What guests think

At Quality Inn Colorado Springs South, guests consistently praise friendly staff, hot complimentary breakfast, and generally comfortable rooms, while noting the older building and dated decor, and many comment that the property offers solid value for the price.

The indoor pool and hot tub are appreciated, though the pool is often cold and the hot tub is sometimes down; the small gym requires a key and feels limited. Some guests reported odors, stains, or pests and inconsistent room servicing during longer stays. The location is handy for I-25 and attractions, but access can be awkward and several reviews mention a rough surrounding area with homeless activity and parking break-in warnings. Expect a budget-friendly, older property with useful amenities and straightforward comfort.

Lots of easy, free parking. Close location to Pike's Peak and other tourist attractions. Free breakfast is appreciated, but could use a bit more space for the buffet line and for seating (maybe not an issue if not a holiday). The pool and hot tub are indoors, which makes them a bit unpleasant in my opinion.

The food was fresh and hot, and plenty of variety. It was a full breakfast. The staff were constantly monitoring the food supply. We stayed there 5 days and the room was always clean when we got back at night. The hot tub was warm and very comfortable, and the swimming pool was great. This was one of the best places we have stayed. When we go back to Colorado Springs, we're staying at this Quality Inn

The hotel itself was very clean and comfortable. Some things were pretty outdated, like the bathroom, but that didn't effect the quality of the stay. There's no safe in the room. You have to take your items to the front desk and ask them to put it in a safe there which is super inconvenient. The bathtubs are super slippery so be careful. The indoor pool is great and we used it every day. Always clean. The breakfast was the standard continental breakfast, pretty average. The mattresses were comfortable. Overall, a great place to stay.

Feedback is mixed: many note clean rooms and public areas, while others report odors, stains, pests, and inconsistent housekeeping on multi-night stays. Some bathrooms and the hot tub drew cleanliness complaints.

We checked in and then promptley checked out did not even stay for one night out of the three we had reserved. The hotel and room smelled and had stains evrywhere and the shower pealing off. There where flags hanging from some of the rooms windows which indicates in my mind that there were people living at the hotel. The area does not feel safe, our room overlooked what appeared to be a junk yard and homeless people littered the aurrounding streets.

The first room we had smelled like smoke. We were able to change rooms easily. There were roaches in the room we switched to. The bathroom was falling apart. Room was disgusting. Smelt moldy/stale almost like dirty feet our luggage that we set on the floor/carpet still smells. Bathroom and shower were nasty and the shower head had black (mold) on the head. AC kept going off and wouldn’t stay on or cool what you set it to. First night our room smelt like pot from either neighbors or someone smoking it outside our room. Key entry had to be finessed to work. Bums all around the perimeter of the place. It did have a fenced in perimeter. Price if paid through them would have been $30 cheaper a night than through Expedia. Staff were nice but overall we picked this because it had a 8/10 rating. It most definitely was not a 8/10. Definitely won’t be back.

My family recently stayed two nights at this hotel. The front desk staff were very courteous and the check in and out process was seamless. However there were a few minor issues we encountered. There were multiple brown stains on the bedding of one bed and a couple of small stains on the other. The shower and sink also hairs in them. The curtain to the window was broken, so the sun shined directly on our faces each morning shortly after 5am. The TV also cut out every couple of minutes as well. The location was good though, and they offered a decent breakfast.

When I arrived at the property I wasn't acknowledged at all and when the employee was free she just stared at me until I began the conversation. That night, I woke up to the people in the next room slam their door so hard that it shook my room, they were then fighting for the next couple of hours and I got no sleep that night. The following evening I could hear them getting drunk again so I opted to change rooms. This isn't the fault of the hotel but the walls are incredibly thin. Additionally, my key cards kept failing so I was forced to go back down to the desk to get them fixed, then finally on the third day I was told that electronics void them. Understandable, but that is probably something you want to tell folks when they check in as we all are walking around with multiple electronics basically all the time. Finally, in the new room I moved to the bedspread had multiple stains on it. Throughout my stay the customer service was nonexistent, we don't have to be best friends but maybe make an attempt at a human experience? Ultimately, I came for the continental breakfast and that was the saving grace of this whole experience. 3/10

Terrible staff attitude. No apologies or whatsoever for malfunctioning card keys. Had to wait in the hallway for 30 minutes just to get the room door opened. The front staff could have handled it with a much better attitude which would have made it understandable. However, she confronted us as if we were asking for something we didn't deserve. Just make the card keys work or at least talk to the customers with a proper attitude, not stare and command! The hot tub was extremely dirty and was not working either.

Very quiet, clean, secure. It's a bit of a pain if you live in colorado springs you have to pay a $250 deposit 😬 however, that policy is what makes the hotel secure. The young lady working when I checked in (10pm on 12/3) was phenomenal, I think her name waa Alyssa she had lip piercings). She was very patient she was empathetic and I felt that she truly empathized with my situation. She provided EXCELLENT customer service and that is unfortunately uncommon. I'd stay again because of the hospitality.

My wife and I stayed overnight for a concert in the Springs, and this was the least expensive hotel option with a decent rating. Cons: While the room was clean, it felt uninviting and in need of updating. The bathroom, in particular had only a single light source, which made it feel dingy. And the location is exactly what you'd expect for the price. At night, I heard someone screaming at the top of their lungs (which a hotel can't always control), as well as a lot of traffic noise from the busy road. Oh, and a garbage truck came by at 5 in the morning. Bring earplugs. Pros: The price was super affordable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfast had a lot of variety. Plus, the lobby was clean and cozy. When I added all of the "Pros"-- with the greatest emphasis on the low cost-- the positives made up for the rough night.
