The parking situation is extremely limited and very tight. Our mid size suv almost couldnt fit in the aloted parking spaces. Compact cars will fit just fine. Our room was dirty. Lots of dust on furnature and headboard. There was debris, hair dust bunnies on the registers and in the corners of room and bathroom. Mildew around tub shower along old caulking. Back of bathroom door had not been dusted for quite awhile. Breakfast was small and limited but well done. No staff during check out to receive any info, just drop key and get out type of check out. Location of the Inn is fantastic. Inn itself is wrather run down and dissapointing for the price. Very tired.

The location, price and staff were all top notch! The room itslelf left much to be desired. The window air conditioner was exceptionally loud and made sleeping difficult. The toilet seat lid was only attached on one side. Some of the blinds did not work properly and you could not open any windows to let fresh air in. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

2nd time here and there will def be a 3rd. Rick, the owner, always goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels taken care of (right down to helping a friend who was coming to meet us secure parking). All of the buildings in his constellation of B&Bs are historic and on a picture-postcard street (exactly what you want in historic district) and equally accessible to main drag of Thames and the wharves (5 mins walk to the bar we were going to and even better, a 5 mins walk home).

I loved this stay. I had a very comfortable room with a fireplace and a huge bathroom in a lovely old house. It included free parking and a good full breakfast. It was very well-situated to walk to some of Newport's sights including the waterfront and all its restaurants and nightlife, and you could take a free bus or trolley to the Mansions, so I could just leave my car at the inn and get around without a care. Rick Farrick in the front office was super friendly and took good care of me, as did all the nice staff. To help other guests understand a quirk: While I booked the Admiral Farragut Inn, this booking is managed by the Inns of Newport, and they may put you in another of their five houses. I was upgraded. My Inn was called Wynstone and was a few blocks down from the main 27 Clarke Street address where breakfast is served. It worked out great.
