Hotel Avenida Cancun

What guests think

At Hotel Avenida Cancun, travelers describe a budget, no-frills stay with generally friendly staff, walkable access to supermarkets and eateries, and basic rooms; however, recurring drawbacks include hard mattresses, occasional plumbing or odor issues, and limited amenities.

The location suits those visiting the local area, though multiple reviews note it is far from the Hotel Zone and some felt the neighborhood less appealing. Facilities are basic with scarce parking and missing in-room items like a fridge or blankets, while Wi-Fi reach can be inconsistent. Expect a simple, economical stopover with trade-offs in comfort and amenities.

It’s Basic but the room was cold and I felt safe. Local tacos spots up and down the street. The Portillo is a main st in Cancun, more the local area. I did live in Cancun for 10yrs take my daughter to her dads to live each summer so this is a quick 2-3 day stay. The area is safe. There’s a large grocery store directly across the street, Mega you can buy anything you may need there. At night there are taco/food stands and restaurants all up and down the Portillo either side of the hotel. They have free off street parking. Grab the local Route 2 bus and it’ll take you right to the Zona Hotelera for the public beaches.

Ok hotel. Did not have a mini refrigerator like advertised. Good restaurant across the street. Nice staff. Good hot water.

The expedia description of this hotel listed a refrigerator as on of the room amenities. This is a main reason we booked this hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel does not offer this. Quite a disappointment.
