Motel 6-Coalinga, CA - East

It was a quick overnight trip, and we got what we paid for. The room was fine except that it wasn’t as clean as we would have liked. Although we didn’t go in the pool, it was dirty with leaves and other debris. Lastly, there was an unpleasant odor outside. It didn’t affect us in the room, but as soon as you stepped outside the room, it hit you immediately.

no ice. Machines broke both them for over 2 weeks, lucky gas staion gave me free ice

A/c did not blow cold and herd enough to cool the room down. They tell you where the ice machines are, go to get ice and they are both broken.

The parking lot is well lit and the hotel is conveniently located off the interstate. The area is rural and known for agriculture since it is in the middle of the Central Valley so you will experience some farm fragrance and flies to varying degrees. However, the rooms are clean, simple, and comfortable enough for an overnight rest.

Parking lot is well lit. The room was comfortable--simple, clean, ad no frills-- perfect for an overnight stay. My room faced the interstate so i could hear the traffic a little bit until I turned on the a/c heater unit. If you need a simple, o fuss place to sleep overnight, this would be a good choice in terms of cost, comfort, and convenience.

We have stayed in a lot of $60-70 motel rooms, and we know that you can’t expect much. But this one was below the acceptable standard, even with our low expectations. We won’t be stopping here again on the LA-SF drive. Three main issues: 1. The A/C doesn’t work. When it’s 100F outside, that’s not ok. 2. It’s dirty. The rooms have been cleaned, just not very carefully. The pool is disgusting to look at. There’s garbage strewn about the place from overflowing waste bins. 3. The “deluxe” rooms are the same rooms, plus a fridge and/or a microwave. We paid extra to get a fridge, but it wasn’t plugged in so it was useless. The microwave was so dirty I didn’t want to use it.

Quiet easy parking. Easy check in . The ac wasn’t that cold the big gap around the door some bugs got inside the room The pool wasn’t open and we choose the property cause my kids want it to use the pool.

The check in was easy and the girl working the desk was very friendly. The pool needs some maintenance as there was bugs swimming in the water. The floor was covered in debris and there were feathers all over. The room was dusty and the walls had food stains on them. There was cats fighting outside which made it hard to fall back asleep. The location waa convenient to the highway.

There were dozens of dead crickets on the floor of the room and bathroom… and a few live crickets that we found throughout our stay. It was disgusting

Dirty room, hair. We had to wipe ourselves. Fridge wasn't plugged in when we arrive. Plus we had to clean it as well. Will not stay here anymore

Full of spiders and cockroaches, the room was dirty, stained walls and floors.

I've stayed here twice before because of location from the freeway, close to family, price and next to Dennys Restaurant . My room was ground level behind the office before the back of the building. The large garbage dumpsters at the back of the driveway, are not enclosed and hidden, and dozens of feral cats hanging around. Did not see them last year. Also some employees or freinds ? searching in the dumpsters for recyclables. Yuk. My room was close enough that flies and fruit flies were a problem coming in the room every time the door was opened. But even so, the door does not properly fit and you can see daylight through the frame. The floor was dirty, dried ketchup on the floor and splattered on the wall behind the bed. The tub hasn't been throughly cleaned for a long time. A piece of soap was in the drain and the water stopper on the tub faucet was stuck so only the shower worked. Good thing because I wouldn't take a bath in that tub. And I've never seen such horrible towels that were thin, and full of fuzz. The really impressive thing was the furnace/air-conditioner. It was the quietest one I've ever seen and worked perfect. The bed was Very comfortable. I bring my own pillow and I slept good. I don't know if the upstairs rooms are just better. The doormatts are glued down and are ratty looking.

There were FIVE COCKROACHES in the bathroom!!

The sheets were dirty as well as the floor. The tv was without signal. The bath tub floor looks dirt.

There was visible black mold on shower walls, heand in vents in room. Sink drain had no stopper on. Outside was so Smokey. Cigarette butts every outside.

Need to make sure that when checked in the Motel does not have A/C- Not working bur no A/C at all-

Air conditioner did not work. Was told they were under going remodel/repair. It was hot out and room was unbearable. Frustrated that they rented the room knowing it did not have A/C. Got a partial refund. They should have fully refunded the room, we had to stay because of tight work schedule didn’t have time to switch hotels.

There’s truck stops and what not and that all I heard all night: I can hear people talking through the walls. When we walked in the floors were dirty and the sheets smelled. The restroom looked like they hadn’t mopped in a while and the towels were super rough. Front desk was very welcoming and kind !

Good example of "you get what you pay for". Cheap hotel in an area with more expensive options. This Hotel is old, run down, dirty, and very noisy. Seemed like the walls were paper thin, and there was a stampede all night on the second floor.

Overall it was comfortable but I had the room that faces the loud freeway and had to wear ear plugs plus put the air confitioner fan on to fall asleep.

No AC in room. That area of California is hot around this time of year and not having a fan or AC made the stay so uncomfortable in the room

The beds were quite soft and not what we were used so we found them to be uncomfortable. The door to the room didn't close very tight and it happened to be windy when we arrived so I had to jam something between the door and the frame to try and keep it closed tighter.

AC does not work I went to ask for another room I was given one same issue. I asked if maybe I had the thermostat wrong & I was don’t they don’t even work it’s just automatically get air out the vent

I had 2 bad experiences with front desk lady Luisa. Very rude and not helpful. Horrible customer service skills. The night lady was amazing and very helpful.

Checking in was a breeze because I use hotels.com the lady at the front desk was very nice she insured me that she would get me the best room possible. Unfortunately when I got to the room I realized that the TV did not work so I called the front desk and let the lady know it wasn't me who broke it she laughed and told me that they're having problems with the TV company she let me know that the manager was on the phone with them trying to fix the problem unfortunately the problem never got fixed they did not offer me any other type of compensation. In this particular room there was no refrigerator there was no microwave there was no blow dryer there wasn't even the Bible. I felt safe I was comfortable and I was able to sleep very well

This is the best price performance option within 4” miles, and, as motel 6’s go, this one is fully renovated and the staff was outgoing and friendly. Save the hundred for. Place where it matters.

So tired upon arrival, quick and professional making sure I know where my room is and closest parking. Best of all, offers a late check out when requested. Grounds are extremely lit with cameras, I feel very safe there. The price can’t be beat, rooms are clean and well maintained. I stay in the area once a week and this is my best value for sure, I’ve tried a few and will stick with this location.

Ashley is a great clerk. Ive stayed 5x in last 6 mos. 1st showed up with flooding inlower room from upper. 2nd no AC working at 90+ degrees. 3rd room reserved not ready and had to wait until done at 4:00. Yesterday, through no fault of the facility, electricity out since morning and why didn't they let me know so i can search elsewhere after driving 5 hours?; power not on until 6:45 pm in 90+ degree temperatures. I travel extensively from So Cal to No. CA and that's my halfway point

The price is good. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. And Carlos in the office is was especially helpful and accommodating!

I have stated at this property a few times over the past 3 years and it was fine. This last stay will be my last here. The room type I reserved had no AC so the front desk woman, who was very nice, moved me to another room with two beds which is all they had left. When I got to the room I set my luggage down and began to check the room. The first bed had hair in the sheets while the second bed was fine. The TV did not work and there were cobwebs along the sides of it. The two lamps next to the beds were missing shades and when I turned on those lights I could see spider webs along the ceiling by the window. I picked up the phone to call the front desk, but it didn’t work. I had been on the road for hours, arriving close to 11 pm and I was simply too tired to go back to the front desk and ask for another room. I got up early and left, letting the front desk clerk know of the issues. She was very nice and apologized, saying she would let management know. Needless to say I will never stay here again.

A good place for travelers that are seeking a cost conscious sleep. A bit unkempt. We chased the omnipresent flies out of our room. But the bed and bath were clean and the shower worked well and we slept well. I think they should wash the walls however.

The property needs a full upgrade throughout. Lots of empty lots and abandoned buildings and not safe.

If budget is your chief concern in picking lodging on this desolate stretch of I-5, this is great place. A clean, safe, quiet no-frills room with TV, internet, ice, free morning coffee, microwave ovens (in a common area) and a laundry room. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. The immediate area is unattractive but not unsafe and next to the freeway. Walk to Dennys or drive 3 minutes to fast food, 5 minutes to Harris Ranch Resort. Grounds are not well kept. Well, $60/night....

Very friendly receptionists. Very clean room and bathroom. The beds were too soft/unsupportive. The walls were too thin. We could hear our next-room neighbors talking until after midnight. Far from town. Denny's and 2 expensive taco places next to gas stations and some fast food places were the only restaurants that were within walking distance.

Staff very obliging and friendly. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. No restaurant but plenty of food outlets close by. Convenient to I5 a perfect stopover on yr travels.

You have to remember this is cheap accommodation so don’t expect everything in pristine condition. The staff were super friendly and helpful. And it is close to a whole range of takeaway food places. The room was small and there were rust stains on the bath drain but it was clean and met our needs. And while the buildings are starting to look ‘tired’, they do try to keep thr surrounds neat and tidy. I would happy stay here again.

$30 for one night for a clean, modern room with a refrigerator and microwave. Unbeatable! The usual price is $ 50 a night so always good value. Right next to the I5 and a very wide choice of restaurants or take out places some walking distance and 2 minutes by car.

No frills is overstating this room. The room was clean but bare minimum poplor quality towels. No coffee. Just a couple of plastic cups.

The unit was clean; however, there was an issue with flies. Perhaps they were coming from the vent. The outside air had a chemical fertilizer smell. The Harris Ranch restaurant at the gas station was a great place to eat nearby.

The rooms are not soundproof, so when I was trying to sleep I kept hearing some pissed-off dude yelling at somebody outside one of the rooms, and it kept me up. The area feels unsafe and there are tweakers and other crazies that stay at the property. No breakfast, but there is free coffee. The location is convenient, next to freeway.

Check in was good. Room was very hot as the heater was left on high. Upon entering I had to leave door open for 30 minutes to cool room off. Tried to turn on air conditioning but it just blew hot air! I shut it off and had to sleep with window open to keep room cool. In the morning I wanted hot water for tea and all they offered was coffee.

I had a very helpful front desk person help me out . My first room had a wonderfully comfortable bed and beautifully upgraded bathroom, but the a/c wasnt cooling. She immediately found me a better room with wonderfully cool a/c , nice enough, Dennys a short strool-and I didn't see the Subway Sandwich shop at the Valera Gas Station till we were leaving. We meant to get a place in Coalinga, but this turned out okay, friendly people.
