Lovely setting in a great old building in the woods. When we arrived to check in, no one was around and there was nothing showing our room number or even confirming our reservation. Finally called and was told our room number. Breakfast was meh. Usually B&Bs are better. We didn’t have a fridge in our room but we were allowed to use the fridge in the kitchen. We were not told about the pet fee until we were getting ready to check out. The fee wasn’t unreasonable but they should mention it on their site. Also, if you go, make sure you confirm that Swallow Road is open. It was closed when we were there and (after several tries) we found a circuitous route to the B&B. We were glad we’d brought our 4WD vehicle.

The innkeeper provided instructions on how to get to one restaurant which was still open. Cloudcroft is a small town but has several places to eat and a convenience store which sells lots of food items. The innkeeper does not live in the facility itself. Entrance requires a code after dark.

The Crofting Inn was a beautiful place to stay! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious! Room was clean and had a cute little private patio. The main house had amazing decor (antiques and seasonal pieces that were just plain awesome!) and the front porch was a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the weather! Will be staying again the next time we go to the mountains!

The owner/operators pay attention to detail to make the stay enjoyable. There are no TV's but the WiFi is good. It is well situated, near to central Cloudcroft and it fits in well with the low-key, yet stimulating environment of this beautiful mountain town. A quaint historic Inn filled with all sorts of trinkets located a few blocks from the old town. It’s easily walkable down a small gravel road. The proprietor lives off premises. The floors creak and our room had slanted floors especially in the bathroom which added to the charm of the place. The towels smelled mildewed. No toiletries except for soap at the sink. The mattress very soft & uncomfortable, the pillows flat. Thank goodness we had our own with us since we’d been camping prior to this stop. Our camp mattress much more comfortable just sayin. A small continental style breakfast was offered ( an egg pastry of some sort, a fruit cup , a muffin & a small juice. We were still hungry & kept expecting more to be offered but no such luck. I’m not sure I would return or recommend at least not the room we got ( Kurt’s)

I absolutely loved my stay! It felt far away, but was a short/easy walk to town. The room was very clean and the owners/family were so welcoming and wonderful. I’m coming back to Cloudcroft next year and look forward to staying here again.

The place is quite cozy and the host is super friendly. The hot breakfast was also exceptional. Unfortunately the bed was simply awful- the worst I can recall ever sleeping in. It was thin, completely worn out and led to the worst night sleep I have had in a very long time.

Unique and homey. The Balcony was a great addition. Beautiful view. Only issue was trying to drive up the last 25ft on ice with a FWD sedan.

Charming classic bed and breakfast with emphasis on the breakfast! Can walk to town which is adorable. Rooms were nice but pillows were flat. I brought my own. Beds otherwise fine. No tv in room or home which was ok with me. Hostess was lovely and cooked a delicious breakfast.

I enjoyed this very pleasant departure from a string of impersonal motel rooms. Like the overall inn, the room itself was attractively rustic, but it turned out to be a little less comfortable than optimal due to my physical requirements.

Cute and cozy bed and breakfast. Stayed in Andrew's room and the only issue I had was the claw footed bath/shower. Being a senior I was concerned about using and chose not to. Soap would be a nice enhancement for the bath/shower as well. Breakfast was delicious and found innkeepers to be very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again, but perhaps select another room. Thank you for your hospitality!

The whole house is beautiful and breakfast was delicious! We did have some hiccups, but the owner of the place addressed our concerns right away and made sure we left happy. We are definitely looking forward to staying again in the near future.

Beautiful bed and breakfast nestled in an idyllic setting! The staff is so kind and accommodating. If you are going to arrive after check-in hours, CALL AND LET THEM KNOW! There is no email with key retrieval instructions that Expedia indicates! They do accomodate late check-ins, they just need to know that you are for sure still coming! Seriously, nicest people, definitely enhance the Cloudcroft experience!

Owners switched rooms for me, which made things much easier for me. Made hreat recommendations on food and pointed me to a local hardware store that had exactly what I needed. Wonderful people!

We were surprised that we didn’t see any staff people very much. Person who checked us in was nice, would have liked air in room and fridge we went bought a fan. There was a little boy who was trying to pick up weed eater and almost hit cars he said he lived there. Rocks were being thrown by same young boy neighbors were yelling at him also. We were sitting on porch.

10/10 will never stay anywhere else in Cloudcroft. The owners are so nice. We made a very last minute reservation and turns out they were actually closed but hotels.com went ahead and let us make the reservation. They went out of their way and gave us a room anyways and even made muffins to go for us in the morning!!! Super family friendly place to stay. Quiet, quaint little place with lots of trees and shade.

Our visit to Cloudcroft and stay at The Crofting Inn was a very pleasant surprise! The Inn is off the beaten path, but only a very short walk down to the shops & restaurants in town. The building is older but very well taken care of and clean. The rooms aren't huge, but they are cozy. Our room had a coffee maker, microwave, and all the linens we needed, just bring your own toiletries. Understand you are staying in a forested area, not Times Square, so plan accordingly. Gail & Scott are the loveliest people and very accommodating to requests. They prepared a delicious and satisfying breakfast each morning, which we weren't expecting, and it kept us fueled all morning during our hikes in the forest. This was a perfect place for my husband and me to stay for a peaceful, relaxing, and romantic getaway. We definitely plan on returning!

The whole house is beautiful and breakfast was delicious! We did have some hiccups, but the owner of the place addressed our concerns right away and made sure we left happy. We are definitely looking forward to staying again in the near future.

Cute place, very quaint and decorated with great antique furniture and lots of mountain and seasonal decor. Hosts are kind and hospitable. We stayed two nights, and our host accommodated us with early breakfast and even a to-go breakfast! Recommended for a nice stay in Cloudcroft.

A quaint historic Inn filled with all sorts of trinkets located a few blocks from the old town. It’s easily walkable down a small gravel road. The proprietor lives off premises. The floors creak and our room had slanted floors especially in the bathroom which added to the charm of the place. The towels smelled mildewed. No toiletries except for soap at the sink. The mattress very soft & uncomfortable, the pillows flat. Thank goodness we had our own with us since we’d been camping prior to this stop. Our camp mattress much more comfortable just sayin. A small continental style breakfast was offered ( an egg pastry of some sort, a fruit cup , a muffin & a small juice. We were still hungry & kept expecting more to be offered but no such luck. I’m not sure I would return or recommend at least not the room we got ( Kurt’s)

Breakfast cook/server did everything she could to show she didn’t want guests that morning. Got sucked into staying here by pictures on the web. In actuality the place is a a quirky, odd dump.

Rooms are nice and clean, unfortunately there is no air conditioning on them and if you stay in a hot day you will feel hot and you will need and extra fan. All common areas inside are nice, property have a nice patio but needs attention to use it. Service from hostess is great!! Great breakfast and attention from Andie.! She has a great customer service and works to make you feel comfortable. Look forward to comeback.
