Toilet was broken in my room. They said didn't have another room to move us to but maintenace would fix it. Maintenance did not. Had to use bathroom at Dennys nearby. Next morning at 5 AM wanted to use bathroom, went to front desk to ask if I could use one in the office. They said No- gave me a key to a room to use that bathroom, I did not use it. Upon checking out, asked to be fully refunded, person at desk first argued the toilet was not broken. We went to room and he saw that the flushing button was in fact definitely broken. Still would not fully refund, gave me $50 reduction even though a working toilet is a basic requirement for a habitable room. Called Customer Care hotels.com , they contacted Vagabond Inn who said they gave us another room which was completely false as the key they gave the next morning was to just use the bathroom. Now having to file a legal complaint. Would caution anyone that management at this property is not accommodating, honest, nor reputable.

It’s an old, run down hotel. The pictures they have on their site have a couple huge trees that are not there. The door to the hotel had such a large gap when closed that the traffic is so loud. No privacy sheer curtain so you can’t keep your curtains open. If you keep your curtains open every person passing is looking in your room (creepy). The maid service starts early and their carts are extremely loud. I thought it was an earthquake. My key card kept getting demagnetized and not working and I had to get new key cards three times! If you want a budget hotel, this might be okay for you. I would rather pay more and have a decent location and room. I had a deluxe, 2 full size beds. The rooms are really small. The walls are extremely thin. I could hear everything and it was annoying.

It was about the least expensive place I could find, so there's that. And it was pretty clean, if a bit shabby in places. The modernization of the furnishings was nice, but most of the outlets were intermittently functional and the GFCI was entirely non-functional. Not having a fridge-let was a bit of a pain, but we made do without. Fresh air is a bit difficult as you have a single window and a single door, both on the same wall, so we slept with the window open. The window locks in the track don't work, so the window was wide open or closed. The parking lot is a bit of a hot mess. There's a narrow gap to get through both directions, because the gate at the rear of the property is locked full time. Lastly, the hotel is in a flight path, so that open window comes at a cost. We were also there while the local fair was going on right behind the property. So there's that. But it was clean and inexpensive, so it did what we needed it to do for us.
