What guests think

At Baymont by Wyndham Effingham, travelers often find clean, comfortable, budget-friendly rooms and welcoming staff, but recurring drawbacks include traffic noise from the nearby interstate and truck stop, some dated features, and occasional maintenance or cleanliness issues.

Many guests praise the free hot breakfast, though others report limited selection, items running out, or food served cold. Facilities are basic: the pool is closed, there is no elevator, parking is ample for larger vehicles, and laundry machines may be out of order. Overall, it suits quick road-trip stays more than extended visits.

The actual stay was awesome. The parking wasn’t good because they had a full house which is great for them

The pictures show a nice pool which is permanently closed. Garbage in the hallways. Located next to a truck stop, with trucks idling all night. Room key stopped working on the second night after a long day. Had to walk back across the parking lot to the lobby to get it activated again. Room was outdated in my opinion. Very old carpet and drapes. Large stain in the ceiling. No normal pillows for the bed, more like square throw pillows? Stray cats hanging out inside the empty pool! Very loud other guests in the hallway in the mornings both days? Obviously not the property's fault with that. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Don't be fooled by the pictures and don't bring your wife here, she will not be happy.

Definately Noisey from the interstate. You will need somevtype of sleep aid. But place was clean. Bed comfy. Breakfast was good but could use some fruit / yogurt. Parking for truck and 5th wheel was perfect. The balcony was weird. You share a segragated balcony with the door next to you? Kind of creepy... in case you had a preditor next to you.

My first visit and I'd go back anytime. The hotel and the staff were lovely, and the price was right. A special bonus for me was that there was a lot dedicated to parking RVs or in my case, a 15' truck with a car transport attached.

It looks like a revammped hotel. Fixtures are old and dust is everywhere, carpet is old and not clean. The money they charged was definitely too much. Baymont used to be at least holiday inn caliber now this is what 2001 motel 6 was.

Nasty Hole filthy dirty carpet. Stunk of pee smoke and animals. Two queen beds were actually twin beds worst bed ever tried to sleep in sat up in chair most of night trying to breathe. Beds were small with coil springs barely covered by blanket material. Pillows were small and hard like grandmas couch cushions. No coffee. Ice bucket but no lid. Kept bag in tub looked like bedbug city. Not a dime has been spent on this place in years. Health department needs to close it down. Ac filters full of old moldy dust and pet hair. Outside looked good breakfast was good. Nasty loud bar and busy truckstop Nextdoor. Would of been what I would expect for. 39$ dump but way overpriced for this dump.

Property was easy to find as its right off the highway. Also, this is the reason for my rating. Room had a door toward the highway, I’m assuming is from when it used to be a motel and now it’s a dirty patio. Very loud noise comes in old door. Room was relatively clean, compared to others at this price point. Breakfast had many options and was clean. Overall ok for price, but very noisy.

Property has room doors to the outside facing the interstate and as such our room was very, very loud. Curtains not dark enough to block out the light from the interstate and nearby truck stop. Beds not comfortable. I also booked a two queen room on Orbitz and got a two twin room, which added to the bed uncomfortableness for four people. Staff were nice enough and the property was very clean, but would not stay here again.

There is a reception called K.P.(i am not sure whether I spell the name right) who is very rude，speaks Hindi when he check me in and i am pretty sure he was complaining. I can tell by his face. And he was laughing when we were trying to check in and makes me feeling that he is mocking us，but i don't even know this guy！！ That reception gave me a very terrible experience in this hotel，will never come again！！

Our entire stay was one of the worst hotel experiences we've had. The room was dark, damp, and smelled of smoke, despite being a non-smoking room, and the carpet was sticky. The continental breakfast was awful. We arrived an hour before breakfast hours were over and there was almost nothing available. The only bread products were 4 mini-muffins, the waffle batter was empty, the milk ran out when we tried the cereal, the sausage was undercooked and still cold in the middle, but the eggs were tolerable if you covered them in ketchup. The staff member when we checked in was not very friendly or helpful and clearly didn't want to be there. He sat there watching during breakfast, but only refilled the coffee and eggs, even though everything else was empty. Their website said they had cribs available (which is one of the reasons we picked this location over another), but the guy didn't even know what they were, made a call, and told us they just didn't have any, period. Then when we were going back and forth to load up our car, the keycard stopped working, even though it was 30 mins before checkout time, and we had to find someone to let us in to get the rest of our things. That two positives were that there was decent (hot) water pressure in the shower, and the staff member when we were checking out was very polite and helpful. We would not go back, even if the room was free.

This hotel is right in the ramp to the highway next to a truck stop. The noise from the trucks was so loud! Like a freight train. I barely slept at all. I even tried to cover the noise with sleep sounds radio on Pandora but that didn’t even help. Bring earplugs and be sure to ask for a room on the back side of the hotel, maybe that will help. Parking lot was pretty dark and being next to a truck stop made me a bit uncomfortable. The hotel was clean and staff was nice.
