Ocean View Lodge

Best location in Ft Bragg, great staff. The view from the room window ranks among the best I’ve ever had in hotels or resorts both nationally and internationally.

Our stay at Ocean View Lodge was fantastic. The room was spotless, spacious, and incredibly relaxing, with a beautiful view that made mornings extra special. The staff were professional and respectful, and everything felt well organized. Every detail made it feel worth every penny. We’d absolutely stay again. It was very close to town if you like to walk or bike ride. The tub was perfect and very relaxing.

We’ve stayed here several times and love the location. The decor is wild, lol, but it’s part of the charm for us. The room was clean, comfortable, and the location is fantastic, which matters way more to us than the decorating choices. We loved being so close to everything while still having a comfortable place to come back to and relax. I’ll go ahead and say it though….I wish the balcony rails were about 4’ shorter so we could enjoy the view better from sitting. Would we stay here again? Yep. Without hesitation.

The best thing about this property is the view from the room. It really is beautiful. The exterior/interior needs a major update. The rooms were clean with ample space. The coffee machine, mini fridge, and microwave were all useful especially for our 3 night stay. However, when we checked in, we were told that there wasnt housekeeping the next day. We thought perhaps they were just short-staffed. On a check-in document provided, it does state that housekeeping services have been suspended. The next day, we noticed housekeeping staff working and were confused also by the tip envelope in the room with our "housekeeper's" name. When I inquired at the office that no one has refreshed our room, the young man said that housekeeping has been suspended since Covid. I explained that nowhere on the online reservation does it say that daily housekeeping isn't provided. He argued with me. I checked again, and there is no online disclamer about no daily housekeeping. For the price, and a three night stay, I would expect housekeeping to clean the bathroom, empty trash and change sheets at least once. We're staying on the beach, afterall. The property should be transparent PRIOR to booking that there is no daily housekeeping so that guests can assess if what is offered meets their needs. This wouldnt be an issue for one night, but a three night stay is too long to go without a refreshed room.
