they really need to remodel this place. It was a cheap place to stay but the breakfast was a joke and the room was a sauna. Wallpaper falling off the wall with mold. Gym out of order, juice machine out of order.

Where to begin…no one was at the desk when I arrived, then was asked to “wait a little bit” during the check in process so the attendant could let the elevator repair guy in and then show him what the problem was. The 1st room I was assigned to was in a auxiliary building that had no security (outside doors open and room key not needed to get into building). Room door had a considerable gap around it and I found a wad of dirty/used tissues on the bed when I pulled back the sheets. When I called the front desk to inform them of this I was promptly offered a 2nd room in which none of the lights worked and we had to unplug and replug in, them along with a power strip that the tv was plugged into, to get them to finally work & then when I pulled back the bed sheets they had stains on them. Again, I brought this to the attention of the staff and was offered a 3rd room. The attendant showed us to a room to inspect it prior to moving rooms again and this room didn’t have any obvious cleanliness issues so here we are. Overal the cleanliness of this hotel leaves much room for improvement and if I hadn’t booked last minute with a no refund cancellation I’d be writing this review from a different hotel.

Never stay here. Showers barely functioning. Free breakfast - a joke. Juice machines didn’t work. Fitness center not avail - room filled with random junk. A lot of sketchy stuff going on in parking lot and immediate surrounding area.

Prices are fair. But the doors to outside hotel are broken locks. Open at all times. Didn’t feel safe. If I was alone I would t stay at this hotel. Also the room was kind of clean but very old in style and carpet. Sinks wasn’t clean. Chair had marks. Refrigerator didn’t work and I had things that needed to be cold. The toilet was not a good experience at all. It definitely needs a new toilet seat. Carpet also is very old. And kind of smelly. It was a non smoking room.

The TV worked well. The place looked ruff and we wondered how safe us and our car would be.

Lock on door was broken and deadbolt didn't work

HORRIBLE. I stepped into the hallway of the “back building” and immediately turned around. Lights flickering, outside access door wide open, could see my room and the door was wide open. They lights wouldn’t even turn on. Backed up to a truck stop. Smelled awful. Straight out of a low budget horror film. I felt so unsafe I immediately left property to find a clean/safe hotel. Not sure how this place is still operating.

It's an old structure inside and out, the parking lot is full of construction vehicles and an adjacent lot featured several abandoned trucks. Our room was outdated, although clean and serviceable. Smell of smoke in the hallway. Very hard to find from the main drag in Effingham. The only saving grace was a Starbucks in walking distance. We don't recommend this Days Inn.

It was average. Fitness room not open. Room just okay. Plenty of places to eat near it. Good for one night stay

Room is big. Other than that the place was pretty gross. Cracked ceiling plaster, stains on everything. Just overall old and gross. Not clean. Side doors arent locked, so not secure either.

The room was horrible water stains and mold ,the carpet was torn and dirty the bathroom had stuff stuck to the walls and cobwebs in the corners .I don't recommend this hotel at all.When telling front desk was told ok have a good day .Rude!

The bed sheets and cover were dirty and smelled bad, floor was sticky and dirty.

Staff that checked me in was fantastic! Personable, relatable and very professional. The front was under construction. I hope the rooms are next. Good bed, but room was old and musty. The room was surface clean, but I dropped a pen and moved a side table. Dust and dirt stacked up. I found a box cutter under the table! The side chair has stains on it. Good place if you just need a break from the road.

We stayed in a double beds room. After driving all day, i went to bed minutes after getting there. My husband, woke me and said his bed was not changed. It wasn't tucked in and also had hairs on the pillows. The trash can was full of debris from a prior guest. It also had toothpast spltters on the sink and mirrors.Since my bed was clean, we just used that one instead of moving.

Mold in the bathroom, wall paper coming off the walls and stained carpet.

The room was dirty. There was a load boom during the night but staff was very friendly.

The air conditioner did not work the first day. They replaced it during the middle of the 2nd day.

I had a room that I could actually smoke in. But I'm guessing there had been a fire sometime in the past. The outer wall wallpaper was bubbling badly and one outlet by the beds had had electrical tape over oneplug in spot previously. So. I couldn't even charge my phone until leaving

Wallpaper had ripples in it, and a couple places looked like it had been cut with a knife. There were gaps around the heat/air conditioning unit, where I could see light from outside. There was too much outside light to sleep comfortably, pillows were too thick, beds were too high off the floor. For the price paid, I believe they can do better than this.

Convenient off/ on the highway. Several food places within walking distance & a pub as well. Bed was super comfy.

Good bed, crappy pillows. No heat. AC/heater was in horrible condition. Did not have the capability to heat as it would not function properly.

I stayed in the back building. Staff member was friendly and efficient , but the hotel itself is a little scary. Old and tired finishes, smells slightly of mould and a lot like weed. Walls are thin, so the yelling and swearing Neighbours kept me up. Bed was relatively comfortable though. I guess you get what you pay for, but regret having reserved this one.

Staff was friendly and place was clean. The place is in serious need of updating. Could hear noise outside of the room. Side door into building was not locked all night. Bed springs on right side of bed were broken…my husband almost rolled off bed a few times!

We rent d three rooms. One was okay. One have the wallpaper falling off the walls in many places and dirty handprints all over bathroom walls. Many of the wall outlets did not work. We were pretty disappointed

The family that runs this hotel are really awesome. They are kind and very friendly. It was a quick and efficient check in. They welcomed my dog with open arms and had a dog of their own, who was very sweet, beautiful, and friendly.

GREAT hotel!!! EVERY staff member is sooo polite and very helpful!! They ALWAYS had a smile on their face!!! None of the reviews we had read were anything close to correct!!! Okay so they need a few updates, but doesn't everyone??? NO bugs, VERY clean, NO smells, the water pressure was great!!! And we were here a week so I have no idea what other people reviewing this location were even thinking... The location is wonderful and MANY resturants to choose from!!!

Charged credit card twice and put 100 hold for damages without consent or telling me

staff was friendly. some items showed signs of wear. but at least they were remodeling and apologetic about that.

It looked like moisture /mold under the wallpaper on the wall around the a/c unit. Very rundown appearance overall. I was too tired to complain after spending 2 hours trying to check in. At least the beds were clean. Phone lines weren’t working to the front desk. I checked in online with Expedia and accidentally booked the wrong day. The front desk attendant said I would need to contact Expedia to have them change the dates. When Expedia tried to reach out to the hotel the phone only rang continuously with no answer. I had the same problem when trying to contact them about their pet policy. So not only did I have to book another room for the correct night, I probably won’t get my money back because Expedia wasn’t able to get ahold of anyone at the hotel. I filed a request to get a refund but again that will only get approved it they are able to get in touch with anyone at the hotel. Lesson learned to pay more attention when booking.

Heat didn’t work. Turned it to 90 and it still blew cold Front desk worker was rude called my room phone at 1:30 in the morning because my guest who was on the reservation was in my room

There are two buildings and we were in the second building. There is no key card lock on the door to this building and people can come and go. All night long to people next to us were talking and the walls are paper thin. I prepaid for this reservation on expedia, and the motel charged me three times. Still trying to get my money credited back to me. Would not recommend staying here to anybody

My elderly aunt booked the hotel through my phone. This made check-in difficult since we were unable to print the information before we arrived. The hotel had limited information and was not able to check her in easily. The entire hotel smelled like old cigarette smoke. The people checking us in/out were eating at the desk and very unclean themselves. We had to move rooms because the safe light was flashing. We were told it was supposed to be fixed and was returned to inventory. I was with my 2 70+ year old aunts and had to move all of our suitcases to our new room. If it had not been a late evening after driving from NJ I would have immediately looked for another location. The highlight was that the breakfast area was clean and well stocked.

Appeared to have new air conditioner but had not been caulked so could see cracks to outside-hope no bugs came in! Enjoyed free breakfast especially the premade wrapped omelets.

Close to the highway

If it wasn’t for the cool bar right next door I wouldn’t stay here. But you get what you pay for and it’s not expensive.

Great shower and towels. Older property needs some tlc. Could be a little cleaner for the price. Refigerator not cold enough. Breakfast very good.

It said that you get a free newspaper in the lobbies but the staff said that they don't have that and it is listed in there amenities, also they had coffee pots on there counter in the lobby but there was never any coffee. the other thing was that the bed in our room was hard as a rock, couldn't get a good nights sleep.

Overall property conditions were pretty poor. Rooms had water damaged wallpaper and window frame/drywall was falling apart. Carpet in hallway and two rooms we stayed in was very bunched up and not stretched correctly. For the price, they should definitely be going more to keep up the property. Breakfast was limited selections and limited food as well. Paying $83 taxes for a double queen room is pretty steep for the accomodations. Definitely set your expectations very low when staying here, so they don't get dashed when you see your room.

Loved how our last minute stay turned out and thanks to the lady at the front desk, I wish I remembered her name, she was outstanding in giving us the best room since our initial room had an issue with the ac. Super budget friendly and bonus is you don't have to check out early morning on an empty stomach as they do offer pretty appetizing breakfast 😋

The room was bad. Wallpaper falling of walls, stapled around AC. AC switch broken bathroom ceiling tiles nasty, mold on walls. Usually at Days Inn - but this one I would not recommend. Breakfast was bad too. Take a look at Paris Texas and Joplin Mo properties compare those to this one.

hard to get to poor breakfast not all that clean just and old build

The place had obviously been redone recently, but not to a high standard. It was shabby the ceilings was poorly patched, the shower curtain was coming down, the air conditioning looked like it had been leaking and about to fall off the wall. I couldn't figure out how to set the air conditioner. The address for the hotel was not found in my navigation system, and didn't see any signs from the road about where it was. Although the price was good, I could have sworn it included breakfast, and it didn;'t . I will not stay here again.

This Days Inn was affordable but the definitely needed some work. The wall along the window looking out on the parking lot had been damaged by water. The wallpaper was completely loose from the wall. The chair next to the window had stains that looked like it also had water damage. The beds were clean and the bath was acceptable. The breakfast was okay but there was no decaf coffee and no fresh fruit.
