A lovely historical building turned into a hotel. We stayed at a room on the first floor. The room is comfortable and quiet, and the decoration is unique with the old furniture. There are two things that people need to be aware of; 1. there is no parking space and no valet parking available. 2. There’s no elevator and no porter available.

Its a beautiful b&b. There wasn't anyone there when i checked in. They were off property and I had to call and wait for them to arrive. That was a pain, parking is inconvenient. Other than that I'd stay again. Its a beautiful home.

It’s a charming, quaint house centrally located downtown. However, it is an old house and has not been properly repurposed with sound insulation as I could hear my next door neighbor snore at night and hear hotel guests laugh and talk loudly downstairs from my room upstairs, and worse, hear the people in the parking lot next to the hotel talk at night. There were no modern conveniences such as a safe or small fridge/mini bar in the room nor an electric kettle to boil water or any drawers for my clothes. There wasn’t sufficient space to put away anything. In fact, I was given a different room from the one I booked and there was no one there after I checked in to tell. So I had to contact my travel agency. I was obliged to stay for 2 nights as I couldn’t cancel, but I checked out on my last night and stayed at another hotel that was more comfortable. I would say this is not a 4 star boutique hotel.

This aged property needs major upgrades, starting with new flooring (threadbare and stained carpeting in room) and bathrooms (a dangerous old tub with wide walls requiring Twister-like game skills to enter and exit safely). The absence of an elevator looms large when you arrive and realize the number of stairs involved total well over 20 from the street. There is no parking if not handicapped and the local public garage charges $36. The indifferent staff offers no help and few courtesies. Worse still, when I expressed to the morning person my disappointment that the high parking cost had not been disclosed up front, I received lip that I should’ve done more advance research on my own. All in all, I cannot recommend this Inn to anyone but those enamored of sort of upgraded old homes. Okay, more positively, it has an excellent location near to the downtown goings on, new and nice linens on the older bed, a very clean bathroom, and a welcoming parlor area.

Unfortunately despite the price tag competing with 4 and 5 star hotels the property was run down and old with a malfunctioning sink that did NOT drain and a very old bed that caused all kinds of neck and back pain; the shower curtain was coming off the wall, and the patio furniture was filthy dirty and unusable

Not wanting to be in our room constantly, we ventured outside a lot. The outside of the building is in serious need of maintenance and repair. Do not go down the stairs from the upstairs back deck. My husband grabbed the railing and it crumbled in his hands. There are cobwebs all over the place. We have more issues with the inn that have not been resolved yet with the management.

My stay was wonderful. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was delicious and staff was nice. Plenty of dinning options within walking distance for lunch and dinner. To my delight, a couple of record stores were also nearby. SLO Amtrak station was proximal enough to walk to/from. Didn’t make use of the terrace due to rare inclement weather but that didn’t bother me. Will definitely stay again the next time I’m in SLO.

Cute place and breakfast that’s included was so yummy! Carpets were filthy however in most places except our room. Our first room(our town I think it was called ) had a sink and mirror in the bedroom not the bathroom and the sink /faucet were so bad. And the mirror you literally couldn’t see your face the mirror was so old. So not great for putting make up on! Overall the hotel was clean except the carpets. We moved rooms and the dollie Mae was much better.

Overall a good place to stay. Great location (though free parking is a few blocks away) and beautiful old building. With that, our room had a separate sink away from the bathroom which was a bit awkward. Our bathroom fan wasn't working & some of the furniture & carpeting was a bit tired. Definite noise from the street but pretty good blackout shades. Lovely cookies & wine in the evening, all day tea/water service, and breakfast in the morning (though the same ingredients showed up a few days in a row in different forms.)

The Inn is so cute and the rooms very clean but beware, I booked a room with a fireplace option and the fireplace did not work. So call before you book if you want a room with a working fireplace. The staff was excellent and the breakfast in the morning was great.

There were so many missed opportunities to make the room comfortable here. The mattress was so soft we woke up with back pain (we are not that old), the pillows were awful, the towels were tiny, the mirror over the sink was set too low to see your face (try shaving with no mirror!), and the sink was too small for the chest it was placed in. The only way to get to our room was a flight of steep stairs - carrying luggage, this was not fun. The historic building is lovely, and the people were great, but it was just an uncomfortable room.

The hotel only allows check in between 4:00 and 10:00. After a 6-hour drive I got there at 3:00 and I asked them if I could go into a room that's already cleaned and ready for me but they said they won't let me in until 4:00 unless I give them an extra $25. And then they charge you an extra $19 if you book through Expedia or hotels.com or any of those other guys so it's a really bad experience because they basically took an extra 50 bucks for nothing. And the parking for the hotel is one block away which is also another pain in the butt. Very nice staff however but I wouldn't go back because of the nickel and diming

The staff were rude. A $900 and $1100 room should have regular cleaning, a shower that works and does not pour onto the bathroom floor making a falling hazard, there was no closet and no hangers to hang clothes on at all. It depends on its cuteness for a minimum of service. When we asked for coffee 5. Minutes before 8 we were told that was impossible.

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were lovely, the bed was comfortable and the house itaelf very characterful. Two blocks down Garden Street is residential parking where you can park for free overnight which is a bonus too.

Love the cute inn and location. Parking is 16/night or walk a bit and park free up the street. The best part was the wonderful and yummy made to order breakfast/ so good as well as beautifully presented. Def wasnt expecting! It is an inn so rooms are each unique. Tv not in bedroom side if that matters but will def stay again. Staff super friendly

The place is very nice, we had a bad experience with breakfast, after ordering the only choice and obtaining a number we didn’t realise the order was forgotten, we waited patiently and finally asked about the status. The server said she just forgot and said she would be get on it right away. This put us behind schedule for the day.

The hotel was a true hidden gem. The Inn was lovely, beds comfy and provided blackout curtains. What truly stood out to me was the breakfast. I have celiac disease (a very senstive gluten allergy) and they provided an excellent breakfast that I could enjoy as well. When you come to breakfast, you let the chef know and they prepare it fresh. Also, the coffee and fruit provided were delicious. The service and location truly make this a standout - especially for the price.

Although we just spent a night and left early the next day, the experience was great! Specially breakfast, freshly individually made. Close to dining and shopping at walking distance. Quiet street on a busy commercial area. Great coordination for late registration and excellent service overall.
