Nice new property - larger than a typical Holiday Inn Express. What I liked: They had a bar and grill - the service was friendly and the food was really good (truly better than expected). They had an indoor swimming pool - and my boy was very excited to go swimming. What I didn’t like: They unexpectedly charge an extra $25 to your card when you check in. Supposedly “this will be credited in 3-5 days if your room checks out ok after you leave”. This is BS… I stay in hotels several nights a week and none of the others (including HIX) do this. The pool was too cold to enjoy. We forced ourselves to get in, but it was freezing and no fun. This was a shame - I’m sure it’s heated, but apparently the heater is not turned on. IF the pool was warm, I’d make this my regular go-to stay in Mobile (and I’m there a lot…) The other negative is that breakfast isn’t included in the stay. It’s sit down / order from the grill’s menu only (but there is coffee service).

The hotel is very close to where son lives we have been coming down here for 5 years and we usually stay here the staff is friendly the rooms are clean they always bring us extra towels if we needed we also use the exercise room my only complaint that there was no disinfect to wash the machines down I did bring my own can of Lysol that would probably be my only negative otherwise will be coming back

It wasn’t very clean at all, I moved the night stand over because I drop my charger and there was so much piled up little pieces and paper and crumbs, the bathroom ceiling had mold on it, and there were little roaches in the bathroom which is why I checked out early, if I wasn’t so tired I would have check out on Monday instead of Tuesday

Booked the room for July 4th when I got to the room it had trash in the trash can dirty towels laying around the room dirty bed from the people before. Staff didn’t have anyone that could go clean the room or another available room

Very nice rooms,very clean. Property was extremely clean, personell was very helpful and friendly. The only thing we did not like was the fact that when I booked the room we were suppose to have transportation to the airport, arrangements were made and confirmed for it and when we checked in they told us they could not take us to the airport. It made it very hard for as we had a very early flight home and we were scrambling to find a ride.

Bed wasn't especially comfortable and TV was on a fixed stand so had to adjust sitting position rather than television position. No separate desk area so all work/eating had to be done <3 feet from TV. Spent several nights in Mobile over the past two weeks and found a lower priced, roomier, better furnished with a FREE breakfast at a "lesser' national chain that was much more conveniently located to restaurants. Property was difficult to locate. GPS directions were really off. Mentioned it to the check-in clerk and they said "yep, it's kind of hard to locate". Not their fault but definitely not a plus. Signage help. Was expecting much more from a Holiday Inn. Bar prices were stupid. Same bottle of beer at Hilton Garden Inn was $4.25 cheaper ($2.75 vs $7.00). Staff was friendly and helpful and the lobby clean and bright. Hall carpet was dingy and smelled (of smoke??). Would not stay at this property again, especially with the number of other options in the area.

Angela who work the front. Yes, was very, very helpful and guiding me from the interstate to the front door of this tried using gps. And it did not work at all, but miss Angela took time and carefully instructed me on how to get to her. Every turn an landmark to make. And watch out for after after coming. Come into the hotel. She greeted me so warm and wonderfully. She also explained to me about coffee would be available at all time and fresh. She explained the room to me where I was going to be how I was going to part. She was so kind and nice and with a smile. I feel like I will come back again and again and again. Because I was warmly received.

Front desk staff acted like it was no big deal that the guy in the room nextdoor was screaming at, threatening to kill his kids and sounded like he was beating them. I got the impression they were living in the hotel and the front staff knew him.

Not so good. Came for a quick, quiet birthday weekend. Had zero sleep due to a group of teenagers a few rooms down. They ran up and down the hallway, yelling, slamming doors all night. I went out in hallway and asked them to be quiet a few times and called front desk around 3am. At that point it was so late we maybe slept 2 hours. The only good thing was the young lady that checked us in when we arrived.

Service was bad from the moment I arrived. The girl at the front desk was too busy talking to another employee to check me in. Also, I chose this place because it had a restaurant with an bar and after a long work day I didn’t want to go out to look for food and a drink. I was told by the server/cook that the bartender would be back in few. I had to wait about 15 minutes, only to have a grumpy bartender telling me that I couldn’t have a margarita because he didn’t have the stuff to make it and that I had to pick something else. I had ordered a quesadilla to go and when I opened the box in my room, it was swimming in grease… so, no dinner and no drink for me because by then, the restaurants around were about to close. The next day I left my room to go to Starbucks but I forgot my coat and when I tried to open the door the key no longer worked, so I had to go without it because I had no time to go back up after the front desk guy (who was friendly and helpful) fixed my key. The bed was was bumpy and uncomfortable (usually hotel beds are very comfortable) but the place was clean.

The room itself was nice. Trouble with getting the shuttle from the Airport (When finally showed up, they said only they were there to pick up the Airline people). The driver did let us on after discussing it.. another couple were also told they would be picked up and they had to find their own way. Paid for Hotel to Port and they oversold it so we had 4 people in a 3 person seat. Not safe for the $74 we paid for the transportation. Again this is the only complaint I have, the Hotel room was perfect!
