Clean, conveniently located hotel for a decent price! The staff were excellent; when we had questions, they had answers. They had maps to give for the Path and helped us find our way around. Shout out to Harry!! The rooms were clean and the beds were perfect. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the fact that they do not have an elevator- so if you have something heavy be prepared to go up or down a couple flight of stairs. Also, the breakfast didn't have many options and if you got there a little later in the morning everything was picked over and they do not restock it. Overall a great location near the Path. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay there again!

The room was clean but in the basement and a bit damp. There is no elevator at this property!

My stay was good for one evening, close to my destination. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I saw no elevators for the floors, the breakfast was light, and there was free parking. The only downfall was that my room door never locked.

Parking was safe and convenient, walk to Path station was quick, many amenities within walking distance in the mall including food options and convenience store.

No fitness or laundry

We had a room on the lower level and it was extremely quiet. Breakfast has a nice selection of pastries, cereal, muffins, tea and coffee, orange juice and water. Tea and coffee and hot chocolate were available all day but no water which would have been appreciated due to the very hot weather we had that week. Location was great, 10 minute walk to the Path station to Manhattan. Lots of eating options to walk to, including a supermarket a few minutes away. The hotel has a nice patio to enjoy breakfast however we wish that smoking on the patio was restricted during breakfast hours, not nice to eat and breathe in smoke! We also had no toiletries in the bathroom but we had bought our own so no biggie.Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend, especially for the free ample parking.

The parking area was safe. The hotel is very close to the entrance to the Holland tunnel, but it was not noisy at all! The employees were extremely helpful and there is a pastry and coffee and juice breakfast for free! The beds were extremely comfortable. The only downside is that there is no elevator. We had a lot of luggage and my older parents staying with us so it was a little tricky to get everything to the room, but the staff really helped with that.

Our stay was good overall. The staff was friendly, breakfast was standard for such properties, free parking and EV chargingstations. The only noticeable downside waa the smell in the room.

Fantastic hotel if you're traveling to NYC with a vehicle. Safe, FREE parking. Very nice, clean rooms. Super friendly and helpful staff. Small but good breakfast. 24/7 coffee and tea. Convenient to PATH station for transport into Manhattan.

Our family had a great stay at The Holland Hotel. Our beds were very comfortable, room was clean, breakfast was small but sufficient, and it was a short walk from the NJ PATH trains into Manhattan.

Cons: Room not clean - dirt on pillow and sheet. No shower gel provided. Smells bad and you heard noise in early morning. Pros: breakfast included, room is large, good location. Overall won’t recommend it.

Room had damp musky smell but was clean

From the reception staff to the housekeeping team, the place exudes caring for their guests. Buffet breakfast was well done. A clean, cozy and comfy place. Blocks away from the NY/NJ PATH and a shopping mall. Definitely recommended.

Very nice staff and the hotel was very clean, and the room was small but well pack with everything you need IE fridge, microwave, hairdryer, ironing board with iron, better than a 1000 a night hotel I’ve stayed at. Walking distance to restaurants, bar and Newport center mall was a two minute walk definitely staying there in the future again.

He helped us with all the subway info we needed and explained how to easily take the PATH train to and from NYC. Prior to check in he let us inspect room as we were worried about bed bugs but let me tell you the room was spotless and beds were super comfy. Breakfast was free and had plenty of options. Parking was just as good with lots of room to park large pick up truck. Overall amazing. Will recommend this little gem to anyone hoping to visit Jersey City or NYC.

The Holland may not look like much but it was a hidden gem for us. Henry at the desk was wonderful at check in. The room was exceedingly quiet despite facing a very busy street. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was absolutely the cleanest hotel bathroom I've ever had (in the US at least). It was conveniently located for our plans (Metlife one night then NYC the next a.m.). Well stovked vending machine, free parking, AND noon check out. The only place I'd ding our stay was breakfast...pastry items (muffins and croissant) were very stale so we threw them out and ate at BK next door.

The bedsheets on one of the beds looked unwashed and had dirty spots on it while the other bed had bugs (spotted and killed one) and I got bites from it/those and it started to itch so badly that we left the hotel in few hours. Hope management will look into it and resolve the issue. We had paid the full amount in advance (over $200 for one night stay) but ended up checking out in 2.5 hours.

The room was small, but had Vintage charm. It was clean and had everything we needed for the night. It was close to parking for Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty ferry. Thank you for a good night sleep….

The only thing I had a problem with was our TV in the room didn't work. So, I went to the front desk and ask about it the employee came to our room and couldn't figure out the problem. So, he informed the manager on duty. The manager comes to checkout the problem and couldn't get it too work and asked us did we do anything to the TV. How, could we do anything to the TV when it never worked. That's the only issue I didn't like with the Manager.

Great location for popping on the train and heading into the city, about a 15 min walk to the PATH station. Lower level rooms (floor 1) are garden level, which I assume lead to the slightly musty smell. Other than that, gorgeously clean, helpful and friendly staff, and I would def stay again!

The location was great. Our room/bathroom was very small but still comfortable. The breakfast was good. Our only problem was that we are older and there is no elevator so lugging the baggage up flights of narrow stairs was not enjoyable.

This place is a great option when visiting NYC. Cheap, clean, safe, and staffed by nice, smart, people. But both beds in my room were in need of replacement. They have years of wear and tear from guests sitting on one side of the bed, wearing it down. It's drastic. Really. No hyperbole. But I will staty here again. All other factors make up for it.

The receptionist requested and recorded my credit card information even though I told him I had paid it online. This made me very uncomfortable and felt risky. His explanation was for security deposit reasons. I think I can make a security deposit when I check in, but recording customers’ credit card information is not a right thing! I have to cancel the credit card I used in this hotel. I should give 5 stars if my credit card information was not recorded.

Our stay was absolutely perfect. It was a 10 minute walk to the PATH train, which made getting in and out of the city a breeze! It was our first time to NYC and we couldn't have had a more perfect trip. Free parking at the hotel was wonderful, the gentleman at the front desk provided us with TONS of helpful information. We felt very safe out entire stay! Would definitely come back and stay again!

Check in was very friendly, Harry was very nice and helpful. The hotel room was very nice and clean! Torico ice cream was a nice 10 minute or so walk from the hotel, an absolute MUST TRY!! Other dining options close by as well. Will definitely return if ever in the area again. Thank you to all the staff for a great stay!

GM, calls my room accusing me of smoking in my room!! He was rude and very aggressive! I was leaving my room for the day and asked Quinton to please come to my room so he could see/smell for himself. He said NO! And angrily hung up the phone! Terrible customer service. How dare you accuse me so rudely and then refuse to see the truth!! I went to the front desk and told the desk guy what had happened. I asked him to please come to the room because I felt the GM was trying to be shady and collect money for false allegations. GM comes from back, interrupts us and says NO he’s not leaving the front desk! People are allowed to smoke outside per hotel policy. If your floor is on the first floor your ac/vent faces the area where people are allowed to smoke. So instead of taking the responsibility of not having a designated “smoking area” for the people outside smoking in turn causing rooms to smell of smoke due to poor management. GM wanted someone to blame for HIS poor managing!! Lastly there’s several rooms with no working heaters. Room 220 I checked in 18 degrees outside and no heat!! I had to prop my door open to get the hallway heat. I was given another room directly access (221 maybe) NO HEAT. GM wanted to play “let’s find a working heater” I suggested a working portable heater would be ok. I had things to do and places to go. Ridiculous service from a General Manager! The staff was outstanding! Helpful and considerate. The GM was absolutely terroble’

We arrived very early expecting to just park our car and head to the city. We were very pleased to be offered a room & check in! Very kind front desk staff. Clean room. Walking distance to the Path station.

Booked a two (2) day occupancy. When I came back to the room after the first day the room was not made up, no one had cleaned the room or toilet space. I complained to the front desk; I was told that the room was on a list of 'to be cleaned only by request'. I had never been informed of the need to request that my room be cleaned after the first day's occupancy. Very disappointing.

Great location walking distance to shops and restaurants. Easy to get in and out of and plenty of parking. Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff was great.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is average, but location is great. We were able to walk to the path station. We felt safe walking back to the hotel late at night. Easy to get in and out of Jersey City from the hotel. We had a view of the Empire State building from our window. Quick easy drive to Liberty State Park.

Basic no frills hotel. Rooms are decent sized compared to Manhattan. 5 min walk from the Newport PATH makes commute very convenient.

Super convenient, walkable to the metro station to get to Manhattan, free parking and breakfast included. Yet it was still affordable!

This was very close to NYC and Liberty Park. It was a nice walk to this attraction. Also, a 12 pm check out:-)

It's very comfortable hotels. In walk distance from the train to midtown at Manhattan. I highly recommended this hotel if you want to save money receive free parking for your car, and to be short distance from Manhattan.

This is a terrific hotel in a good location with easy access to the PATH train station into NYC. I alway appreciate the comfort of the room, the friendliness of the staff, and price is definitely right!

Breakfast area is right in the office and gets really crowded. Pretty limited options. Room was nice and clean, cold a/c and comfortable bed. Stayed with my son for the Summer Slam 2025… L… A… Knight… YEAHHHH!

Terrible breakfast options but hotel was very clean

The breakfast rolls include doughnuts from the nearby Dunkin Doughnuts.

Everything was awesome apart from the breakfast which only included pastries. Probably, they could include some protein options (eg. egg).
