Several reviews mention the pool being closed or poorly maintained, and breakfast, when offered, is minimal or absent despite some listings. Rooms vary widely, with some spacious and comfortable, but recurring complaints cite HVAC, water temperature/pressure, fixtures, and noise. A few guests reported reservation or late check in difficulties and limited communication. Best for budget minded travelers focused on location.

Staff was very courteous and quick check in and out. Pool was a little dirty. Towels could have been cleaner. Need more bathroom safety- shower too slippery. Also, difficult to operate the nozzle for hot and cold.

Our family of 3 has stayed at the Rodeway Inn three times in 2024 (October, November, and December). With season passes to HersheyPark, we visit often from Baltimore and in the past have stayed at multiple different hotels mostly in Harrisburg to save money. We decided to try The Rodeway Inn because of the price and the location being very close to the park. Now, we are hesitant to even stay anywhere else as this motel meets our basic needs. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and parking is available most likely right outside your room. I’ve booked already for June and will be sure to stay again!

The hotel needs an update, it’s like a scene from the 80’s, the curtains on the windows have cracks from being old, the sliding screen door in the room was broken, the furnishings needed an update, the pool was freezing, the hot tub was covered with plywood and had a table sitting on top of it, we won’t stay here again in we come into town,

This motel is great for the price point. It’s got an adorable gazebo out front and all the rooms have very accessible parking. We were in town for two days at Hershey Park and it’s only half mile away. Nice bed too. We would stay again.

Let me say this first! The Staff was very Friendly & Nice! That being said. The room smelled like Mildew! Because it was Mildew! I know from my experience in my profession! The air filter in the ac were dirty. The Bathroom tub faucet had to be pulled very hard to turn on. Bugs were crawling on the ceiling! If I had not came in late I would’ve drove home the same night. So first thing in the morning I checked out! Sad part is it’s close to all the attractions. Unfortunately I can’t ever recommend this establishment! Hotel Impossible would have a field day about the minor things that could’ve been done. By the way they actually had audacity to have an envelope hand written “TIPS” that was very unprofessional considering it was a wrinkled envelope!

I have been sick all morning THE MOLD SMELL ALL NIGHT.I asked to be moved and he said u got what u got. I can get more money for the room, the owner said you should be lucky to have a room, that has black mold in the heater vents and real bad under the kitchen sink.

More like a motel rather than a hotel. It was a place to stay close to Chocolate Ave for a couple of nights. Very dated inside - looked promising from the outside. Bathroom needs a good cleaning and updating. Horrible water pressure through the shower head. A/C unit in the wall is from the 1970's! It works, but it's loud and has got to be eating electricity 24/7. Room was a tad humid and musty. For the price we paid, it was not worth it. We'd spend a little bit more and stay at Day's Inn. This place was a one and done.

The doors to the rooms are not well insulated (therefore, we hear everything going on outside as if people were in the room with us). There were dirt and hand stains over the bed on the ceiling, and part of the wallpaper is held up by a pushpin. Breakfast is NOT included (even though it says it is). The bed is super comfortable and warm though!

We booked this hotel to go to Hershey Park - perfect! It was only 10 mins away. Tons of places nearby to grab food and or coffee in the morning. Also, it's in a very nice neighborhood and the beds were super comfortable!! My grandchildren loved that we could all sleep in the same room - it felt like a slumber party.

Check in was easy, beds were comfortable enough and the area seemed safe and quiet from what we could see during the one evening and night we were there. However, the knob to make the shower work as a tub was broken so I had to shower the little kids and the "warm" water was lukewarm for about 5 minutes before just being cold, (it did last longer in the morning, both adults got through quick showers but still warmish water, not hot) the ac didn't work properly (set at 68 it stayed 80 in the room and 66 made it a freezer, no comfortable in between, so we had to adjust throughout the night), the hair dryer didn't work, and if you used the microwave it dimmed the lights. Also you had to hold down the toilet flusher for the whole time it slowly flushed or it just stopped. We were not there long enough to ask anyone to try to fix anything so unsure what the response would have been to those requests but we did report the broken tub knob at checkout. Clearly an older property that needs work, but the room was clean and the neighbors were quiet.

We booked the hotel months in advance since it was close to the concert venue we were at. I contacted them to let them know that we would be checking in late at night due to the concert attendance. I was informed that the front desk closes at 10pm and they lock the front door and they couldn’t make accommodations for me to get my key. In addition, I spoke to the manager and asked that they cancel my reservation at no charge due to the check in restrictions. I was told they would not make an exception. HORRIBLE customer service. There was nothing in the reservation that noted the front desk hours. I lost money on this reservation and had to pay for a room somewhere else. This situation makes me not want to book through hotels.com anymore.

Several outlets in the room were not functioning. The outlet next to the sink was not a GFI outlet, the microwave was outdated, and the room door lacked a proper seal, allowing visible gaps to the outside. Additionally, the shower did not produce warm water because the mixing valve was incorrectly installed. When I reported these concerns to the front desk, my concerns were dismissed with laughter, which I found unprofessional and disappointing.

We were quite happy with our stay! Jigger greeted me for check in and was congenial & welcoming. Our room had a fresh, soft scent of lavender and was comfortable with everything we needed for our stay; toiletries, blow dryer, coffee maker and a fridge. They had fresh, hot coffee in the lobby/office and a vending machine with drinks. Jigger recommended restaurants which were within walking distance and we even had a short walk to the Hershey Theatre for a pre planned show. We had a good night of restful sleep. We would definitely book again for a stay and would recommend Rodeway Inn & Suites on Ateba in Hershey❣️

We ended up checking in late the the nice gentleman at the counter stayed an extra 30 mins to check us in. Nice, clean room. Soft sheets and the bed is pretty comfortable. Parked right out in front of our room with the trailer so very convenient. No breakfast availability in the am (it didn't say they did either in the description) but they did have coffee. Thank you!

Friendly staff. Five minutes walking distance to Hershey Theater, restaurants and shopping. The room was much larger than most hotel/motel rooms. It was clean. The motel is located in a quiet residential area. It is an old property. Recommend the carpet be replaced. Will stay there again if in the Hershey area.

The motel is located in a quiet residential area. It is an old property. Recommend the carpet be replaced. Will stay there again if in the Hershey area.

The property didn’t have heat I wanted to cancel as I noticed I booked at the wrong place. No wifi no breakfast no pool just sleep and go The cold is what made it so awful. Literally stay only one night if you must

Took a double beds room , room smells bad , pillows and blankets not clean and stained , fridge not working so I had to trash the whole food and the baby milk, very poor breakfast, actually the breakfast was a joke.price was higher than other places, completely disappointing.

Place needs major renovations, and deep cleaning. Freezer was 2 inches full of ice. Milk even froze in the fridge. They advertised breakfast right waffles snd fruit. There were no waffles or fruit, only cereal, plain bagels snd mini muffins. Coffee was bad. Had yo bring your bath towel to the pool then get another for bath. Paid $269 per night do it wasn’t cheap. Staff spoke little English. Would not stay again.

Thank you!

Room was clean and comfortable, but the air conditioner didn't work properly. The pool was very nice- enjoyed having it all to myself. Wanted to check in a little early because I arrived before the 4:00 pm check in time and was told it would cost $10 per hour early. Never heard of anywhere doing that, so I left and came back after 4:00. Other than that staff was friendly and motel is in walking distance of a lot of nice things to do

The location was perfect for us. We could walk to the downtown restaurants and the Hershey Theatre our primary destination. Located in a residential neighborhood. Rooms were clean. Staff eager to help when we weren’t sure exactly how to swipe key card. Old style building and decor but it suited our needs. We able to park directly in front of our room.
