My stay was very nice. I love how close the hotel is to Main Street Lafayette. Very walkabe to churches and good restaurants. Walkable to campus as well (when the weather is agreeable). I was somewhat disappointed that the pool is not in working order and that this fact was not mentioned on the website then i booked. I will stay again ext tome i visit Purdue

I like the location, and the property is generally "good". But it's in need of maintenance. The showers stalls in several (most?) rooms seem to be painted over with the paint peeling away. There's some general other maintenance issues like one spot on the exterior, and in two of our rooms the towel bars kept falling off the wall because they hadn't been repaired properly. The big problem we had though was that the elevators stopped working on Friday and weren't fixed by Saturday. I can't imagine how you can operate a 7 floor hotel without a working elevator! Otherwise the rooms were clean, and I do like the location.

The hotel is a bit dated but clean. One of the elevators was not working and the bar was closed for some reason. The conference room we were at lost A/C and they quickly moved us to another room. Parking could be an issue but they have options to provide parking even when the lot seems full.

I liked the connivence of the property and friendly staff. Rooms were large and beds were comfortable. The bar was closed all weekend and one elevator was working. At times you waited 10-15 mins for elevator. Not much parking during busy weekends.

The staff at the front desk and restaurant were wonderful- super helpful and very friendly!!!! Our rooms were on floor 3 directly next to a weight room. At 7am on a Sunday morning we could literally hear weights being picked up and dropped on the floor quite hard. This went on for 45 min before we decided to pack up and leave. It’s not okay to have guest rooms share a wall with this type of loud common area. Staff is great but hotel setup is horrible.

Toilet clogged, leaking & filthy Shower has never ever been properly scrubbed. All of the decorative room items in the world at the holiday inn city center does not cover up the poor cleanliness which speaks volumes about how this property & the overall housekeeping is managed. Very disappointing stay. I will never stay there again.

Rooms are horrible condition, paint peeling as I’m taking a shower. Carpet looks like it’s 30 years old and is stained from who knows what. The hallways smell like mold and mildew. I would never recommend staying here. The pictures on the website make it look like it’s updated, but it’s not. Everything is broken.

The bed was comfortable and clean. The toilet and shower were clean. However, the bathroom sink and floor had a lot of hair. The floor also appeared to have coffee drips or some other liquid spilled. There was no soap. The room cost was $222.88 so I was expecting better. At check out, the employee never asked about our stay. We won’t be back.

The room was basically stark white with no warming colors or interesting pictures. That seems odd since we were staying in a very picturesque town of Lafayette IN. The lighting was poor. The bathrooms in the rooms were dated & need upgraded. The shower dripped, the floor in the shower was old and had stains. The walls of the room were thin and we could hear the loud neighbors all night. The doors slam on every room. The cofffee maker was old and looked like corrosion inside. No free coffee in the hotel, had to pay for it. When I complained at front desk about coffee maker staff could have given me voucher for free coffee but she didnt care. No free breakfast like most Holiday Inns. Would not stay again.

The condition of the room—particularly the bathtub—was extremely disappointing. It was very dirty, and when I asked the manager to have someone clean it, I was told that no one was currently available. Both the manager and staff were unhelpful and quite rude. I called the reception to report the issue and asked if someone could come up to see the condition of the room. They responded that they were very busy but would send someone shortly. However, after waiting for over an hour, no one showed up. When I eventually went down to the lobby, I found both the receptionist and the man I had previously spoken with sitting idly, using their phones—clearly not busy. After some insistence, the person who called himself the manager reluctantly came with me to the room, where I showed him the visible hair and dirt in the bathtub. His response was that all the rooms are old and not in great condition. This level of service is unacceptable, and the response I received only added to the disappointment of the stay. I went for breakfast in the morning, after I ate, they charge me $16, and said that the breakfast was not included in the room fee, whereas I checked it with the receptionist when I checked in the day before!! Apparently, she forgot to mention it!

On a positive note, I stayed here the first night and my room was fine. BUT.... 2nd night I had a different room, the room was set on 52 degrees and it was 60 degrees in the room. The light in the restroom was like a strobe light. I told the front desk we had issues and that we were headed to dinner and could they take a look. She said yes they would check it out. After dinner we came back and room was still freezing, luckily we had socks and sweatshirts to sleep in. The room never warmed up even though I adjusted the thermostat on the wall up to 80 degrees! They never came to room and even looked at the light in the bathroom. Luckily I was driving home and just wearing a hat, there was no way to get ready in the bathroom and fix your hair or do makeup. I told the gentlemen at the desk the next morning there were issues with the room and that I had spoken with the young lady at the desk the night before and she said they would be fixed but that no one had came. He looked up at me (from his phone he was on at the time) and told me "there were no maintenance men" and acted like I was an idiot for even thinking it would be fixed. No apologies at all from the staff for the cruddy room experience...Kinda a bummer as I stay there often since my daughters are in college there. I also typically love the Holiday Inn express, so I was pretty disappointed :(

Even though we paid in full prior to checking in, the hotel asked for a credit card upon checkin and charged 25 dollars, saying that it was a security deposit or something to that effect. Still have not gotten that back. Also we were told that breakfast would be free and were given coupons for the restaurant in the lobby. When I gave the restaurant my credit card in order for them to charge for the tip, they charged the full price of the breakfast without telling me. Ive noticed more and more that hotels will do anything to get your credit card and charge you for things that you are not aware of until you are long gone and out of their sight.

I have stayed at this hotel many times. This time they gave me a room next to the elevator. I could hear the loud noise of the elevator whenever it stopped by. Despite the fact that the parking lot was only half full, which means the hotel was far from being full, the front desk staff refused to change the room for me.

Location of this hotel is fabulous. It is within walking distance to downtown and the farmer's market is fantastic. The hotel is updated and modern. However, the chairs are all straight back so don't expect a comfy sitting area in the lobbies (or the rooms). Very clean, and staff was very friendly.

Overall the hotel looked nice, but the bathroom in our room had dirt in the corners and the shower was dirty and in bad shape. The toilet in our room was leaking and when I told the guy at the front desk he didn't seem to care. But when we checked in the staff was very nice and helpful. They charged $15 per person for breakfast and honestly it was just like the free breakfast you get a most hotels. The location in downtown Lafayette was nice and it was close to everything.

Our trip was an overnighter, in town to see a concert at Lieb Field. The hotel was only 5min from the venue. The lobby was pretty impressive with several seating areas, a bar & restaurant. The front desk was very courteous and professional. First impression of the the room (2 queens) was it was on the smaller side with hardly any room on the side of the bed near the a/c unit. Speaking of which, the a/c was excellent. I wouldn't want to be a family of four in std 2bed unit. The beds were firm with nice pillows. TV could have been a little bigger. Some of the programing would freeze up. Carpeting throughout was very nice. Tub looked like it had been neglected during the past remodel. Paint was peeling. Bathroom overall was good. Room was quiet. Onsite parking was ample. The breakfast buffet, for the price, was a little underwhelming and the plates hadn't been washed very well, had to pick through 4 or 5 to find a clean one. Coffee mugs had smudges from an inadequate rinse aid. Food quality was excellent. We did not use the workout center. The business area was in part of tge lobby. Looked like 2 computers and printer/ fax.

While I like this hotel and it's in a great location, here are some of the things I don't like ... the showers are just awful. Each time I've stayed in this hotel, the showers get worse and worse. I don't know if they are waiting to do a remodel, but they need one badly. The base of the shower is just gross, as they've painted/sealed over the shower insert to prolong it's life and the paint/seal is peeling - where it's peeling, there is mold growing and it's just not a good look - it detracts from the hotel. The included breakfast is a great benefit, but when we ate there, the plates from the stack that everyone takes from were dirty. It's these things you may overlook that are a big deal. Staff at the front desk were nice and helpful, but didn't present as professional.
