I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in years. The property is *under construction*, which should’ve been clearly communicated ahead of time. First, **there were no real bed pillows** instead, they used *square couchlike cushions* with pillowcases on them. Not only was this uncomfortable, but it also felt like a corner-cutting move that set the tone for the rest of the stay. The **linens and towels smelled odd**, like they hadn’t been properly laundered, and the washcloths were threadbare and the towels were far from soft — scratchy and worn down. One of the most frustrating issues was the motion sensor lights in the room. They turned on randomly during the night and every time someone got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. It completely disrupted our sleep, and despite mentioning it after 1st night, no one addressed the issue. Housekeeping also didn't clean the room during our 3 night stay. I was told the don't clean every day, but would come by on the 2nd day which I said was fine. But, no one came by to refresh towels, take out trash, or make the bed. The gym was very small and the equipment outdated, but we were still able to use it. Unfortunately thought, it smelled old and unclean like the room did. There wasn't any water, towels, or wipes either. Lastly, the breakfast had no gluten-free options, which was a major issue for someone with dietary restrictions.

Nice quiet place for the night no matter where you're going after. Clean with a very friendly staff. Printer doesn't work, but there's a kinkos down the street. I recommend if you find yourself looking for a place to stay.

We selected this hotel based on the good reviews. We did notice a couple of reviews that had mentioned renovations happening. Howver we were very disappointed with the room that was given to us . The hallway was full of construction debris which were not cleaned up at all. The carpet in our room was very old and dirty.. the. Bathroom had no exhaust fan and was full of steam after a shower and collected mold because of this.. overall not a pleasant stay for us . We also had our flight delayed and we checked in a day later but ended up having to pay for 3 nights regardless.. breakfast spread was ok.

I was very happy with all the staff, they made me and my husband feel welcome and comfortable. They were very accommodating. Five stars for the staff. For the price, I did not expect the Ritz, so given that, the room was up to standard, I was happy with the room, comfortable bed, very clean, heating and air conditioning worked well. My husband and I didn’t like the breakfast, there were a lot of food options, but taste is subjective, and it’s just not something we liked. A lot of people did seem to enjoy it though. Parking was good unless we got in really late at night, then it was a little hard to find, but the good thing is they have parking passes that they give all guests so people from neighboring hotels or the restaurant cannot park there.

Renovations were going on in the hallways of all three floors, and you had to traverse “work zones” when moving about the hotel! Otherwise, the hotel is very good!

Not clean

Free makeup bag from previous occupant (aka superficial cleaning). No air conditioning… broken box fan provided. Booked two queen beds provided two doubles. Went to desk to get the soap/shampoo/condition 1/2 ounce bottles that should have at least already been in the room. We had to go find another place to stay because without a/c in an enclosed room it was about 80 degrees… room smelled musty probably because no a/c… DO NOT RISK STAYING HERE. They had no room to switch us to so we suffered for about a five hour attempt to sleep.. we luckily found another place to stay…. Rating minus two.

If I could get a refund I would. The hotel smelled of marijuana, the carpets were dirty, room was small and old. Bed and pillows were not comfortable. A/C barely worked. When called for a trash can she said there was one down the hall. The only decent item was the breakfast, eggs were hot and good

Every staff member I encountered was friendly and courteous. The breakfast was pretty good and all areas of the dining room was clean. The only con is that the carpet in my room needed a good shampoo. It smelled a bit stuffy, the bed had a few long black hairs but the housekeeper had long black hair so I wasn't too concerned. Stuff happens. But there was also a few spots of mold in the shower. Yet, the free parking and noise canceling rooms will definitely keep this hotel as an option for me. If they fix those things it would be a 10/10 stay for the price.

The staff on site were courteous and professional throughout my stay. The complimentary breakfast was average compared to other hotels, with standard options like eggs, sausage, cereal, and pastries. That said, my rating reflects several concerns. The room felt dated; the furniture, carpet, and lamps appeared worn, with some surfaces looking like they had been repainted or had an odd texture. More importantly, the room did not feel thoroughly cleaned. I accidentally dropped a few clean, damp napkins on the floor, and when I picked them up minutes later, they had black residue on them, indicating that the carpet had not been properly cleaned. As a healthcare professional, this left a strong negative impression. Additionally, I was given an accessible room despite booking a standard room nearly a month in advance. Although the staff acknowledged the mistake and told me to check the following morning for a new room, relocating would have been inconvenient since I had already unpacked. Overall, the stay was just okay. I found myself wishing I had stuck with my original plan to stay at a different hotel. I was swayed by the overwhelmingly positive reviews, but unfortunately, my experience didn’t quite align with them.

Good location for us, but the pillows were very hard (gave me a headache) and the in-room refrigerator was very loud and noisy.

Our stay was ok overall but nothing special. You could tell that the lobby and hallways were recently renovated and looked nice but the rooms were not updated and smelled musty. Not to mentioned that they were tiny. My husband and I got a king bed and were tripping over each other trying to get from one end of the room to the other. We stayed two nights and nobody came to clean our room in between so we had to ask for extra towels. Also if you are sensitive to smells, beware of the lobby as the scent is SO strong. Overall not a bad place to stay but could use some improvements.

This was a decent stay in a comfortable room in an area that I felt safe in. The breakfast was decent every morning and it was never too crowded or missing any food items. The only complaint I have is the lighting in the room itself. Everything was on sensor lights so anytime I made a move or to go to the bathroom the main light came on which became very inconvenient.

Former Hampton, updated, very good to excellent overall. Usual breakfast upgraded to hot items. Only area of improvement would be internet connectivity that was below standard.

It would have really been great if there was a microwave in the room

The room was dated, and extremely cramped. I asked for a room less cramped and they said, “all the rooms are the same.” There was no electrical outlet on my side of the bed. They used motion sensor in the bathroom and entry to turn the light on. No way to override it. Get ready for a bright light in the middle of the night when you go to the bathroom. They only clean the room every 3 days, but you probably have to request it.

The price is right with a friendly staff, breakfast with lots of variety and good location. Room was on small side, older furniture but a great bathroom. It was quiet when we stayed and we felt safe at all times.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times this year. Very helpful and cooperative staff. There is a good selection at breakfast with several juices, eggs, waffles and breakfast cereals. There is coffee, tea and hot water in the lobby all day and night. The rooms are clean and quiet. My special thanks to Ernesto, Kim, Patrick and Ken.

The hotel was pretty good, the staff was super nice. They were super helpful and professional. They were constantly checking on me to make sure I was okay, and they asked me every morning at breakfast if I needed anything. The food was great. The only thing I didn't like about it was the location.

My family and I visited the area to manage eldercare issues and attend a performance at the Lyric Opera. While a bit removed from the downtown area, it was perfect for accessing the assisted living homes we needed to visit. The ready-made breakfast was great for kicking off busy days and the first floor seating areas allowed for easy family meetings without piling into a hotel room upstairs.

Very quiet location and centrally located to be close to expressways to get anywhere in the Chicagoland area. The hotel itself always smelled clean, room was quiet, staff very friendly and breakfast was a great touch before starting my day. The only negative (and this is a personal preference) was I wish the motion sensor light in the bathroom had a switch to be turned completely off. I would prefer to not have the bright light come on in the middle of the night. Otherwise it was a great stay.

Visiting friends in the area this location is perfect. Hotel is clean and adequate for your needs.

I stay here every trip to Chicago. Its close enough to lots of food options and the beds are comfortable and clean.

Everything was nice. Disappointed with the buffet breakfast. We stayed 2 nights and the buffet breakfast was the same. They need to change it up. Maybe some bacon, home fries or hash browns.

This is our favorite place to stay. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are comfortable and very clean. There are many choices for breakfast...fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, sweet rolls, cereal and a different hot item each day *example, buscuits and gravy, sausage and eggs, etc. .They also have a waffle machine and a pancake machine.
