street which was far nicer.

Not happy with the lack of tv channels. Some didn’t work, others not available apparently due to contract issues with the provider.

Very modern, big room with comfortable bed

Took a suite, which was spacious and confortable but, the sofa was very soft and we were almost sitting directly on the mattress. The king bed was one of the worst I have ever had in a hôtel. The room was clean. Also, we heard everything going on in the room upstairs, which was quite unpleasant at 1AM. There was no one at the front desk most of the time. Probably won’t return.

Neither of the television in the room would work and one of the phones wasn’t working.

We have stayed at this Fairfield many times before during the same time frame, and the quality of the hotel seems to have gone downhill. There are many broken fixtures in the hallways and our room had a musty smell. The Wi-Fi was out the whole 2 days we were there and my child couldn't complete her homework, which causes some stress. Some people were given compensation for the inconvenience as they checked out (I overheard them while I was eating), but we were not offered any compensation. The hot water for tea was lukewarm at night, and the walls are a bit thin; we could hear the TV next door. However, it was clean and the area is safe, so it wasn't too terrible.

Half of window curtains missing & took multiple calls and talks with front desk to get fixed. Shower floor was cracked with a lot of calk fixes - in a handicapped room. Breakfast not very good.

During the stay we could hear distant noises coming from behaviour rooms upstairs and beside. Hotel in general needs a bit of attention but not bad overall.

The Front Desk attendant right off the bat was awful . I needed to check in a little early . She was rude said NO . I had a sick Mom I was visiting and needed to get to her sooner then later . So she turned me away Twice . Plattsburgh NY ( Fairfield ) . My Partner and I are members / corporate account . Riad Maher , look it up ! We will never step foot in a Marriott Hotel change again . She needs to be fired . Scary lady , If you want details please be my guess . Also one more thing , Dirty and that’s just unacceptable . PS , I had to sleep in a friend camper . ☹️

Room was clean enough; breakfast was low quality but ok. Front desk staff could've have been friendlier and more accommodating; I asked to check out 1/2 hour later and was denied without any explanation.

I have never encountered such a disrespectful and rude staff. Upon arrival there were no greetings or anything, asked me for my id and credit card and that’s it. Did not inform me about breakfast hours, which is why we missed it the next morning. Breakfast ends at 9 am. When asked why I was not informed the staff told me is because I never asked. It was Monday morning, when I asked for 1 hour extension for check out which is when I was told NO. Apparently a huge party is coming during this blizzard (12/19/22). Me and my wife was around the neighborhood until evening and the parking lot for this hotel was EMPTY. One hour before checking out we were interrupted by staff with a construction worker who wanted to check our fire alarm system. I asked the staff to come back in an hour when we leave but they insisted that it is the law to let them in right away. This hotel did not feel like a Marriott but more like Days Inn or Super 8. Moving forward I will never take my business to this hotel ever.

Checked in at 4:30 pm and was told my room wasn’t ready…bummer after a long day of driving to not have a room ready 1.5 after check in. I understand staffing is a struggle, everywhere… But maybe book less rooms if you can’t keep up.

The power kept going out one morning, but that wasn't the hotel's fault - they even managed to keep up with breakfast during the outtage! Coffee creamer ran out and wasn't restocked. Sunday afternoon check in staff was fantastic and gave us great food recommendations when we asked for a local suggestion. Would definitely stay again!

I have stayed there many times when visiting my son at SUNY Plattsburgh

Plattsburg was central to all the areas i traveled to for hiking and waterfalls. One really unexpected waterfall, Highfalls, it was a great little hike no really far but the falls were accessible.

Easy to reach location near several restaurants

Clerk was very warm & friendly. Easy check in and very informative. Close to all I needed to get to.

Not many food options in the area. But one restaurant, Anthony's, was phenomenal! The breakfast food was horrible, no taste to any of it. Overall, the room was very clean, Mary at the front desk was so sweet, and we felt safe in the area.

We enjoy staying at a Fairfield Inn wherever we travel. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, breakfast is always acceptable, hot, and varied, and the parking and locations we need nearby are always within easy access. The only complaint we've ever had is a sometimes noisy HVAC in the room.

Breakfast was horrible

It was a nightmare, just imagine it is February subzero temperature and there was no hot water for the two days we stayed there. and when we asked to talk to a manager there was no manger to talk too and the receptionist couldn't help in this matter. furthermore, the breakfast area the first day had no hot water for tea and there were no plates and the next day there was no coffee during our breakfast. Plus they didn't cline the room and when we asked why, there answer was that we have to call and ask for the service.

For as expensive as this hotel was, we expected more. We went to breakfast right around the middle of the time it was served and the choices were slim. They were out of some items and we kept waiting for them to bring out more but they were never replenished. Disappointed in the breakfast for sure. Room was clean and the area was safe, but we would not stay there again. There are better places to stay in that price range.

The room was hot at first but then it settled in, clean and wonderful. Check in experience was weird and the breakfast was lack luster, the first day I felt like they were over ran and the second day they were cursing and talking loudly in the back, not caring about guests or that the food was cold. The rooms were great, but all aspects of food, coffee, were cold and the snacks, be careful were expired!

Everything except breakfast and check in were great. Nobody at check in, we had to wait 10 minutes for someone to show up. All the serving stations were empty, no cutlery/napkins. Attendant brought out bacon for maybe 3 people when 15 people were waiting for food. Coffee was cold. We left and ate at a restaurant.
