What guests think

Reviews of Motel 6 Tucson, AZ Airport Kino Sports Complex depict an aging, renovating property with recurring cleanliness and pest issues, dated rooms needing repairs, and uneven amenities, but also many notes about friendly front-desk staff and convenient airport proximity.

Multiple reviews mention renovation mess in common areas, elevator problems, and amenities like the pool and hot tub being closed or dirty, as well as no gym. The location is close to the airport, but several guests felt the area and parking did not feel secure. Breakfast is minimal or inconsistent; expect a basic, budget stay with friendly staff but significant trade-offs in upkeep and reliability.

The amenities weren’t great at all. The pool and jacuzzi were very dirty and the Manager on duties excuse was because the pool and Jacuzzi were outside. The Jacuzzi water was coming out like pasta boiling over in a pot. The room was dirty, and the sheets had holes in them. The Bathtub looked like it was installed in the early 80s. There were also cobwebs in the bathroom. In terms of their continental breakfast, you had to make your own waffles and for orange juice they served Tang. This was the worst hotel I ever been to.

The toilet didn't work, and plaster is falling down in the shower, which can cause injury. There is hard walking above the room, another door with a man talking and I don't know him, the desk clerk refused to give me a refund, I and took $100 on my card, I think it is a scam, fraud, cause he said I dirtied the room, but the toilet wasn't working, but oddly worked when he was there. I didn't inspect the room as I was lugging my luggage up 2 flights of stairs, oh, the elevator is OUT. Scam. Take their hotel privileges away. Dirty establishment and owners!!!!!

Good and comfy clean & decent for the price. Hot tub was closed bc of chemicals recently added bummer I needed that but not hotels fault. Rooms were renovated and clean. Hallways and elevator not so much but hey it’s the room that matters. Fyi security deposit is $100; however, they let you pay in cash (there’s an atm in lobby) so as soon as you check out they give the cash right back so much better than using a card and waiting around 5-7 business days.

There were cockroaches in the room, the hot tub was more like gysers and just kept shooting water out of the tub, most of the shelves in the fridge were broken, could tell something was ripped off the bathroom door, hard water stains and burns all over the bath... paying almost 80 for the room, think they could repair their rooms. Will not stay here again.

The place is under renovation. It's difficult to give a fair review. They have a long way to go. I thought it was a little sneaky not to let potential visitors know they are in the middle of major construction. The hallways were full of construction materials. Definate hazard if emergency evacuation had to happen. For get it if you're in a wheelchair.I could have done much better for the same amount of money somewhere else.

The hotel is very neglected, the common areas looked dirty and neglected, it smelled a lot of cigarette smoke, the carpet and walls of the hotel were stained. The rooms smelled like cigarette smoke, we found cockroaches, there was no water to drink, the internet never worked. The continental breakfast is lousy and very poor. We will not return to that place.

The bedroom was basically fine but the bathroom was terrible---there had obviously been a ceiling leak in bathroom and they had tried to stop by plastering over it--very messy. Also there was no cold water--just burning hot water in sink and bathtub so taking a shower or even washing your hands in sink was impossible. Also bathroom was very old, dirty bathtub and floor of bathroom was old tile not very clean. It made for a very miserable stay. The bedroom was ok and looked as if it had been redone recently.

The staff was excellent. The guest in the room next to me had their TV on a very loud volume all night and was still going at 5am. I did NOT sleep at all and finally left when the local gas station was open and just continued my drive home from my road trip and sleep at a rest stop. The front desk clerk tried calling the guest but no answer. The front desk clerk tried knocking on the guest's door but no answer. I really appreciate every thing the front desk clerk did. I wish the front desk clerk had authorize to enter the other guest's room to turn off TV since most likely the other guest was passed out or took sleeping pills. Since the purpose of my visit was to sleep, I will not be staying at this location again nor would I recommend.

I’ve stayed here several times when passing Tucson over the past 15 years. I watched as a nice hotel gradually deteriorated. About 3 years ago, they stopped offering airport parking and free shuttle bus. Now the hotel is getting a facelift and is becoming nice again! There’s still no shuttle and the free breakfast is minimal, but it’s on the upswing!

Location was perhaps ok for people flying in from out of Tucson. There is no good restaurants near by, besides fast food. Free breakfast was available in the morning. External view is so-so, but internally it shows a facility where regular maintenance is overdue. There was water leaking from a ceiling above in the 2nd floor stair landing area. Glass window on an access door to vending machines was cracked in one case and maybe risky for kids. Expectations cannot be high as the relative price is cheaper. I would not probably stay there again and would rather pay a higher price to stay in a better hotel.

It's a roof, a bed, and a hearty breakfast. Breakfast offerings were limited on my stay, because of the ongoing egg shortage. I arrived late, and the overnight front desk clerk/guard was very friendly and helpful. For what it is - a very basic facility near a big city and its airport - this location is a solid place for brief stays while on the road. If you want upscale amenities, services, etc., book elsewhere and pay the premium for all of that.

It was the only stay affordable at the time we were booking but for what we got, it seemed that more than $100 for a stay there is too much. The place definitely needs a facelift since it looks like and old 90s design. The breakfast was just cereal, coffee, and cinnamon mini rolls.

It was HORRIBLE, it looked like they were remodeling and had stuff everywhere, duck tape on the threshold of the door from the hallway to the room. Hallway carpet was gross and the ice machine had mold. Breakfast was a joke, they had a tub of butter instead of individually wrapped and the wierdest part was men coming from the side door and the employees were telling them that they had to stay in the back room and they are not allowed to come out. I couldnt get out fast enough.
