IALNA Boutique Hotel

What guests think

IALNA Boutique Hotel sits inside Ioannina’s castle walls, offering a small, stylish boutique stay with clean, comfortable rooms, warm and helpful staff, and a standout, varied breakfast, all within easy walking distance of the lake, shops, and sights.

Many guests praise the tasteful blend of modern design with historic character and the overall value. However, parking inside the fortress can be difficult despite permits, and the building has no elevator, so luggage must be carried upstairs. Rooms are generally spacious and well equipped, though a few mention tight quarters for three or minor noise. Best for travelers comfortable with stairs and limited parking who want a character-filled stay.

Facilities are limited by the historic building: there is no elevator and luggage must be carried up stairs. Parking inside the castle is challenging; permits allow parking within the walls, but spaces are scarce and access is via very narrow lanes.

The bed is comfort and the hotel is small and beautifully designed. The only thing that bother me a little bit that we got the room in the second floor and there is no elevator so it was a bit difficult to get to the room with the luggage.

My stay at Ialna hotel was amazing. The location is great, the interior of the hotel, the exterior and my room where beyond what I expected. It is very modern but has a traditional feel. My room was spacious and comfortable. The service was also great. When I come back to Ioannina, this is where I will stay. The only difficulty in the stay was with parking. The hotel is inside the fortress and the roads are very small. Parking is very hard to find.

The room was great, the breakfast was great and the staff were all great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that isn't driving. I think the amenity of "free parking" is not accurate. That typically means parking on the premises, but in this case it means you get a parking pass that allows you to park anywhere on the street inside the castle that you can find parking. Not always a guarantee, and driving through the castle is not for the faint-of-heart. I got stuck in a narrow turn, driving a rental Hyundai Kona, and could not get through without assistance. Even then I scratched the fender and will probably have to pay extra to the rental company.

It is a nice hotel WITHOUT AN ELEVATOR and you will have to carry your own bags up the stairs. The parking IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT and took us 1 1/2 hours to find a spot on a Sunday evening at 7pm after driving 5 hours. If neither of those things bother you, it’s a clean, attractive place in a good location and a value for the money.

Staff was amazing. Albanian girl at the front ( sorry I don’t remember your name )Knowledgeable and pleasant. Afternoon girl girl ( again don’t remember the name ) Very helpful and made an excellent coffee. Spotless clean facility and rooms. If you will be driving keep in mind very very narrow roads since you literally need to enter a castle and drive inside. Very close to shopping and the huge lake. Beautiful area. Rooms are oddly spacious. If you are tall like me (6 5) May want to watch your head at spot STRONGLY RECOMMEND

Alles ist gut fußläufig erreichbar. Ich kann dieses Hotel nur wärmstens empfehlen. Eines Tages komme ich wieder hierher!

The IALNA Boutique Hotel is a modern new hotel located in the Castle (Old Town) area of Ioannina. Great location, close to the beautiful lake as well as all the town's main attractions and restaurants. We were welcomed by Afrodiate who provided us with useful recommendations regarding great restaurants and close by cute villages overlooking the town and lake . We also had the privilege of meeting Amalia the owner and architect, who is behind the very well planned interior design of the rooms, and every little corner of the hotel . Amalia shared with us the very interesting history of the building before it became a hotel. Breakfast was very good with variety of cold and hot dishes. Enjoyed the stay and would gladly come back and recommend to friends.
