At Devossion By Live Aqua Playa del Carmen All Inclusive - Adults Only, many reviewers praise the friendly staff, clean grounds, pools and beach, and the convenient location near Fifth Avenue, while dining variety and wait times receive mixed feedback.
Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with many enjoying ocean views or upgrades, though a few mention plumbing or construction noise and limited soundproofing. Facilities like the spa, cabanas, and bars earn praise, but some guests note cabana wear, midday pool residue, and an unsightly ocean barrier. Overall, expect a stylish, service-forward beachfront stay with lively surroundings and dining that can be excellent but sometimes limited or slow.

Le site est très beau les piscine wow! Le personnel très attentionné. La nourriture est excellente. Ambiance super pour un 18 ans et plus, relaxe mais agréable…musique lounge, afrohouse à la piscine. La plage est la plus belle du secteur. Aucune algue durant notre passage.

The facilities were great and the building was impressive. The best aspect of our experience was the staff and their friendly manner throughout our stay.

The hotel is absolutely stunning, with great service and some of the best room cleanliness I’ve experienced. The pool and beach are excellent as well. When it comes to the food, I would personally prefer less variety and a higher overall standard. They really do try very hard, but as someone who has stayed at Live Aqua in Cancun, the food there is significantly better. For example, at the steakhouse the filet and the burger were excellent, while the New York strip steak was poorly trimmed and simply not edible. Another example is that whenever I ordered raw fish, except for specific dishes at the Japanese restaurant it had been sitting in lemon for far too long and arrived overly cured rather than fresh and vibrant, which was disappointing. Once you learn what’s good at each restaurant and which dishes are handled properly, you can definitely enjoy the dining experience but it does take some time to figure that out. The alcohol is excellent, the service is good, and the selection is great. For anyone who isn’t particularly foodie-oriented, I would definitely recommend coming.

Spotless, outstanding location and staff. The drinks were well done and it was easy to find a chair by the pool or the beach. The food might seem limited to some, I don’t need a constant smorgasbord. Lots of variety- wood fired pizza, pasta, salads, made to order by the pool or beach. there was definitely lots of fish and seafood-. Everything I had was yummy and lots of grilled veggies which I love. . The steakhouse was excellent! Our room was gorgeous and we were upgraded to an even better suite during our stay. Then, if you want a break from the gorgeous beach, you are two blocks from a vibrant area of town. Live music, performers and shopping. Love this resort and the location!

Great rooms, hotel is still amazing in terms of layout, pools / beach access etc. Unfortunately the change in ownership and move to all inclusive has made this hotel less desirable. There is no app / booking system in place to support any of the restaurants, every single night there was up to a 90 minute wait to get dinner at the hotel. We gave up half way through the trip and left the hotel for food. Drinks are poor and watered down, breakfast has declined since the change too. The property and service is still incredible but the food and beverages offered all inclusive completely let it down.

Premium liquor with knowledgeable mixologist. Notario served well poolside . Hector will be greatly missed. Loved the clean level cabana beds and infinity pools . Roberto at upper bar was great . Speakeasy was an added bonus . America was pleasant and Abraham helped immensely with initial check in and any enquiries .

The grounds were the best part of the resort. Very clean. The cushions in the Cabana beds need to be replaced as all of them have indents where ppl constantly sit in the same place. Pools could use a mid day cleaning as you can see the build up of suntan lotion and grease on top of the water. The bathroom shower stall in our room was not the cleanest. The mirrors in our room had dark spots all over them. They need to be replaced. All staff were lovely and attentive. The food was very bland with the exception of the meat that was grilled daily at lunchtime. Portions were also very small at dinner

The staff was super nice and helpful! Bartender Marco was so nice and made amazing drinks. Pool side food was amazing with great options and the staff was really nice. Food from the grill was really great. Steak was cooked perfectly with great side options with a ton of flavor. However, the barrier in the ocean is not pleasant to look at and ruins the view- adding rocks ontop would make it a bit more pleasing to the eye. There was a decent amount of floating trash in the ocean as you walk down the beach. There was seaweed with an odor but the resort did a great job of clearing this off but the smell did linger. Some parts of the property like pool tile and deck board by beach looks as if it needs to be repainted or updated. You can access town easily from this resort which is very nice to go to shops. We also loved the sports bar with games! This was fun to pop in grab a drink or snack and hangout!

Staff, service cleanliness stood out. The staff went above and beyond to form connections and make us feel special. They ensured we had everything we needed. Drinks were great for an all inclusive. They did not seem watered down. Food was really good (mostly). Location is perfect- On the beach but very close to the main area with bars restaurants snd shops.

My wife and I came to Devossion by Live Aqua for our honeymoon and it was an incredible experience for us. We stayed for 7 nights in late November 2025. We spent most of our time at the pool or beach. We were most concerned about not having a swim up bar but we sat in Gerardo or Miguel’s sections at the beach or pool every day and never spent more than 10min without a drink in our hand. Both those guys were incredible and super friendly. Never even had to leave the pool to get a drink either, they left it for us right on the edge of the pool. All the bartenders are very particular and we witnessed them put a drop of every drink on their hand to make sure every drink left the bar perfectly… they did. By the end of a few days we were just asking them to make things we’d like when we wanted to switch it up and they nailed it based on what we already ordered pretty much every time. Melanie and Adrian were awesome at keeping everyone engaged and informed of any activities and only time we felt we missed out was when we spent too much time at the beach(not their fault, obviously). Their manager, apologies because I am blanking on his name) was also awesome and the life of the party during all the champagne celebrations, which by the way, is an awesome touch and built a good social opportunity to anyone wanting to be more social. Our only area for improvement is the sound-proofing in our room.

I had a pleasant stay at Devossion by Live Aqua Playa del Carmen. The room was spacious with a beautiful oceanfront view, and the room service was excellent, available multiple times a day, including in-room dining. The beach was lovely, though there was some seaweed during the last couple of days; the staff did a great job cleaning it each morning. It’s worth noting that the beach isn’t private, as it’s public by law. There were a few downsides: there was a constant sound of running water coming from upstairs, and nearby construction could be heard at times. The resort also seemed a bit understaffed. Although there are four restaurant options, we often had to wait 20–30 minutes for a table and another 45 minutes to an hour for food. Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating, with the exception of one person, Ms. America. Overall, despite a few inconveniences, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The beach view from our room was unobstructed. The service was top of the line. The meals, snacks, and drinks were simply delicious. We were not aware of this resort, since we had not been to Playa del Carmen however, our nephew (one of your employees) Luis Angel Guzman Lopez, was your best advocate and convinced us to visit and stay at Devossion. We will definetely go back.

The check in process was extremely smooth. Cold towels were a nice touch when we arrived. Process was quick and our room was upgraded. Suite was amazing. Spacious, very clean, and loaded with extras. The resort itself is impressive. Starbucks, the restaurants, and especially the staff. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The location couldn’t be better. Close to everything.

We booked this resort for its location right downtown Playa. The location was great, but what was even better was the extremely high level of service we received from the amazing staff. Every single staff member we met, from reception, security, pool and lobby bars was beyond anything we’ve ever experienced. This is obviously a place where the staff feels appreciated by the owners. Will 200% be back.

The room was not 100 percent spotless, the plunge pool needed a bit more cleaning, the staff was courteous but slow to respond. Kept calling the front desk but no response. Had to walk to the front if I had a question

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish! The property itself is stunning—immaculately clean, beautifully maintained, and every corner exudes a sense of care and attention to detail. The service was truly world-class. Roberto at the lobby bar, Mateo in the restaurant, and Jhonny at the pool bar were exceptional, and every single team member we encountered went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The staff’s warmth, attentiveness, and genuine friendliness transformed our stay into something truly special. The beach is breathtaking—pristine, serene, and perfect for relaxing or taking in the incredible views. Dining at the restaurants and the pool deck grill was a delight; every meal was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly presented. The arts and crafts team added a uniquely fun and memorable touch, allowing us to create our own souvenirs—what a wonderful way to take home a personal memento of our stay! The front desk team was always ready to help with anything we needed, and the greeting team set the perfect tone on arrival with cold towels and refreshing drinks—such a thoughtful and classy welcome. Every detail, from the gorgeous surroundings to the flawless service, made this an unforgettable experience. We left feeling completely spoiled and will absolutely be returning. This hotel is a true gem, and we cannot recommend it highly enough!

Beachfront setting steps from Fifth Avenue makes it easy to reach shops and nightlife. The beach is public and can be busy, with occasional seaweed and some noise from neighboring clubs.

Resort is very clean and beautiful. Staff was top notch - friendly and helpful! Food excellent but we would have loved an option for Mexican food for lunch and dinner (besides room service). They seem to be working on a few areas of the resort, so perhaps they are adding dining options. Beach is stunning, but is public so very busy on weekends. Our stay was mostly quiet with some occasional loud club music from the neighboring resorts. Overall a very nice vacation!

The hotel is right on the beach and a block away from shopping and dining options. The resort itself offers a large selection of food and drinks for you to choose from with some of the friendliest staff. The pools are very nice and all the views are beautiful. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone wanting to stay at an all inclusive in cancun.

All the staff is polite and super nice. They have great food and drinks. The location is great. Quinta Avenida is just a block away. The beach is nice and they have lifeguards on duty ensuring everyone is safe. Overall a great experience! We’ve been there twice and will continue going there.

The whole experience was great! The staff were amazing and attentive. The massages at the spa were some of the best I have ever had. Getting to use the spa facilities for an additional 2 hours was so relaxing. The cenote pool is very cool. If you intend on using the lap pool, bring goggles. The eucalyptus steam room was my favorite feature in the spa. The food was delicious! The fire roll at Nami is lit, literally. The daily changing breakfast buffet has something for everyone. 5th Ave is within walking distance for fun, adventures, shopping, food and entertainment with the locals. The seaweed is abundant in the ocean which is a deterrent. It's a small resort with an intimate vibe. Overall, I highly recommend this destination. I stayed 3 nights and it was perfect.
