The room was clean. The pool was nice. The location was why we chose to stay here. There’s a great restaurant nearby with senior priced ($15.95) dinners which were great. We also found a pizza place within walking distance. The beach was a short drive but parking was crowded. We enjoyed our stay & would return again.

This Motel 6 is like a well kept secret, but once I discovered it l have stayed several times. The front desk is nice & very accommodating. The gentleman helped me several times ie. needing an address, etc. The housekeepers are hard workers & efficient. None of the staff here are into your business. The rooms are nicely decorated, quiet & must be soundproof, each room has a closet 2 times the size of a coat closet, newer windows that open easily, laundry room with the top load old style Speed Queen washers that clean clothes much better than the front loading newer models & SQ dryers one time run gets your clothes dry. This is not your usual Motel 6, but must have been some other motel/hotel before. It's brown brick with the cleanest off white ceramic tile walkways connecting all rooms, ice machine & vending machines. A clean outdoor pool, too. They are Motel 6 Carlsbad, North.

The floor was not clean and the smell in the room was horrible. I asked for the floor to be cleaned and still the room smelled like urine. It was bad! The AC also smelled… the air coming out of there had a nasty odor. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

We could handle the fact that it was bear to the bones - no shampoo/conditioner, empty Kleenex box. What was hard to handle was the rust, everywhere and the dirty floor. An old place, yes, but if it had been clean... And some things really should have just been replaced, like the hair dryer (we were afraid to use it) and the microwave.

The sheets felt like they were not washed or changed in a couple of days. I felt itchy after I left. I checked the bed for bed bugs and found none. The bed had a lot of hair on it. The room was clean. Bathtub had small hairs , so I cleaned it with a napkin. The bed was comfortable, it was a quiet area , next to vons (just in case you need something). AC and TV worked fine. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here.

They room was nice and the linens were clean and fresh but the floor was dirty. I was walking barefoot and when i got in the shower the tub was black from my feet being dirty. This happened after i arrived at the room that evening and i wanted to take a shower after a long busy day. The noise level was bad at night and could hardly sleep. I was placed in the last room (203) by the freeway. Also, there was a dog barking off and on throughout the night.

While the overall facility was fine for this level (expensive for a Motel 6 right next to the freeway, priced at a premium because of summer tourist demand), the floor in the room was absolutely filthy. I wiped down some spilled water and the towel was black with filth. The property overall condition was fine, but parking is tight, but lack of room cleanliness will prevent me from returning or ever recommending this facility to anyone. Also no shampoo, fortunately brought our own.

Superb staff, check in was great, later we asked for a couple of extra pillows and he brought them to our room. Room was super clean. It is the nicest looking Motel 6 we’ve ever seen, inside and out. One thing is if you have the windows open the freeway noise is really loud, but fortunately once you close the windows they are pretty effective in eliminating the noise.

First off, every staff member that I encountered, from those at the front desk to those cleaning the rooms, was extremely kind and accommodating. Unfortunately, I was unable to get any names, but everyone went above and beyond to come across as friendly and to help us out whenever possible, whether that was asking for spare garbage bags or if we could keep our luggage up front for the day. It doesn’t sound like a lot, but I promise that the service was incredible. The wifi was a bit spotty and wouldn’t connect whatsoever to my laptop and I did troubleshoot a bit(restarting the device, playing around with the firewall, etc.). However, that wasn’t a deal breaker and honestly was the only downside of the place. The room itself was pretty spacious and cozy. It had modern lighting, a bed with plenty of pillows and a warm blanket that was done up nice, a shower with adequate water pressure, and the couch was a nice touch as well. Compared to other stays in the area in terms of quality and price.

The room was very spacious and clean. The staff was very helpful. The refrigerator in the room barely worked and the faucet was nearly broken. Very tough to turn off the water. Pro: Easy access to highway 5. One exit away from Legoland. Plenty of parking. For the most part room is clean. Beds were somewhat comfortable. Con: Way over priced for what you get. Not sure how this property got so many stars. Customer service is lackluster. Never stayed somewhere where shampoo was not available in room. Had to ask for in from front desk. When I did they gave me a bad look. Room had a moldy odor once my family and I walked in. Make sure you bring your own hand soap. Hotel close to highway so you can hear the traffic. Not good for families. Overall, not worth what I paid for. Maybe I would stay here again for just myself but not with family.
