La Quinta by Wyndham Virginia Beach

Elevator is a death trap breakfast is well below average roosm were clean but is outdated stayed for 3 nights couldn't get the room cleaned even after requesting. This is a 2 star motel at best.

There’s only 2 elevators right next to each other and one broke which cause VERY long wait times to travel for 7 floors worth of people. Pillows were so flat, but beds were comfortable. My son loved the pool and staff were really pleasant.

The pool was closed and it is September the summer still going. I made my reservation based on using the pool, I was so disappointed an ruined my vacation.

Location is great, right by the beach, grocery and liquor store. Staff are good but the hotel is noisy and subpar. And get ready to pay to park

The property is very close to the beach however the hotel needs a lot of work. The elevators seemed in need of numerous repairs and felt unsafe. We checked in at 4p but were placed in a handicap accessible room that we did not ask for. The bathroom sink faucet was missed a cap which caused water to squirt out all over the countertop. My husband had to brush his teeth daily using the bathtub. There were no bath towels in our room when we checked in so we went to the front desk to request 4. They gave us 2 bath towels and 2 very small/short towels. The toilet did not flush appropriately. We had to flush it 2-4x to get waste and toilet paper to go down. The tv had numerous black lines down the screen and would time out after a few hours of viewing. The bed was not comfortable at all (very hard) and the bed pillows were just as bad. We overheard other guests complaining about the hotels accommodations as well. If you can afford to, spend a few extra dollars and stay somewhere else.

Staff was helpful and pleasant. Pool was closed, which was disappointing. Room and linens were clean, well stocked. Gym was closed for re-modelling. We had no issues.

Everything was great except that i never had to pay parking at hotel I'm styaing at. $15 a night is ridiculous.

Elevator was out of order

The hotel was ok just did not know that there was no pool inside and only 1 elevator for 6 floors.

I struggled with what to rate this hotel. We are not fancy hotel people. We appreciate affordable accommodations and don't need all the frills. After reading reviews for all the affordable hotels near the beach, I decided to book La Quinta through the hotels.com app. Pros: very close to the beach, easy check in, friendly staff, ample parking (charge of $15/day), nice clean room, cold air conditioning, comfortable bed and plenty of pillows, good water pressure (having thick hair, I appreciate this more than the average person lol), the fridge in our room was super cold, the pool was on the smaller side but in the sun most of the day. Cons: Only one (of two) elevator worked during our four day stay Breakfast: pretty sub-par. The same fake sausage patties and microwaved scrambled "eggs"all four days we were there. It appeared they had one person taking care of breakfast and he couldn't keep things stocked and cleaned. Also, not enough seating for everyone. Pets: so many irresponsible pet owners bringing their pets into the breakfast area (clearly marked NO PETS), leaving them to bark in their rooms all day, letting them jump on people. Donuts all a favor (yourself included) and leave them at home. Housekeeping: the language barrier was quite frustrating when we needed something. Ice machines: there are 7 floors and only 2 (maybe 3) floors had working machines All in all....it was a decent stay but if we come back to the area, we will probably consider another hotel

Very clean

Our arrival at the room was unfortunately met with a few unpleasant surprises. We found blood on the bedroom door and a shower curtain covered in excessive mold. Although the staff was responsive and took care of cleaning the blood and replacing the curtain, we continued to face an issue with the shower drain, which was clogged and caused water to back up every time we showered.

Beds were comfortable, carpet seemed clean but every crevice and crack was stained, dusty dirty or moldy in the restroom. Even the ceiling.

Ants and the room was dirty

This hotel is very dated. The put new counter tops in the bathroom. But the bathroom is so tiny the door doesn't even open all the way. It hits the toilet seat. There was mold in the corners of the bathroom walls. The beds were really soft. The smell of pot filled the hallway and into our bathroom every morning and evening. The price is very affordable but this hotel is old and dated.

Mold in the shower we were unable to shower. Unknown substance on the blinds appeared to be feces could have been chocolate. Floors had rust like sludge on them in the bathroom. Parking is 20$ a day. BUGS!. Horrible experience.

The location and overall condition of the hotel was very satisfactory. The only issue I had pertained to the bathroom in my hotel room. The overhead light was out and there was no vent for the steam from the shower. There was also signs of mold on the ceiling.

After driving 14 hours, we just needed a place to sleep. The smell in this hotel room was gross. It smelled like a mix of cat pee and mold. And the bar next door played club style music until 2am. Do not recommend. Spend the extra $50 for a nicer hotel.

The AC in the room barely worked. The sounds from the bar outside were so loud we had to keep out TV at top volume so we could hear it. The lobby was nice but the elevators were far from the lobby. Not worth the money for this place at all.

Late night on Friday and Saturday there were teenagers yelling and slamming doors which made it very difficult to sleep. The bed pillows were terrible, as if they haven't been changed in years... far from fluffy or comfortable. The free breakfasts were only okay. Each day the choices were limited. Either cereal, waffles and or eggs. Not good at all for someone staying there for a week.

The parking charge was a surprise on arrival. We stayed here last year and there was no charge for parking. The property was clean. However, the bathroom felt like it wasn’t planned very well. The door wouldn’t open all the way hitting the toilet and making it incredibly inconvenient and frustrating to use. Otherwise the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was full every morning and well maintained.

Great hotel, my only complaint was WiFi didn’t work well on the seventh floor.

The bathroom door wouldn't close completely; it bumped into the toilet and wouldn't open completely. And the main door to the bedroom didn't close properly. We had to press to make sure it was properly closed.

Pleasantly surprised! Front desk & checkin was great. Room was nice, clean, roomy with a recliner chair, micro & fridge. Bed was comfy, bedding fresh & clean, bath towels were good quality, bathroom was clean. Only complaint was the tiny bathroom, but countertop was roomy & shower was a step-in. Just difficult to close the door due to proximity of the toilet. A "pocket" door would have been a better option...parking was also a great perk...plenty of parking & short walk to boardwalk. The bathroom door in my room hit the toilet, making entrance and egress from the bathroom difficult. Towels were fine, water pressure was good, room was clean. Bit, we had to turn the AC up higher than desired to offset the moist feeling in the room. I slept in my jacket because I didn’t think to bring a sweatshirt in June. There were six pillows for two beds, which was nice. But the pillows were rather thin. Room had a desk and office chair, extra upholstered chair, and an iron. It was fine for the overnight stay before visiting family, but I wouldn’t do more than a night there. Kids slept well but my 50yo body needed a bit more comfort.

The service that was extended to me while i stayed at your hotel was PHENOMENAL to say the least. It was like if i had ANY concerns Ms. Tonya bent over backwards to accommodate me. Every one of the staff i had the pleasure of coming into contact with was awesome...THANK YOU SO MUCH

Very rude AM desk clerk. (Cheryl) was not friendly, and did not like my inquiring about where breakfast was served. I politely let her know I was not familiar with the property and that I was not from the area. She said, Well, I'm from-----! They didn't tell you about breakfast?! I let her know that I was informed of the time, I just wanted to know where to go. She made my otherwise pleasant stay ugly. The next day I went to breakfast late and did not have to encounter her. Either she was gone or not working the next day. Hospitality is supposed to be the primary thing a hotel demonstrates. You had a poor representative in this. It does affect your ratings and how people view LaQuinta as a whole. Dr. T.P. Smith

Tonya, the front reception when I came in, was probably the rudest person I’ve ever encountered. She argued with me about free parking. I mentioned I thought it said free on the Hotels.com listing. She got very defensive and said it’s not listed as free, multiple times and said she would show me. I didn’t need her to repeat multiple times. I agreed with her after she said it wasn’t listed as free the first time. I put in my special request that I have a service dog. That was either ignored or missed because I had to mention it again. When I said I had a service dog, she then asked me “What is it, an emotional support dog?”. When someone declares they have a service dog, which mine is and not for emotional support; you’re not legally allowed to ask what disability they’re for. Just because someone has a disability you can’t see, doesn’t mean it isn’t there. There was only the smallest bottle of shampoo and conditioner in the room, no soap. One of the comforters had brown crusty stains on it and the hotel itself is really in overall disrepair. I rarely ever complain about a place and I’ve stayed in some really AWFUL hotels. Maybe teach your employees better customer service skills. I’d rather sleep in my car than stay here again.

When we were checking in around 6:30 pm they told us our room wasn’t clean they had no clean rooms and we should go get dinner then come back.

Did a trade show at the near by convention center.The hotel is located in a great area for fine food and live entertainment just a block away. The best thing in my opinion was the staff, especially a very professional young man named Blake at the front desk. The information he provided as to where to dine or just have some fun all within walking distance. Blake also went the extra mile to make our stay more than pleasant with his welcoming and very professionals demeanor . Great customer service!!! I stay at hotels more than 150 days a year and I can say it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in years. Great location, comfortable, and most importantly a staff that goes beyond the call of duty. Thanks again Blake and Wyndham!!!

Tonya was an excellent representation of LaQuinta in Virginia Beach

All of the staff were fabulous! From checking in really later (later than expected) to checking out, we had extremely helpful staff. The breakfast helper was super friendly and personable and the maintenance staff were great when we ran into a locked door issue right before checking out.

Just close to boardwalk

The location was wonderful, you can walk to the beach in less than 10 minutes and there was a grocery store in close proximity. The room was clean and comfortable enough for a short stay. Only negative was the elevators obviously need to be worked on, felt like we would get stuck or it would stop operating at any given minute. Then as we left we were greeted by a pile of dog poop sitting in the main hallway. The maintenance crew didn't at least have the decency to alert us that it was there nor did they have any urgency picking it up as they continued to knock on doors. Understandably its a pet friendly hotel, even just a caution sign would have been nice luckily i tend to look down as i walk.

A+ Experience. Clean rooms, excellent service, and an unbeatable location— short walk to grocery store the beach and restaurants FREE PARKING!!!! I highly recommend this hotel for any business traveler or family.

Overall, clean facility, helpful staff and a great location! It was 2 blocks from the beach, there was a Harris Teeter directly behind the inn, plenty of restaurants within walking distance and they were very pet friendly!! They even had poop bags available in multiple locations around the premises.

Breakfast wasn't good. It was the same food everyday. House keeping didn't clean my room until I checked out.

I love the location, walking distance to the beach. What I did not like the continental breakfast, there was not enough seating, and a very limited choices. I also feel customers should not pay for parking.

Overall, clean, modern property. Comfortable beds. Welcoming staff. Good mix for breakfast. Centrally located. Just 6 minutes to VA beach sports complex. One tip for property - check length of shower curtains.

No towels and bath clothes were in the room…. The breakfast buffet ran out of everything before breakfast hours were over…
