What guests think

At Holiday Inn Express & Suites Greenville-Downtown by IHG, guests consistently praise the welcoming staff and walkable location near Main Street, with many finding the included breakfast convenient and the property generally clean despite being an older, modest hotel.

However, feedback notes hard or worn mattresses for some rooms, occasional noise or HVAC issues, and intermittent problems with hot water or water pressure. Free parking is appreciated, though the pool is sometimes closed or out of service and a few facility hiccups like elevator or printer troubles are mentioned. Breakfast quality is generally well received, though a few guests found items cold or wished hours ran later on weekends. Expect a budget-friendly, walk-to-downtown stay with warm service and some room-to-room variability.

Great location to be able to walk downtown to a variety of restaurants and shops. Our room was ready for us and it was very clean. They do not have soap bars in the bathroom but they have soap in containers along with lotion, I like that because the counter stay cleaner. You can hear some traffic noise but does not disturb your sleep. The only real complaint and it’s an important one to those of us who do not like Hard beds, to my husband and myself the king size bed was very uncomfortable! A pillow top would have made our stay great! The Breaskfast for Saturday and Sunday (weekend) was a great variety of food, eggs, sausages, potatoes, gravy, French toast, cereal, cinnamon buns, muffins, danishes, toast, you get the idea the selection was wonderful. They have available all the time coffee, hot tea regular and decaf, and hot Chocolate. The pool was closed for the season. The work out area was nice to have. The staff were very helpful in answering our questions about downtown. Oh and the special treat set out for everyone on Friday night because it was Halloween was Candy! That was a nice touch.

Expedia advertised about the hotel including a pool and laundry services. The pool was green and closed off to the guests and laundry services were not offered in the hotel. They offered laundry services at a sister hotel up the block. How inconvenient! In addition, the elevator wasn’t in use for several days. I wouldn’t be booking this hotel in the future.

Or stay was fine. We chose this hotel because it was a convenient walking distance to the concert venue. Staff was polite, helpful. Room very clean. Breakfast was decent. Although we were not intending to use the pool, it was disgusting just to walk past. It looked like green jello. There were no signs stating that it was out of order, which would have made sense. If I had brought children to this hotel, I would be angry because the children would have been extremely disappointed to not have this amenity up and running.

The bathroom floor was dirty, and the toilet was not stable on the floor. Also, the toilet paper holder was unstable on the wall. Having a dirty bathroom floor seemed unacceptable and made us wonder of the carpet was dirty also. We have been in Greenville three times in the last six months, and this was the most unclean of the three hotels we resided in.

Everything about this property, except for the bed, was perfect. But the bed was so hard… SO HARD, I was ruined for the 4 long nights I was there, and I’m still recovering from that experience. But IF a concrete slab is something you are good with, this hotel is exceptional. Its location is awesome with easy access to shopping, restaurants, the highway to Raleigh & Durham. I’ve never stayed at a Hampton that didn’t have a wonderful bed, until this one, and all I can say is; I sure hope y’all fix that issue… Room 320 needs a bed, not a concrete slab!

We loved the accessibility to downtown and the free parking. Our room with a King sized bed was on the small side as compared with other places we have stayed, but everything worked well, and there was good water pressure in the shower. Bed was comfortable. A good place to stay downtown, especially if you are on a budget

The hotel was at a convenient location to be able to walk Main Street to check out the shops/restaurants. Walked to Reedy Falls Park and walked along the river and across Liberty Bridge. Parking was included and had no issues. Also, this was one of the better breakfasts provided - warm cinnamon rolls, pancakes, french toast, omelet and potatoes, along with other breakfast necessities. My husband and I are not coffee drinkers but they provided white and chocolate milk to drink - which was appreciated.

The best Blu slight negative about this stay was that not all of the breakfast options were ready and available at 8am.
