At SpringHill Suites Mishawaka-University Area, travelers praise the friendly front desk team and generally satisfying free breakfast with good variety, while noting dated spaces, intermittent maintenance issues, and cleanliness that ranges from spotless to areas needing a deeper clean.

The location is convenient for Notre Dame and close to many restaurants and shops. Facilities are mixed: the pool has at times been closed and the hot tub removed, though parking, laundry, and the fitness room worked for several guests. Some guests experienced noise from large sports groups and sharp rate increases on football weekends. Overall, expect a friendly, budget minded stay with variable upkeep.

Hotel is decent. The hot tub in the pool area is gone, looks like they filled it with cement. This was the main reason why we booked this specific hotel. The pool is open till 11pm, If you enjoy ice baths the pool is just right for you. The room was nice, besides the heater did not get warm and the fridge doesn't stay cold. Other than that a decent hotel for the money.

We stayed one night to break our drive. Our room was clean, quiet and relaxing. The breakfast attendant was cordial and we enjoyed the selections. Unfortunately the pool was damaged by children, hence closed during our stay. We would book again.

The property and staff were nice. We loved our room and breakfast was okay. Had a baseball group of teenagers and they were very rude and inconsiderate. Was being very roudy and caused the pool shut down. My children were so upset because we booked this hotel for the pool.

Would highly recommend this hotel, staff was very accommodating and understanding especially because my husband and I were not feeling well. We really appreciate the staff working with us to make sure we had everything we needed. The continental breakfast was great! The machines worked at the fitness center. The laundry worked as well. Room was spacious and comfortable. Thank you for a great stay!

The stuff was very nice and friendly and we had a nice stay. The breakfast was good and coffee as well! However, there were some insects (spiders and ants) in the room where we stayed. And overall it wasn’t very clean. It’s a good choice for this price.

It was evident that the hotel could use a good deep cleaning. The grout in the bathroom was black in the high traffic areas and cream in lower used areas like corners and near walls The same with the carpets, darker in high traffic areas like between beds and lighter in closets and desk areas.

When we arrived the computers were down. So, they checked us in on a piece of paper and gave us room key cards. When we entered the room we noticed luggage on the bed which felt very uncomfortable. We immediately went back to the front desk and asked for another room. They ended up giving us an adjoining room that we could here a casual conversation through the door and that was disturbing. The staff was friendly. This may be the last time my wife and I book at Marriott or with Hotels.com for that matter.

I was in town for a family emergency. My mother was in the ICU at the hospital that is so very very close to this hotel. All the way from the front desk to the room to the pool to the breakfast provided and the cleanliness of the overall place to the social atmosphere that seems so welcoming with all the other guests living their lives in the lobby and the patio area our experience was amazing. Especially dealing with what I was dealing with. Every single member of the front desk that we had interactions with during our 5 days stay was compassionate and empathetic and seemed that they literally would have followed through with their words that if there was anything they could do to help us but they would.

When we arrived at the Marriot Springhill Suites around 6pm, June 2, I entered the lobby to find the front desk unmanned. After waiting a minute or so, I saw a guy, who I thought by his dress was a vacationer joining my wait for a desk clerk, come through the door from outside. His shirt looked like a colorful T-shirt or beach shirt. Instead, he greeted me asking if he could help me and he walked behind the counter and began pecking on a keyboard. I was stunned he was a representative of a Marriot property in that attire. They lack signage to show the locations of things like the elevator or ice machines. In our room, we discovered the refrigerator door open. The ice in the freezer was so thick it would not allow the door to shut. I informed the desk clerk of the problem. While we were at dinner, the maintenance man apparently removed the door to the freezer, left the thick ice coating in place, and threw the freezer door in the bottom of the refrigerator. The bottles we placed in the freezer did not freeze as we hoped. The sink had sediment deposits caked in it from a dripping sink. Is it too much to expect a Marriot property to provide equipment that functions and is in good repair? Maybe we cannot count on a major brand to deliver an expected quality.

Convenient to alot of shopping, breakfast was good with nice selection. Checked in late and was very tired. Was told to park at end of building close to room and use outside door. But the door would not open, after walking around to made entrance. Went to room, unfortunately it was being occupied. Went to man at front deck, and got another room on 3rd floor. Went to ice machine on 3rd floor and that also was out of order. Liked the size of room and was comfortable & clean. Had a 3 night stay and woke up 2nd night to some one beside my room smoking pot I think think it had a bad smell coming into my air unit it gave me a headache made me sick to stomach. Sad that people do that in hotels.
