What guests think

For travellers seeking budget lodging, Baton Rouge West Inn earns praise for low prices, basic comfort, and often-clean rooms with working AC, while friendly front-desk staff help make short stays and game-day visits straightforward.

Recurrent complaints note the advertised amenities are inaccurate: the bar is closed and the swimming pool is empty or out of order. Cleanliness and upkeep appear inconsistent, with reports of dirty floors or odors, worn linens, pests, and occasional maintenance problems. The location is handy to I-10 and food, but some mention noise from nearby trucks and a rougher surrounding area. Expect a no-frills, low-cost stop when you mainly need a place to sleep.

The pictures on the website are very outdated/inaccurate. The onsite bar and pool pictured have both been closed for 5 years. The surrounding area and people wondering about the property made the property felt unsafe. I would not recommend this place for women and/or women traveling with children, unless they have/carry a weapon for protection.

Smelled like weed everywhere all night, smokers outside our door when it is a nonsmoking room. Socks were black when we left from the dirty floor. Only one trashcan by the door. Bed felt horrible, could feel the springs (and hear them) with any moment. Nothing for ice, but had a couple cups. Soap, conditioner & shampoo were just thrown on the sink.

We were looking for an inexpensive place to stay for a couple of nights and Baton Rouge West Inn was perfect for what we needed. The motel is well used but the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the AC worked perfectly. If you want an innexpensive place to lay your head and you don't need much else, this is a good place to stay.

The staff didn't know anything. The bed was hard as a rock. There were roaches in the room. The pool was green, and there was lots of noice. There were permanent residents on the first floor with thier doors open. The sound of the truck engines from the gas station next door at 3:00 AM woke me up. The bed sheet were thin and had holes. There was no coffee nor ice bucket. The towels were old. Finally, the floors were dirty

Passing through in the middle of a road trip, and the only reason I stayed here was I was exhausted and it was cheap. The physical condition of the place is less than desirable, and I wouldn’t bring my wife here. The good things were the lady at checkin was super friendly, the pillows were comfortable, and I didn’t see any hair or garbage on the sheets or in the bathroom.
