The Rockport House

We are an elderly couple on were put on the 3rd floor of a very nice hotel without an elevator.

Nice. Walkable to shopping. No breakfast as advertised. Wouldn’t have paid the price. I picked a lower price room and had to walk up three flights. No elevator.

Room 9 was charming, with a comfy bed, nice bathroom, and view of the harbor. We loved having easy parking and an Interesting quick walk to town. Chatted with other travelers while enjoying complimentary beverages on the lovely front porch. We Seattleites would love to return someday!

Wonderful stay at Rockport House. Recently opened the styling is pure luxury! Comfortable beds, good A/C, outdoor seating/swing.

Very nice property, easy to get to. Parking was easy, too. It would have been nice to actually see a staff member for a personal touch, but everything was done via text and email.

Wow! What an amazing place. So close to rockport and bearskin neck, literally a 5 min walk! The staff are lovely and let us check in early to store our luggage. The space is gorgeous, modern designed Victorian manor, most places like this have a musty smell but this place is very clean and modern. Modern amenities, the shower is divine, the property itself is stunning and spacious. There is lots of parking. The tv has modern streaming networks, temperature controlled rooms, and the beds are so unbelievably comfy. I would recommend they have more durable bed frames as when you move around it is a bit creaky. And the acoustics with other guests aren’t amazing but they’re decent, if you really value privacy tho it may not be the stay for you. We really enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend this property.

The exterior of the house is wonderfully Victorian. The interior decor is art deco -- a little of a disconnect. Everything was very clean. The coffee maker didn't work and had obviously not worked for the previous guest. Plenty of parking, good value for the off-season price, and very convenient to the center of town.

Nice view and sitting area on the porch. Great laundry facility. Victorian charm throughout.

Stayed here for an unexpected two nights. Stayed in the captains quarters room on the third floor. Amazing views of Rockport, lots of space that is utilized fantastically. The corner nook was a great. Furnishings tasteful and comfortable. The walk in shower was spacious. Check in was simple and easy, was texted promptly after booking. Free laundry in the basement with two washers and dryers, came in super handy. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Rockport or the area in general. Will definitely find myself here again!

This is a beautiful home. However, you really only have access to your room and one common area. The entire home is used for guest rooms. There is no elevator, so you do have to carry your luggage up/down flights of stairs (we were on the 3rd/top floor), which is a bit sketchy. Unfortunately, the coffee pot in the room did not work, so we had to go up and down the stairs each day just to get a cup of coffee, which was not ideal. I thought this home was a bed and breakfast, but it is not. If you are looking for a hotel room, this place is okay for that.

Beautiful property and building. Quiet, easy to check in and out. Pristine facilities and rooms. Will absolutely be staying here again.

No onsite staff. Check-in and checkout completely remote which may be acceptable to some but not us. Some personal service and attention would be appreciated. Found shower curtain and bar laying on the floor of the room. Electronic locks on doors are confusing.

A beautiful property with clean, modern rooms. Only a short walk from the town. Easy access to get into the room via a code. Bed and pillows were like sleeping on clouds. Lovely hot shower. Self catering. Owners are happy to answer any questions. Would highly recommend. We would stay there again.

The room was easily accessible, very clean with plenty of linens . Self service check in and check out. I was impressed with the spacious living quarters, large fridge and roku tv. I would definitely recommend this quiet retreat whether passing through or here for an extended stay.

Gorgeous property nestled in a quiet neighborhood that is walking distance to a small waterfront town center. The property was clean and quiet and my partner and I had a lovely weekend stay.

Walkable to adorable shopping area with restaurants.The whole town looked like a seaside fairytale, with this property adding to the charm. Thoughtful room layout with very comfortable furnishings, but please put up some hooks by the door. Loved the contactless concierge where door access codes are sent to you via email, but please be aware there was some confusion as we were provided multiple codes, one of which did not work. Overall loved the stay and will recommend to others!

This was a unique, pleasant experience. We stayed in the herring room. It was spacious, clean and comfortable! We would definitely stay, again!!!

Beautiful house in a picturesque New England seaside town. Room was comfortable and clean. Check-in and check-out instructions were simple and clear. We would stay again and definitely recommend.

It is a beautiful old house turned into a hotel. There is no staff, but they were easy to get in touch with via text. It is an old house and the wood floors are a little creaky so he will hear some noise from other guests, but nothing that you can’t deal with. Very convenient to downtown Rockport and a nice little sitting area for coffee in the morning.

The room had amazing features and was larger than expected. Great tv options, amazing linens, and a spa shower. Plenty of high quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. The only improvement would be to add a small supply of beach chairs to use and an 11am check out time instead of 10 am. But overall 10/10.

Great place to stay in rockport! Felt very high end. Definitely will be coming back. The only thing is, since it’s an older building the fan in the bathroom kept making a weird noise. But it was also very windy, so that was likely the reason.

Would have given all 5’s but noise level was bad. Could hear doors and footsteps. Otherwise loved the place and the price!

We loved our room, it was beautifully renovated with everything we needed.

The room was extremely nice, big and comfortable and very smartly appointed, but they should have concentrated a bit more on practicalities rather than just looks. There was only one hanger in the wardrobe and no hooks anywhere to hang up anything. The windows had either blackout blinds or nothing so anybody from opposite or walking past could see straight in and that includes the bathroom. We saw one unfortunate young lady running completely naked across their room next door. The worst complaint, however, is the incomprehensibly complicated and convoluted booking and check-in procedure. Everything has to be done online filling in forms, uploading photos etc after which a dooe code is supposed to be sent before arrival. This would be via email or possibly text and as we were in the road with no wifi we needed a text and requested same. Maybe because we didn't have US phone this never arrived so surprise...when we got to the place, we could ot get in and it was raining cats and dogs. We eventually got hold of someone on the phone and she gave the required code but could not explain how to access the internet so once we were finzlly in the room, had to repair to a nearby bar to be able to open our email and finally be able to read the email detailing everything. Except the wifi didn't work...so yet another call and we were eventually given the staff access code to wifi having spent over one and a half hour on this palaver. Never again and a shame as it is a nice place.

Sign in was super easy, not a traditional front desk. Everything was handled electronically.

Mae was very helpful in helping me locate the remote for the air conditioner which i couldn't initially locate. Very friendly.

It's disconcerting not getting your entrance code until just before you arrive. I understand they don't want people to get in early. But, if I'm traveling 300 miles on a Friday, I want to be sure I have a place to be able to get in to. It's quaint. It's clean. iPhone and iPad wouldn't connect to the WiFi. A little pricey and out of the way for my purposes.

No staff on site but room was very nice. Very close walk to all shops in town. Staff very responsive. If I had a complaint which really isn't one . Is the hot water doesn't get hot enough for my liking and there is nowhere to sit to put my make up ...would highly recommend to anyone

This was such a great little place to stay. An old historical home decorated very modern and tastefully. Everything was comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. It's remote staffing and I thought that was very interesting The person monitoring remotely was very accommodating very quick to respond to everything. This stay was very nice. I would definitely be returning to stay here on my next trip to Rockport! They did a really good job at this place

A beautifully presented 1890’s house which has had a complete refurbishment this year into a boutique hotel. Situated in a nice residential district of Rockport, within walking distance of the town. It’s a lovely town with cafe restaurants many small shops and art galleries. Remote check in and check out which worked but I’m of an age where I prefer to see a person at reception for any problems. Would definitely recommend.

Clean and comfortable. First experience with remote staff who were very responsive. However, we and a number of guests we spoke to would have liked more information on how to use the keypad entry, tv, and the coffee machine. Those were areas where it would have been handy to have someone to ask.

Didn't like first: The window in the bathroom had two screws loose, allowing more cold air to come into the bathroom even with the shade pulled. The whole room needed more lighting - it was difficult to see in various places in the room! The right curtain closest to the heater side of the bed, would not close entirely; it seems to be somehow off the upper track - had to fix that, too. Did like: the house architecture was gorgeous, and ice available in the sitting room was a welcome sight, the bed was nice and hard, the covers warm and cozy, the mini-fridge and Keurig nice additions. Didn't Like: hard to figure out at first how to get in the building, we didn't have the link to the code at first and there were almost too many online instructions, from Expedia and Rockport House separately. Check out was nice to be done online. Was glad to be accommodated for by having a first-floor room since I walk with a cane. The direct phone line to the house was well answered in times of need. We loved our stay at the Rockport house! Very reasonable price, clean, gorgeous bathroom and room, and walkable to town! It was the perfect home base for our weekend away to visit Salem and Gloucester. It’s important to note there is no staff onsite but that wasn’t a problem for us. We didn’t have a problem; but they were pretty responsive to text when we had questions. It was convenient to have a keurig in the room with plenty of coffee pods to choose from. Wish they had more creamer options and herbal teas in the main lobby but that didn’t subtract from our stay at all.
