Highly recommend! Excellent place to stay! The suite is huge and very comfortable. It is well maintained and clean. Restaurant is very good but choices are limited, perhaps because it just opened. The lobby kiosk has delicious muffins and yogurt parfaits. It would be helpful if a guide to using the shower and room air conditioner were provided since they are unique. Free parking is a benefit and the $25 daily fee is offset by a cumulative $15 daily food voucher.

There are distinctly different areas of the hotel - we stayed in the main building in a 2br suite which was brand new and modern, and friends were booked in the older “motel” section and quickly changed rooms when they arrived. The pool was a hike from the main building but beautiful (and super cold), and plenty of chairs and umbrellas for the number of mid-week guests. The restaurant had just reopened and we didn’t try it, but the lobby cafe had coffee, and salads from the pool bar were ok. Beware of the $25/day facility fee - not sure why that’s in place given the price of the rooms. We didn’t take advantage of the free bikes but they seem new, and the only nice machine we found was near the main lobby. Overall we would consider it again if priced well below in town options (which it was). Not much around the hotel, but only 25-30 min walk to the downtown area at a fast clip.

The place is a maze. There was no elevator and it was difficult to find our room and we had to carry our heavy suitcases up multiple sets of stairs. Once you found the room, the room was clean and comfortable.

I highly recommend this property. It is off the beaten path, 10 mins outside of Newport proper, but that worked for us. Plenty of free self parking. Everything is "new". Interior design is funky Newport--organic surfer meets 50's post-modern, Brooklyn aesthetic. Very well done. Front desk staff was courteous and helpful. The restaurant just opened this season and while just getting up to speed, had great quality and choices. The staff there was also excellent. I would definitely stay at this property again.

The location of this hotel was a good spot to be able to drive to local attractions and also uber if needed. We had an EV rental car and charging was easy and accessible. Room and property were clean and up to date. Overall great spot would stay again!

Stayed here before fire, unfortunately the hotel refurbish isn’t finished yet the Hotels.com states it is. No bars, no restaurant, no elevator. Staff were great, room was excellent, clean, roomy, great shower & bathroom. Good value for money. Finish the damn place will ya and turn the AC on in halls and foyer.

I've picked this place solely because it was pet-friendly. I stayed 2 nights, being in town to visit the Gilded age mansions decorated for Christmas. I was given a first-floor room with carpeting (old and stained) which puzzled me because I saw on the same floor other rooms with just flooring, easy to clean. One would think that it's logical to give a person with a dog a room with no carpeting, as accidents may happen. Luckily they didn't ! The heater in my room was faulty, the room was icy-cold ; the engineer had to come and play with it a bit; he removed the panels ...it looked very messy. There was no breakfast offered , just a few unappealing choices of prepacked foods. Limited options for dinner as well. The gentleman at the bar was very friendly though. One night the people in the room next door played loud music up until 1 AM. As they didn't respond to my knocking in the wall signals to turn it down, I had no choice but to call security . 15-20 min later I've heard security on the corridor knocking at their door . The party stopped and I could hear 3 people leaving ( 1 male, 2 females) , talking very loudly , probably moving the party somewhere else. The lobby is nicely decorated and the hotel has a pool , so probably in the summer it could be a better experience. For me though, I doubt that a repeat will be in the cards.

A solid 3.5 star hotel. The hotel can be cleaner. Our floor in the room was dirty. Not sure if it gets cleaned. The staff are very attentive and kind. I think they’re doing the best they can. The walls of hotel are made of paper. We heard everything and everyone. Stayed on the 3rd floor and had some psychotic people above us. Had to complain of noise at midnight. Never ever had to do that in all the years of going to a hotel. We had breakfast at the hotel and staff was sooo frazzled. Like they couldn’t handle more than 1 table. Food was ok. Tiny tiny coffee cups so you are constantly waiting on a refill. A big no for me. Our room looked out to the back of the hotel. There was a lot of noise because it was also their unloading dock. A big thank you to Lisa at hotel for helping us with getting a premium queen. Lisa was so kind and just awesome. And like I mentioned, staff are kind and attentive.

The front desk staff were the stars of our stay. Very nice, professional and responsive. They made us feel welcomed! The room on the other hand was a disaster, as soon as we walked into the room I was slapped in the face by an overwhelming bbq smell. There was a huge stain on the carpet that looked brand new. There were many stains on the carpet which always makes you feel uneasy. The toilet had black rings on it and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in quite sometime. There was hair everywhere! I went to the nearby supermarket and purchased some cleaning supplies to clean the bathroom and disinfect the room as much as I could. I was staying with my 1 and 10 year old. We asked for help with the BBQ smell it was just overpowering, the cleaning crew came and tried to convince me that it was actually nice our room smelled like BBQ sauce and then said he needed a couple of mins. Whatever chemical they sprayed in the room made it worst, the room smelled like Bbq sauce and chemicals now it was nauseating. The entire three days we dealt with the gross smell, because they didn’t have any available rooms. It’s evident the cleaning staff need to dedicated more time to their work.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I called in the morning to ensure early check in. The lady I spoke to said that she would make sure our room was ready & make sure “there were no stains.” We thought that was an odd response, but didn’t think anything of it. Upon arrival to our room, there were dog hairs on the bed, brown stains on the lamp, carpet stains, red stains on a material bench, & a used glass cup in the bathroom. We called & they had 2 men come look who agreed. They offered us another room, which was even worse. There was food on the floor, long hairs on the sheets, & makeup on the pillow. Worst of all there was a dried, crusted white stain on the blanket to which the lady responded, “it’s probably drool.” Eventually they moved our room to the “newer” side of the hotel. We were then placed in a room with 1 king bed rather than 2 queen beds. In the middle of the night, my card was charged over $1000. I asked the front desk the next morning what that was for & the same lady said someone probably pressed the wrong button when checking us in. We reminded her that she checked us in & she denied, which was very odd.

We reserved two rooms, and both were disappointing. One room was supposed to have a king bed and a double or queen sofa bed — it only had a very small twin sofa that clearly couldn’t accommodate my grandchildren. The hotel said they had no other room available. Luckily, we had brought an inflatable mattress, or we would’ve been stuck. The second room was supposed to have two queen beds and a crib. No crib was provided. When we called reception, we were told no one could help us. Only after insisting — and showing our booking confirmation — did they bring a playpen, which was not what we were expecting. The pool had no towels available, and when we asked, we were told to come back in 2 hours as they were “all washing.” Breakfast at the restaurant was another low point: the French toast was inedible, and the staff was rude and visibly indifferent. To top it off, the Wi-Fi didn’t work for two days. This was not a 4-star experience. At best, it felt like a 2- or 3-star hotel. Definitely not worth the price.

We really enjoyed our stay overall — the hotel facilities were quite good, and our whole family liked the design and general atmosphere. However, the one major downside was the poor sound insulation. Unfortunately, we were assigned a room on the ground floor, right below another guest room. The noise from upstairs was quite loud and disruptive, especially at night, and it really affected our sleep over several days. On top of that, our room was located directly across from a busy hallway entrance, so we could constantly hear people coming and going, which made it hard to rest. I did ask the front desk if we could switch rooms, but was told the hotel was fully booked. That was disappointing, but we understand it may have been a busy period. Aside from the noise issue, we had a pleasant experience and appreciated many aspects of the hotel.

Really nice room with a really comfy bed, and the staff were very friendly helpful. My problem is the how loud the rooms are - dont expect to get much sleep which is sad because the beds are so comfy. Our room was on the ground floor, the person in the room above above us was walking about constantly (no exaggeration it sounded like an elephant was up there) until midnight and then started doing it again at 5 am - this may seem like a silly thing to complain about but it was so loud that we couldnt sleep.

It's a nice hotel, but for the price you cannot do the rooms. They did not do the room the day after our first night and I had to ask to get it done the next day. We are pretty nead, so we could manage, but in my brother room, there were two kids, so you really expect to find your room done when you come back at the end of the day. The front desk provided the coffee cups and sugar package replacements, and the towels my broader requested (It took a few request, though). We also got the hotel extra fees for one day reduced. But that is not the point. The location is good, just a few minutes by car from the town.

Staff was less than helpful. Upon check they did not disclose the amount they were charging in my card or the incidental fee. I had many difficulties throughout my stay with the staff that worked there. A hotel and its members are supposed to create a relaxing environment to the best of its ability. I stayed Friday-Sunday and every day there was an issue that arose to the the point I had to continually contact them days after my stay and was not resolved until that following Thursday.

We had a truly enjoyable stay! The staff was warm, engaging, and genuine. Every interaction felt sincere, and it was a pleasure speaking with them. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, and the overall atmosphere welcoming. The only real challenge we had was finding our room. The hotel layout is a bit confusing, possibly due to past renovations. We were given a pamphlet with instructions, but it didn’t clearly explain how to get to our room or mention any shortcuts. It took us about 15 minutes to locate it, and we weren’t alone. We met six other guests during check-in who were also in town for their children’s graduation. Later, we ran into them on the second floor, and they were still trying to find their rooms. We had to call the front desk for help, and someone came quickly, which we really appreciated. When my husband and I returned from our event later that evening, we ran into Josiah, the maintenance technician, outside. He kindly offered to help us find our room and walked us through with professionalism and care. Josiah was a standout genuine, helpful, and dedicated. You’re lucky to have him on your team.. This isn’t a complaint just a kind suggestion. Clearer instructions in the pamphlet and a little more direction training would go a long way. This was our first time going to the Jazz Festival. We stopped at Wayfinder and had great customer service and wonderful food. Special thanks to Devon, Lisa, and Jimar at the front desk. The best part was the meals had at the Little Clam restaurant- nice burgers, smoked chicken, roasted fish and don’t leave without the English toffee pudding. Chefs Antonio and Matt R. are passionate about their craft and the manager Ryan and Eabha were wonderful. Wayfinder we hope to find our way back next year!

Our stay at The Wayfinder was excellent. Staff were incredibly nice and so helpful. It was a great location and a very quick ride to downtown. We are incredibly thankful for a pet friendly hotel so our fur baby can come on vacation with us. The hotel and rooms were very clean with very unique and memorable style. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Newport.

The Wayfinder was a great place for our two night stay in Newport. The beds were comfortable and we liked that it seemed recently updated. The pool area was very nice, too. Staff were friendly. The rooms are set up in a confusing way that leads to getting lost, but you get used to it and the staff will give you a helpful map upon arrival. I guess it’s aptly named! I wouldn’t recommend paying extra for a balcony room because they overlook the parking lot. The location is a bit further from downtown/Thames Street than I would have liked, not walking distance, but it’s sort of between the Mansions and downtown. Overall, a great stay!

From what a few of our Uber drivers told us, the hotel had a fire a few years ago and was recently reopened. The hotel is very nice and reasonably priced. It is not too far from downtown Newport, but it is a little far to walk. The staff was friendly. I would stay here again.

Pool isn't the greatest but would keep kiddos happy/burn off energy if you arent feeling a beach day. Not really walking distance to anything but central to most activites, ie. Has what you need. Decently close location to downtown 15 minutes uber ride to all the hot spots downtown. Avoid the little clam restaurant, slow and staff seemed overwhelmed and understaffed. Pool & pool shack is great. Lots of pool chairs And lounge areas to relax. Would recommend this property

This was our first trip to Newport, the Wayfinder was an excellent choice for our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice. We enjoyed some time at the pool, and enjoyed breakfast at the Little Clam restaurant. The location was very convenient. We definitely plan on returning.

I love everything about the rooms and the staff. The bar staff and wait staff are amazing also. But the hours and menu choices are not conducive for families, or business people trying to have a cocktail after 10pm, or mid day. Lastly, the hotel GM is the reason I will always choose this hotel over others, she is wonderful and always been appreciative of all her guests!

Check in was quick and we liked our King Parlor Suite on the 4th floor. Unfortunately the AC was weak and eventually not cooling during a heatwave. The young building engineer, Josiah, (he is a real asset) tried to fix it but eventually we had to change rooms but were upgraded to a suite with a wet bar. I wish we had been told about the bell carts when we checked in. It would have made moving 3 suitcases easier. We never used the bikes, pool or the fitness room due to the heat and pool crowding, but they looked clean. I wish the outdoor showers by the pool were stocked with shampoo, body wash and conditioner. We ended up dragging sand through the hotel from the beach. A quick shout out to Zee at the front desk. She was so professional and kind. We loved her attitude, helpfulness and manners! Manners matter.

Although we understand that the hotel is still under renovation due to a fire, it would have been good to have at least a place in the hotel to sit and have a hot breakfast. Two apples, two small muffins, and two small orange juices in a brown bag placed on the floor at the foot of your door is not it.

This was our first time going to the Jazz Festival. We stopped at Wayfinder and had great customer service and wonderful food. Special thanks to Devon, Lisa, and Jimar at the front desk. The best part was the meals had at the Little Clam restaurant- nice burgers, smoked chicken, roasted fish and don’t leave without the English toffee pudding. Chefs Antonio and Matt R. are passionate about their craft and the manager Ryan and Eabha were wonderful. Wayfinder we hope to find our way back next year!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Wayfinder!! Everyone was so helpful and nice. We were just a minute from everything. We loved the cafe on sight!! We had some of the best food in town and never left our hotel.
