First, we were greeted by a super friendly woman at check-in. We stayed in the "Harry Potter" building. It's a really unique hotel in that the walls are stone so it looks older. The room was clean. We had a microwave, mini fridge, and K-cup coffee maker. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The workout room looked nice. The breakfast was good--waffle and pancake maker, a good oatmeal bar, bagels, toast, eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits, cereal, grits, fruit, juice, and coffee. The pool wasn't open yet so we didn't get to see it. Not sure but I didn't see a hair dryer in the room so maybe you have to ask for one or bring your own. Internet worked well. Overall a nice stay and just 8-9 minutes from the Richmond Volleyball Center where we were playing a tournament and 2 minutes from 6 free pickleball courts. Lots of places nearby to eat and shop.

Clean facilities, super friendly service, nice size rooms, quiet building, convenient part of town, and lovely amenities. Their hot breakfast was especially nice! Unfortunately the pool was under going maintenance while we were there. It was one of the main reasons we picked the place. Still, we would book again!

Staff was extremely friendly. This property is a very old building with some modern updates to the lobby. The coffee bar is a great feature. The rooms are large but the bathroom needs some major updates. Did not have anyone service our room during our 2 night stay. Beds unmade and no fresh towels. Disappointing considering the amount per night. The second night the ballroom had been rented out for a large gathering. Our room was 2 floors above the ballroom and was very difficult to fall asleep with the noise. Unsure why the property would not have housed guests who were not participating in the event on the other side of the hotel, far from the ballroom and noise.

Staff were very friendly. However, I noticed floor in the breakfast room was sticky. One night, the party music from downstairs was so loud that our room’s window was vibrating. This lasted for multiple hours.

This is in a very old building but tons of upgrades done. Very nice updated rooms, comfortable bed and pillows. Blackout curtains that actually work! Nice little pool area and walk to this cool little Thai restaurant! Breakfast was provided, typical food, not horrible and plenty of seating. Overall a nice hotel if on a budget.

Creepy place that is not clean.. 1- bathroom was not clean (mold around the tub, liquid soap left from previous guest at the sink) 2- toilet didn’t flush unless you open the top and do it manually 3- no shower mat 4- furniture is old 5- AC is loud 6- vending machine is not stocked with water 7- strong unpleasant smell in room 8- wifi didn’t work Over priced for what it is.

My first 3rd floor room was extremely humid. My glasses steamed up when I entered. There was a puddle of water on the floor by the AC unit. A floor lamp was in the middle of that puddle and it was turned on. The second room looked good upon entering but everything like the flooring and the bedding were damp from some sort of ongoing humidity problem. Whatever they clean with leaves things looking shiny. But wherever I walked I could see my footprints. I finally grabbed a bath towel and shuffled around on it for the rest of my stay.

The windows didn't have screwns or safety latches, my son was able to open the window wide to the roofing outside. Some of the brick facade was in disrepair. Otherwise our stay was good.

My family of four stayed for two nights at the Best Western Plus Governor’s Inn. The Inn reminded us of a mini castle, and our 2 Beds room was big and spacious. The bathroom needs updating, but it served its purpose. The shower head had great water pressure. We were happy with the included breakfast.

We loved the feeling that it was a castle! The linens were amazing and the breakfast was over the top. We stayed in room 131, that was the 1st room to a door where many guests would leave from. I was woken up at 5a.m. and again at 6 a.m. just don't stay in room 131 and it will be a 5 Star.

We had a 3rd floor room next to the elevator and were pleasantly surprised by how quiet the room was. The staff were very pleasant and the check in process was very easy. The rooms were dated and pillows were too hard. Breakfast was very good. All in all, a decent hotel. With some updates the hotel would get a higher rating from us.

At check-in was charged $100 fee for contingencies without any mention of the charge. AFTER I asked for a printed receipt at checkout at that point I was told of the fee and that it would be refunded to my credit card. The check in clerk took my card and ID and was on the computer which was suspicious because the card reader was on the counter.

Great location for the price - liked it was off Midlothan a bit so you didn’t hear street noise. The restaurant next door looks like a hole in the wall but was really good!

The hotel was not up to standard. Need to do better cleaning carpet & bathroom. Also the big thing for me was the distance to River City Sportcomplex. On your website, you mentioned 4.2 miles, it was over 10 miles...make the correction as it was the only reason i booked this place.

The hotel is a bit outside of the general busy area of the city of Richmond but it has its charm, not on the "sparks"side, but on the "down to earth "side. So. We likes the surroundings and we got everything we wanted around. A place to remember. We may returns.

My husband and I found the property visually appealing. Set back off the main road was an excellent choice. The noise level was minimal to the extent of being virtually non-existent. We loved the brickwork, a lot of charm. My husband found the breakfast display outstanding - " the eggs actually tasted like eggs and were not dried out". The reception staff when we arrived and when we left the next morning were very pleasant and efficient.

The overall experience was amazing. I could breathe better than in most hotels that I have stayed in. The staff was very friendly. Being able to have breakfast every morning was nice. Everything was wonderful.
