New hotel. Sadly, we went down to use the hot tub and it didn’t have one. Just a pool and the water was pretty cool. Other than that, everything was nice and new! Easy biking distance to the High Trustle Trail, yet 25 mile bike ride to the High Trustle Bridge.

Overall.very good. Will probably stay again. We noticed several areas where interior trim was missing…bottom of windows in dining area, window on 2nd floor. The pool lift was not installed. In a box outside the pool area? We asked someone how long they had been open and they said almost a year.

It was clean, pool was nice and clean. Breakfast is your standard Holiday Inn Express, which I find has plenty of options. Kids love their cinnamon rolls. We always stay here when visiting family in Ankeny and its always been nice. Nothing fancy, but you can tell its a newer hotel.

My siblings and I like to get together once a year. This year we chose Ankey. We totally enjoyed our stay staff were great, grounds clean, everything was very clean. We were disappointed there was not a hot tub, as our ages range from 60-70 😊 we did enjoy the pool. We had a wonderful time! Thank you!

Nice hotel! Room was spacious, liked the extra touches like a dimmer on the light switch by door as well as the furniture built ins. Fitness center was excellent, lots of equipment! Breakfast was above avg in selections. Would stay here again!

The property itself feels neat and clean, so I would recommend this place. However, our room was very gross. I might chalk this up to a poor housekeeping staffer. The bed cover had a recent small liquid stain, there was someone’s old sock on the floor, and there were at least 15 body hairs on the bathroom floor and a couple in the sink. One thing I can’t stand is someone else’s body hair, if the floor was actually vacuumed, there should not have been any.

There was a dirty wash rag in the shower when we checked in and dirt all over the bathroom floor. Gross! Pretty sure the batheoom hadnt been cleaned! I booked a room with 2 QUEEN beeds....they are only Full size at best.

Newer build. Room was good. There was some obvious signs the vacuuming wasn’t done thoroughly but overall the room was clean. Bed was maybe a little soft , pillows were comfy. The shower water pressure was dismal but expected. Breakfast was adequate. Many places to eat nearby and stores for shopping. Ankeny has come along way. If you need to drive into Des Moines you can get pretty much anywhere within 30 minutes.

The hotel was very new, modern and clean. Room was spacious, clean and quiet. Loved the blackout shade in tracks in window. Good breakfast options and nice large dining area. Staff was helpful. Shower had poor water pressure - that’s my only complaint.

This hotel canceled my reservation while I was traveling with my child. Thankfully Hotels.com called me. The Holiday Inn Express said someone with a rewards card needed the room so they cancelled my reservations. Hotels.com found another hotel for me, but I will never stay at Holiday Inn Express again. Especially in Ankeny Iowa along I 35.

They want you to check in right at 3 no earlier..thats what lady told me cuz we tried . Then there was a line to check in. Other lady that did actually check me in was nice tho felt bad for her tho cuz other lady Lucy left her with long line to check in by herself cuz it was time for her to be off work.

Breakfast staff was extremely attentive! Friendly check-in and helpful staff at the front desk. Toilet paper in rooms is very cheap and the mattress was hard. Pancake machine was not working.

The bed sheets didnt smell clean, the sound control was poor. You could hear everything, which is sad because it's a newer hotel. When I checked in, the guy at front desk was not welcoming at all.

Young lady at the front had a line when i got there. It did not take long and she was very pleasant to everyone she talked with. I would highly recommend this Hotel. The breakfast was great and service too. Very easy to check in and check out. Would stay again.

Friendly front desk staff, quick check in. Room was very clean but did have a strange damp feel about it. Our room door didn’t lock the entire time we were there- as in, we didn’t need a key to enter our room so that was concerning. We did alert the front desk who said they would “look into it”. Breakfast was not great- not many choices and the eggs were cold all three mornings. Overall it was a nice hotel and the cleanliness was very much appreciated

The hotel is very clean and beds are comfortable. The stay was enjoyable as once we went to bed we heard not a peep. Also they now have shampoo and conditioner pumps in the shower which was great . Breakfast was great and we would book this hotel again.
