Nice room, bed not very firm. Staff at valet and restaurant very nice. They need to have the rooftop bar open during the day, as there are no other area to hangout. There are no patios or pools.

In Bakersfield there are not a lot of options for a unique and stylish hotel. This is really it! It's a fun older hotel - almost 100 years old but very well kept and rooms are clean and upgraded nicely. There is a "rooftop" bar but we assumed it was on the "roof" - could have been cool to see the view. It's actually on the 2nd floor and they had parties there both nights with a cover so we didn't get to try it.

Staff and room more wonderful. Nice lounge area in the lobby. For a pet friendly hotel it was awful because there's no place for your pet to relieve themself on-site or nearby. No on-site parking.

Loved the hotel room! It had a modern design and was quiet. The area around the hotel seemed safe. The parking was the worst part. There doesn’t seem to be free over night parking near by. I had to pay for valet.

This is the best hotel with great customer service, comfort, character, nice amenities and clean. No pool and rooftop bar is not actually THE rooftop…and only open on TH-SU. I believe they’ve taken all measures to make sure this is no longer a party hotel. To the point where things close up a bit early. But this hotel is so adorable and the staff is super friendly. They will go out of their way for you. I highly recommend this hotel is the best hotel in Bakersfield

Every was lovely: nice decore, comfortable bed, great staff, very clean EXCEPT for when I arrived there was a long black hair hanging on the body wash container. I avoided it during my shower, and the next morning I let the front desk know that the shower needed to be cleaned a bit more thoroughly. I left for some business but when I returned, it was still there. The room had been attended to but the trash was not emptied and the gross hair was still there. I informed the front desk and they sent someone immediately to remedy the issue. This person was very thorough, and I definitely appreciated the quick attention.

Been wanting to check out the Padre for a while. Hit it in August, when it's extra hot in Bakersfield. Got a spacious corner room with a nice view of the town. Room was very clean, very nice. Didn't take advantage of much else in the hotel, but it was a great stay.

Clean, comfortable large room and bathroom. Furniture is worn and needs updating. Liked the big windows, bed comfy. Only one elevator working, we’d walk down stairs and I’d wait for the elevator going up…kids would walk up. Not a big deal for us, but if you rely on it could take a while or be very crowded. Breakfast was ok, not a lot for price paid. Staff person forgot my latte and I had to ask about it after three people behind me in line got their drinks.

An older style hotel, very classy. Interesting and unconventional wallpaper design in hallways. Had rented one of the "Maverick" rooms and was put on the 7th floor. Elevators seem of older age and were decently fast but the card reader (to scan room key and go above 3rd floor) wasn't working well and one had to hold the card over it for several seconds which confused some guests. Room was very clean and nicely furnished. The bed was weirdly uncomfortable and I found that a down-filled mattress topper was used. The feathers were sticking out in multiple spots and made the experience uncomfortable. The shower drain was also clogged. Both items were fixed after reporting them to the front desk staff. The HVAC system in the room was a little loud but one could turn it off for the night. I appreciated the wired internet connection which was way faster than the free Wi-Fi which also was not behind an annoying login portal so I could easily connect my own Chromecast to it. It was however so slow at some points that I had to use my phone's data connection and hotspot. Parking is hit or miss. Sometimes the streets surrounding the hotel are already full of cars and you need to park farther away. Hotel staff told me parking was not really enforced and that was my experience during my 1-week stay.

The hotel overall is very good. The beds are comfortable but the pillows ( there is 4 pillows on the king bed) go down to nothing. No support whatsoever. In my room there was an ottoman at the end of the bed. The ottoman is black and so is the carpet, my husband took a horrible fall in the middle of the night. Not safe!!! The coffee shop serves excellent coffee, And the restaurant, although limited menu, had tasty food. The room service is very good too! I’ve stayed at this hotel twice and both times had problems with my room not getting cool enough! This time I had to use a maintenance fan to be able to cope with the heat! The service staff overall is 5 star, from reception, valet, cleaning and so forth! Very friendly, professional and caring!

Great hotel! It’s such an easy check in and out. The valet parking is so convenient and the restaurant and bar are really nice. The rooms are clean and the beds are so comfortable. The rooms have everything you need for your stay. This is the second time I’ve stayed and I was traveling alone. As a female traveling alone I knew this is where I would feel the safest. I will definitely stay here again.

The frontdesk clerk had the most unfriendly attitude when checking in. 20 min after we had checked in, my wfe went to ask her a question and she immediately went away from the counter making my wife wait for her for about 5 min (probably she thought my wife would go away if she wasnt there). She was brisk and court, in other words, unapproachable. At the restaurant, I asked for a ribeye stake medium well, instead, i got it medium rare; the waitress argued the stake was indeed medium well so i was able to eat only part of it. We definitely didnt have a good experience there. The check out clerk was nice, though.

This hotel is the worst. I used valet parking, and during the night, my car window was smashed and my child's school bag and a camera disappeared. The hotel didn't inform me of this until I called the Concierge. The front desk said nothing, even when I checked out. I asked what was going on, but they said they couldn't take responsibility. Why would anyone use valet parking when staying at a hotel? Terrible service, I never want to think about again. I was furious at their unprofessionalism and irresponsibility. The padre is unqualified, in a word.

The hotel was beautiful. The room was beautiful. The problem was the THUMPING disco music coming from a nearby club. My husband got dressed and went to the lobby at about 1:15 am and was offered ear plugs or be moved to another room. We were told the hotel was completely booked so how can they offer another room??? I was trying to sleep with pillows over both ears for hours. The music finally stopped at about 1:45 but we were both so ticked off we couldn't even then go to sleep. The next morning, when checking out, we were told that we signed a waiver regarding noise in the area. Well if the waiver had said "there might be LOUD THUMPING disco music till 2:00 am - a lot like Water Torture" we wouldn't have stayed there. Padre Hotel has a big, big problem. I have never rated a hotel before, but this was the worst hotel stay I've ever had.

I stay here often for business and basically hybernate at the hotel. I usually eat breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and the food just isn't quite as good as it used to be. They were out of a lot of items on the menu as well. The room and service are excellent. If it weren't for the food I would have give 5 stars

Lovely ambience in public areas and restaurant. Liked the small room. Nice shampoo etc products. I just don't understand why it took 65 minutes to prepare a burger and small salad, on a Monday night with 3 tables seated. And the burger was only mediocre. Dessert blondie was excellent but again, why another 22 minute wait? Would stay again.
