Wyndham Garden Appleton

What guests think

At Wyndham Garden Appleton, reviews highlight spacious rooms and a convenient location near airport and shopping, while also pointing to renovations, frequent hot tub and pool outages, and inconsistent cleanliness and breakfast that can range from excellent to understocked.

Guests often enjoy quiet nights and comfortable beds, but some report HVAC noise or temperature control issues, worn fixtures, and patchy Wi‑Fi on lower floors. Service is frequently praised as friendly and helpful, though a number of reviews cite slow check-in, billing mix-ups, and poor communication about closed amenities. Expect a convenient base with trade-offs; check amenity status and room condition before arrival.

Nice hotel and breakfast- but pool needs some fixing - lights did not work in the night and tiles in the bottom of the pool came off and you have to watch where you step.

It was great that the BW Plus Airport Hotel was on Lu 7 min. to the airport, but I was disappointed that they didn’t have a shuttle to the airport so had to spend another $15.49 on an Uber to the airport.

We loved the family suite we booked. Very very nice. Alot of room. A little bummer, the hot tub was out of order. The kids loved the pool, but the pool itself was falling apart. Large cracks, actually a few holes in the concrete, they reported that there were actual small piles of stone in the corners. Weird.

If I knew i could have made other arrangements. All in all this hotel was good bedsides this . The staff is also wonderful.

The pool and hot tub were out of commission due to renovations. The A/C was loud so I had to turn it off for the night. The window had a torn screen so I couldn't keep it open for bugs to fly in. The fan in the bathroom didn't work. They started construction on the lobby at 7 am which disrupted my breakfast.

The hallway to our room smelled terrible, like puke and cleaner. I informed the front desk, they offered to move us to a different floor. We were only there two nights and needed to help with a relative’s wedding…we didn’t have time and it would have been a huge effort(just me with two kids and a lot of luggage). I thought they would do something to clean or at least do something about the smell. It was worse the next day. The staff were polite, however it did not make up for that smell. The jets in the hot tub also didn’t really work and getting into the pool area was a challenge due to a door issue ( they had a hand written sign with instructions) we had to yank very hard to get it open. Overall it seems the hotel needs some maintenance and better cleaning. They also need to show some response to reported issues with the facility.

Arrived late night/early morning. Check in was quick and easy. Didn't notice until the next morning that the toilet was VERY dirty under the seat....so gross!!!! Also was only a partial roll of toilet paper and no extra's. On my way out I told the front desk and when I returned to my room it was clean. Bed was pretty comfortable, pillows left something to be desired.

Staff was fine. Hotel was completely disgusting. Rooms, hallways, and pool area were a mess. The sprinkler system apparently set off a week prior and flooded the entire hotel, the entire place smelled horrible and musty. Absolutely no mention of this when booking a room. The entire hotel should be abated before opening again. Everyone that booked a room should be refunded.

Hands down THE DIRTIEST property I’ve ever stayed in. I was checked into room 227 on 10/23. Once I entered the room, the closer I looked, the worse it got. Not a single surface had been wiped down. Then as I’m studying the bead I can see one side looks more wrinkly than the other- then I pull the comforter back and could clearly see that the sheets didn’t get changed. I went down to the lobby and they switched me to room 229. Also dirty. Not a single surface wiped down; and the surfaces had obvious food residue and grease on them. At least I could tell the bedding had been changed. (HOPEFULLY). The most disturbing night of “almost” rest. Disgusting. I will NEVER stay with Best Western again. I thought I was staying in a quality property. It was a clear reminder why I pay $250 a night to stay somewhere. The only good thing about the prop was the nice staff.

Called to see if early check in was available and told “we don’t do that here”. Asked for a quiet room, high level, and away from elevator (when booked 3 mo in advance) and at check in was given a room right around the corner from elevator on 2nd level. Heard every footstep from room above us! Bathroom tub had a couple hairs on sides upon check in. Shower curtain had black mold (yes we told front desk about it). King sized bed was ok for comfort (was a Serta sleeper) although other competitors hotels have more than 4 pillows for a king. Did not stay or use breakfast. For hotel location, lack of cleanliness and noise levels; will not recommend to stay here as the room was $225 with fees and taxes. Other hotels in area offer stove tops, Full sized refrigerators, are very clean, quiet and in a nicer location for at least $50 (or more) cheaper in price!

The room is really beautiful with the view of water. However the fridge was so noisy and unplugged it to sleep. No wifi in my room on the first floor. I needed to work so it was a huge issue. The staff told that was normal on the first floor but I could used the lobby. Unfortunately the wifi was poor at the lobby too. No more help from the staff. The breakfast was empty at 7:15. Booked for EAA. Room was not cleaned the whole of our 6 day stay but we did get clean towels when we asked. The breakfast was pretty basic and by the last day of our stay the choice was very limited as they said they had run out of food! I feel the hotel was very overpriced for what it was, but this will have been due to the heavy demand for accommodation during Oshkosh. It may be better at other times of the year.

The room was decent and clean and renovated. However, the hallway carpets I don’t think were vacuumed the three days we were ther. breakfast the first day, even though there was an hour to go yet was pretty bad. The waffle batter was water, literally, and the eggs were sitting in about inch of water. we skipped the next day breakfast since we didn’t want to go back, the third day it was better. We put the placard on the door saying we would like our room made up, just wanted clean towels, at 8 o’clock in the morning, When we left the hotel at 3 PM, we asked at the desk for clean towels to be brought up, when we got back to the hotel at 10 they still were not there.
