I'm unsure why Expedia lists this hotel as all-inclusive. Be cautious when booking— I paid extra for all-inclusive, only to discover it covered just the room. There is no entertainment at night or during the day. To me, it's more of a hotel than a resort. The food is also not very good.

The stay was decent. I don’t want to fully complain because overall I had a good time but honestly the little things sometimes matter to me. The phone in the room did not work so I had to walk back and forth from the lobby if I needed something. There were mosquitoes and gnats flying in the room - I was bit multiple times. We did not have doors or balcony open at all during the stay- the bugs were there as we walked in. The buffet wasn’t the best. There weren’t many options at all. There was a bad stench because of the washed up seaweed. The waters were brown because of the sea weed as well so we couldn’t get in the water. Not their fault but it was nasty. The staff are always trying to seek something, will give you a price and then add tax after you say yes. Which always results in an extra $20 charge. Very annoying. However, it was clean other than the gnats and mosquitoes in the room. The fire show and the mariachi entertainment was nice. The pool and swim up bar are great- The drinks were flowing- I recommend the mango tango- it was soooo good. I went on an excursion which is what mainly made my trip better. It was a decent trip.

Horrible experience! Staff at the front desk don’t give you much info! For example, the plastic free, therefore don’t expect your refrigerator to be stocked up with beer or soda cans. They leave you a plastic picture and expect you to fill up water at the fountains, which is not a big deal but hello at least leave some soda cans in the fridge. 2 hrs within I will check in. We decided to use the pool, we went to pick up towels and realized we didn’t have towel cards. We went back to the room only to realize they were never given to us. So I went to the front desk and requested for towel cards. The gentleman at the front desk argued with me saying he’s pretty sure they were given to us. I said to him if they were, I would not have come to you. He then proceeds to say this time around I will give them to you, but next time I won’t.. dude we know the drill, we know how to cards work. It’s not our first rodeo!. How rude! Food is horrible. They need to do a better job with the buffet. We only had choices between the Mexican and Italian and there was only one restaurant open every night. The hot tub was not working properly, the Jets were broken. Not much entertainment going on. But the staff at the pool tried their best to engage in volleyball and other beach activities but hardly played any music at the pool. Drinks are watered down! The dude at the lobby made better drinks! The beach was gross, but can’t fight Mother Nature! It was covered in seaweed and stunk so bad.

A great place to just hang out and enjoy your time in Playa. Staff were amazing and helpful at every turn. Restaurants were top notch, especially the Mexican restaurant. Summer seaweed was a constant stinky headache, but that's not the resorts fault, they cleaned it up every morning.
