Best Western The Inn at Ramsey-Mahwah

The only thing is that they don't have an elevator. There is only 2 floors and we stayed on the 2nd floor. Sunce it wss just for 1 night it was ok. There was a stale smell in the room but once the fan was on it went away quickly. I recommend this Best Western on 17 S and the restaurant Pib 17.

The restaurant bar is no longer open . The outside could use some TLC service that were nice and the room was decent and decently clean

Everything was fine. It would’ve been nice if the waffle machine worked, and even though it was only a two story building, would’ve been nice to have an elevator.

Convenient location and economical for visiting the New York area. Was disappointed that the facility was somewhat outdated. Our room had plumbing issues our whole stay. Rear entry had no security locked door. But the staff was very courteous and friendly.

Front desk staff very friendly. Room was comfortable and clean. Amenities are basic for most hotels. The only issue with parking on weekends is that Pub17 next door at night time gets really packed so they take all the parking for hotel guests. I needed to park all the way in the back which was dark and looked very sketchy, a bit nervous walking back by myself. Also my room was upstairs right by the door that divided the rooms and the staircase, every time someone went through it the door slams very loud at all hours of day and night. Extremely annoying, don’t get a room by it. The tv was a nice size and lots of channels. Hallway was clean but floors look very slanted something didn’t seem right with them. Breakfast was just ok eggs, sausages. Waffles etc. Overall my stay was ok. The outside looks worst than the inside, they should put a little bit of care to the front to make it look more inviting. Don’t be fooled the the pic on the site.

Shower ran very hot or very cold. Workout room had no towels or cups for water. Breakfast was average.

Room were very clean and quiet but corredors, lobby and staircases needs upgrade. Carpet and wallpapers on corredors look outdate and dirty

This HOTEL HAS COCKROACHES! We had to change the room. Although new room provided did not have cockroaches, your whole experience is ruined, you also question do you want to eat at this hotel when they provide free breakfast

If the guy that checked me in wasn't so nice, this would have been even worse. 1. Roaches 2. No smoke Detector 3. Water pooled on wrong end of bathtub because floor is not level anywhere. 4. Walls and ceiling peeling, cracking, holes, water damage. Overall pretty horrible. 5. Stained light shade 6. Almost no water pressure. Had to turn the shower cold to get enough pressure to get a shower. This is just generally the worst room I ever stayed in. I stay in 40-50 hotels per year. Even around NYC, I would never pay $200 for this room. I expect this at the $100/$150 price level. I took my belongings back outside to stay in my car away from the bugs. The bed was ok, no bedbugs to be found.

This place is awful. Cracked walls, crooked floor that you can’t even walk straight. The bathroom tiles were all cracked and broken with grout all over the place. The shower was all mouldy and the fixtures were hanging out of the wall. Found a disgusting bug that may have been a cockroach. Can’t believe they charge people almost $200USD for this dump. Awful!!

We had roaches! Yes, two were crawling in our room. It was disappointing and disgusting. I will never stay their again or recommend this hotel.

Saw a bundle of hair on the bathroom floor when I walked in there. Walls in the room were stained and dirty. AC did not seem to work.

Very clean room with crispy sheets and impecable bathroom. Furniture was in great condition

The room was at a slant toward the hallway. Door in bathroom did not close due to rubbing on tile. Coachroach on the last day showed up in my bathroom. Back doors 2 and 3 often didn’t work due to loose security cables according to front desk. They did try to repair them, but said if customers closed door hard they would fall offline. Breakfast was okay, but eggs and sausage were weird consistency and texture. Room was clean. Maid service was on it! Rate was affordable. Just needs some TLC for the building to make it more appealing to stay at.

Had a nice stay. No one bother us but the walls where pretty thin.

The floor of this hotel is so slanted, you almost fall over while walking across the room. And my feet were dirty from walking around the room. The Pub17 had really good food.

Check-in was quick and pleasant because the desk staff was polite and professional. The hotel is immediately adjacent to the highway and this can be noisy for rooms facing the road, as I was. Staff could've assigned me a different room on the opposite side of the property, as the hotel didn't appear to be full.

The hotel is in need of some upgrades. The floors throughout the hotel were so lopsided. The breakfast was good.

The Heating system was impressive because I am the person who is really exhausted by the sound of heating system while I am sleeping, fortunately, this property's heating system was quiet and I was not bothered at all during my 3 night stays.

The hotel was a bit run down and the room we were given was like you were in a fun-house. It sloped towards so much so that you felt drunk walking in the room. The building felt like it was either falling down or about to like there is a foundation issue. We were there for only one night traveling from South Jersey for a party up north. Will never stay there again. I thought the price was great but you get what you pay for. Never thought in Ramsey that they would have hotels like that.

Overall good stay for the price! Nice breakfast, very comfortable beds, and super hot shower will good water pressure. Everyone was nice! Cosmetically the place looked pretty old and dirty, but nothing we couldn't handle.

This property was horrific. If you have vertigo, DON’T go. The hall way floors are no leveled, the rooms are crooked, and it just made me sick walking through there. The older Woman who’s in charge of the breakfast in the morning was the rudest person I’ve ever met. She kicked people out of the room because it was 10:15am (breakfast ends at 10) , but I’ve traveled sooooo much and I’ve had many continental brealfast, and I’ve never seen someone get kicked out lol the guests weren’t even being rude. I’m surprised there was a tip, but not surprised it was completely empty. The food was disgusting!!! Everything was distasteful. I tried going the safe route by making myself a waffle, but the waffle had a sour taste to it and I left eating cereal instead of a hot breakfast. Our tv didn’t work and we had to call someone to take a look at it. We were only able to play 1 Chanel the whole night. The WiFi also didn’t work, so my 16 year son wasn’t able to do his homework. This place was a nightmare. Dont waste your money here.

This hotel was nice and clean with comfortable bed & pillows, however the check-in was a nightmare. No one was at the front desk. I waited and kept calling out for someone. I called the front desk and it just rang and rang. It took almost 10 minutes for someone to come check us in.

It was a relief from my last experience. The breakfast lady probably needed help but all in all it was a really good staff and everyone was friendly and fixed issues right away

We were impressed with the friendliness of the gentleman at the front desk when we checked in that night. Also, we received excellent service from the woman who maintained the breakfast area. A great stay and a great value for the money.

Check-in was efficient. When we realized that there wasn't an elevator to the second floor, desk clerk Mohan quickly volunteered to carry our luggage up the stairs. He immediately took the our heavy suitcase (we had 2 backpacks and another carry-on bag) and brought it into our room. We offered a cash tip for his service and he adamantly refused to take it. We had other interactions with Mohan and he was always efficient, helpful and courteous every time.

I had a neighbour that was loud ignorant and inconsiderate of others. I tried calling the front desk to complain at 1230 am but no on picked up. I went and talked to said neighbour. He said why didnt I call the front desk? I told him and i said it's me. I was polite and so was he. So I thought. Wasn't long before the loud music and yelling started. This went on til at least 430 am. Stull no one at the front desk. This is unacceptable.

I stayed at the Best Western The Inn at Ramsey for an overnight visit and it was just what I needed. The hotel was quiet, comfortable, and made for a very restful night. The room was clean and had everything necessary for a short stay. The staff were friendly and check-in was easy. It’s not a luxury spot, but for an overnight stay, it’s convenient and reliable. Overall, a solid choice if you’re looking for peace and comfort without any hassle.

There was a truck right underneath my window, idling off and on all night loudly. I called the hotel to ask if he would do something about it and his answer was really confusing and gave me absolutely no confidence that he was going to do anything about it….. And nothing got done about it. I realize the truck was one of the only issues I had that evening, but it does show the level of care staff had with this concern at 11pm. I had a bad night sleep

Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast options were great. I'd stay here again if I was in the area. Location was along the highway and there wasn't easy walking access to places to eat but that's easily solved with a quick drive.

Located approximately 60 yards from the highway, the noise can be disturbing. The rooms are run down and the hallways are musty. The staff was not very attentive when we had problems with the television and the shower had nothing but ice cold water even after running 5 minutes. When complained to the front desk person he was just concerned about the television working and did not even comment on my ice cold shower. Honestly for the amount of money that it was being charged I would have expected a lot more. This was a 1 1/2 star hotel at best. They need to update their hallways common areas and rooms dramatically and make sure that there's hot water for the guests

This stay was fit for purpose. The service was excellent and hospitable. We were on a road trip and stayed here in order to be close to NYC to drive over in the morning. The breakfast was super convenient. I would definitely recommend this, but suggest setting expectations going in that the property, while nicely maintained, is a bit older.

The location was convenient, the comfort of the room was tolerable for a short stay. Very uncomfortable to sleep with super solid pillows. So hard that I felt my neck hurting during the night. Was also noisy due to the pub next door, people leaving at 2 in the morning, yelling in the hotel parking lot. The room had a smell but luckily we were able to open the window and get fresh air. Not the first time a BW hotel has disappointed, not booking with them again.

Recently stayed one night in a King Room with Jetted Tub, room 120. I checked in late, around 11pm, the younger man who checked me in was friendly, and we chatted about the restaurant next door that shuttered, which I was sad about, as I had a great meal there a previous time I stayed here a year ago. The room was clean, comfortable, AC worked well, as did the fridge, which quickly cooled my drinks! I like the renovated rooms and the jetted tub was wonderful! The bathroom has a few issues though, some grout is missing, the tub train was detached but did work when placed in drain, and shower head was loose from wall, but pressure was great, and plenty of hot water. I could have used another bar of soap but the products smell good! It was a very quiet stay, I didn't hear any noise from hallway or other guests, and love the 12pm check out time! Breakfast is until 10am, it was crowded, but we luckily got a table, the room is a bit small, and the food is lackluster. I stayed at another BW in Massachusetts that had chocolate milk, whipped cream, and a wonderful yogurt dispensing machine, none of which this BW offered. The scrambled eggs were okay, some hash browns were burnt to a crisp, and the sausage looked dehydrated/gross and didn't taste good. The danish and muffins were bland tasting and I mostly filled up on cereal and yogurt. The quality of the food can use improvement but the lady was friendly and stocked everything. I'd stay again and often visit annually!

The property needs serious updating. Exterior doors don't lock, furnishings are very dated and worn. Sheets and towels were clean as was the room but hallways are musty and hallway & parking lot were noisy at night. The breakfast was not appetizing - powdered eggs were watery, bagels and english muffins stale and home fries cold. Find another place to stay.

Great service! The only thing was the cafeteria was very small. We felt rushed to eat. But overall great!
