Extended Stay America Suites - Ramsey - Upper Saddle River

The staff was kind, Professional & Amazing, I left on Saturday noonish returned late Evening all the used towels were on the floor and bed unmake, I called no answer, went to the front desk I was informed they clean every 2 weeks, when I asked for towels I was given a trash bag to FIRST bring down from the 3rd floor before a fresh set was given, on Check out day I had to leave around 6am the elevator was not working walked to front desk who informed me it broke at 3am, so I had to walk up 3 flight of stair and back down.with help Heavy luggage, BED NOT COMFORTABLE, PILLOWS SMALL & UNCOMFORTABLE ALSO, ALL ROOMS SMELLED LIKE HOMELESS PEOPLE STAYED, SHOWER PEALING, NO SHOWER WAS GIVEN JUST 1 SHAMPOO, SMALL SOAP BAR, THERE'S A SINK NO SPONGE, OR DISH DETERGENT,

Their fee for our dog is less expensive than many other hotels, and although pet-friendly, the hotel does not smell like it.

Beds were hard as rocks, we weren't able to get clean towel even when we're were told if we brought the old ones down we could get new ones. The elevator was broken and according to another people staying has been down 3 times in as many weeks. Internet seemed to have a fee in order to gain access. Rooms smelt funky.

Due to bad wearher the Satelite tv was not working. No ice machine.

No working elevator and I'm 71 years old and staying on the 3rd floor.

There is plenty of free parking!

Wow, BIG DOGS ALLOWED. The smell of urine and especially feces 😱 near the handicapped parking and the front entry was bad. That being said the guy who checked us in (Allen dark hair, newer employee) was especially nice to us. This is only our second stay at one of these hotels but we like them because of the large fridge and microwave.

The room was fine - only thing I didn't appreciate was there was no ice machine...

The check in was smooth, room was clean, the only complaint I had was the smell of weed all throughout the halls. The place was quiet. Plenty of parking available. Overall satisfied with my stay

We needed a place to stay for the night due to travel. The rooms were clean but had the smell of cigarettes. "Breakfast" is truly grab and go! Located right by the exit doors. Coffee and single small muffins.

Upon check in the hotel clerk was nice but that was the only thing nice about the hotel. My room was on the third floor and when I stepped out of the elevator there was an unpleasant odor. Then as I walked towards my room there was a lot of trash sitting next to one of the hotel doors like two trash bags full plus a microwave. I thought oh god please just get me thru the night at this place. I had a long night out in NYC and was looking forward to a shower before work. To my surprise as soon as I turned on the water the entire faucet head popped right off!! That was my last draw at this place. No shower, the breakfast made me feel like I was in prison waiting for a meal rationing. The breakfast started at 630 i got there at 7:15 to find one muffin and a few oatmeal packets left. It was obvious they only wanted each person to take one item only. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here!! Dirty, broken shower, prison breakfast. Pay a little more and stay somewhere else.

Dirty and noisy,no recommend

The hallways reaked of cleaning chemicals and our room reaked of smoking. We couldn't gdt out of their fast enough.

Calling this place "extended stay" is like calling Alcatraz "extended stay". I have never stayed in such a dirty hotel-- and they had the audacity to leave an envelope clearly marked to leave a top for housekeeping! Yeah right. The floor had not been vacuumed, it had dozens of stains, and the ceiling had stains too-- how does that happen? Hand and footprints n the back of the door? Every piece of wood-veneer furniture had the edges of the veneer rubbed off. The TV didn't work and the stand was broken, it was about to fall over the entire time we were there. The whole hotel reeked of marijuana, body odor, and desperation. From the instant we walked in to the moment we left the smell of pot permeated the entire property, legalization notwithstanding the property was marked as nonsmoking, but they must have just meant tobacco. Thanks to sub-par soundproofing (if there even is any) I discovered that this hotel has a front-row seats to the racetrack/drag stip called Route 17. Normal traffic wasn't a problem but the speed demons come out at night and race up and drown the strip into the wee hours. "Breakfast Included" has a very loose meaning apparently, most inexpensive hotels with free breakfast at least have yellow pucks made of eggs and greasy sausage links but all this place had was Nutri Grain bars. I'm told they had plastic-wrapped muffins but they were all gone by 6:45 one morning and by 7 the next. One of the two mornings they hadn't made coffee yet. Thats it. Avoid.

The hallway smelled like a mix of a wet towel and urine. The lights were too dim. The room wasn't so bad but one of the lights over the table was out.

Every room had a smell, there was a roach in my room…switch rooms and the shower curtain rod was practically falling off…I would never stay here again!

This hotel was filthy. The shower looked like it had never been cleaned, the hallways smelled like smoke and the floor in our room had white stains everywhere. I wish I could post pictures because it was truly unbelievable how gross this place was. Additionally, the “breakfast” was just packets of oatmeal.

Hair on beds and towels, dirty room, curtain wouldn’t close all the way, full size beds not the best. Smelled bad in the halls and in the room.

I chose this hotel because they allowed dogs. It was supposed to be a non-smoking hotel, yet wreaked of cigarette smoke and also marijuana. There were cigarette burn holes in the furniture, bathroom had mold around the showerhead. There were holes in the walls. It was a complete dump.

The overall experience was far less than I was expecting. Not one glass in the room, nothing to use in a kitchenette… despite cabinets and drawers, and a fridge and microwave, there was no way to actually use them. You have to buy any glass, knife, fork, or spoon, or any dishes, from the motel!!! And if you do buy them, when you leave, most likely you cannot pack them aboard a departing flight as in my case. The front lobby was dirty and crummy, with outside debris blown in through the always open front door. I’ll never, ever stay at an “Extended Stat America” hotel ever again. A rather crummy experience!!!

Right off the highway and close to the mall. The furniture in the rooms are old along with the heating system.

I booked the room so I can have the ability to cook, however I was told they didn’t have pots and pans available. Go figure!

I did not like the extra firm mattress it was tough to rest. However the staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Being a mini suite with kitchenette it was very disappointing that you were not providing any utensil or plates or anything at all in kitchen area.

Bed was terrible

Ok for what I needed but very noisy being it’s on a highway.

Your room will not be cleaned unless you ask for it. The beds are comfortable and although you have a kitchen, it has zero utensils to cook or eat with. The staff is okay. You have to ask for extra towels at the front desk. The noise from 17 is rafely a problem. you have to empty your own trash.

I stayed for 2 evenings and now my back is out from the horrible bed we slept in. The parking lot would have been softer to sleep on. Hated it.

There weren't any silverware, dishes or cups in the cupboard-no coffee pot in the room. No cookware. So why is there a kitchenette?

The General Manager was awful! Very poor customer service! I will NEVER stay here again! I also found a roach in my room! Disgusting! I would not recommend this place to anyone! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! It’s a rip off. The front desk staff was amazing. They were the only good thing about the hotel. All except the general manager. A lesson in how to treat customers is definitely needed.

Arrived at 2:30 am there was no one at the front desk had to wait about 20 mins until a lady came and told me that I have to wait 10 more minutes but that anyway there was no rooms available even when I already paid for it. Why do they accept reservations and payments if there is no rooms.

We had a bad experience at a hotel and checked out to find this one and we’re glad we did. Would definitely recommend based on location and ease of travel near.

The daily staff goes above and beyond to accommodate your needs. They are friendly and quick to help you. The daily staff made it a pleasant stay. The location of the hotel is convenient as it's right on the highway and easy to drive to other locations. However, it is not walkable and guest should be prepared to drive everywhere. The hallways and rooms could be a little cleaner. The grab and go breakfast is decent but lacking in some areas like juice and water.

Breakfast could be much better

Bfast is so limited.. its a grab and go, so if your expecting something warm other than coffee.. then this is not your bfast. The staff is ok.

At check we were told about the grab and go breakfast and check out by 11am. Nothing else. The muffins were awful and bars were puny. There was no paper or pen in the room. Nothing to tell you what was available nearby. Housekeeping never came to the room. The sign for the hotel was hidden by a tree. It had no leaves, but there were so many branches we didn’t see it until we had passed the entrance which wasn’t marked.

This property was overall good experience for me and my boys the only thing was I was upset about it was I said it served breakfast we got downstairs to eat breakfast all they had was muffins oatmeal and coffee not in a drink for my kids no water no juice no nothing

Breakfast was barebones, breakfast bar, or muffin and coffee. But overall very decent for the money. Love having a full kitchen and refrigerator in the room.
