What guests think

At The Ashton Hotel, travellers highlight a charming historic boutique stay in a very walkable downtown location with consistently friendly staff and spacious rooms, but note limited on-site amenities, pricey/slow valet parking, and signs of age in places.

Many appreciate the vintage character and comfortable beds. Common issues include street noise, occasional AC or heating problems, and sporadic maintenance or housekeeping lapses. Dining is limited or closed at times, with breakfast often just coffee, muffins, or yogurt. Expect a convenient, character-filled stay best for guests prioritizing location and service over full amenities.

Check in staff was wonderful. The hotel is within easy walking distance to Sundance Square with lots of dining options. We had an issue retrieving our car at check out that delayed us 45 min. The valet attached our name to two cars and brought the wrong car to us. The front desk clerk was aware of the error but didn’t attempt to contact valet (he was not onsite) after we waited nearly 30 min. Valet is $55/night plus tax/tip. Too expensive and inefficient.

Bathroom was not clean. Found trash in multiple places, hair all over the floor. Showed up to the hotel not feeling well on the day of my reservation. No security at this downtown hotel! As a woman travelling alone on business I was shocked to find the lobby unmanned with elevators and floors anyone could access. Staff was nice but disorganised. Car parking was overpriced and inconvenient. Room was dark and old and smelled musty. Sheets did not smell fresh. Dirty windows. Breakfast was just yogurt and muffins and the bar/ restaurant was closed. A homeless person came in while I was waiting to check out, plugged in a cell phone then left. Clearly this hotel is not aware of the need for guest safety because I felt that anyone could have come in and roamed around.

The bathroom floor in room 202 was incredibly sticky. Not sure if it’s the cleaning products or something was spilled but it felt disgusting. I’m mainly leaving this review because I’m upset about my car which has nothing to do with the Ashton since I’m sure they just have a contract with them. I have an app on my phone that lets me know the location and everything about my car etc. I’m upset because Valet left my car UNLOCKED, someone rolled one WINDOW DOWN and the IGNITION was running for 2.5 hours before I bothered to take a look at the text notification I received from Mercedes. I’m really upset about that! I went downstairs and spoke with a man named Charolette (who probably needs another individual working the front desk with him) who contacted the Hilton for me to have car situation addressed. This was my first and will be my last time staying here.

Spent a coule of days in Ft. Worth and chose to stay at The Ashton. The hotel is centrally located on Main St, within an easy walk of restaurants and Sundance Square. We loved our stay. When we asked if we might have a room facing the Main Street Arts Festival, the front desk clerk said she’d do her best. When we received our text telling us our room was ready (we were quite early) we were very happy to see that we’d been given a corner room with the best views! The room was very comfortable, clean, and tastefully decorated. The staff was very friendly and eager to accommodate in any way they could. The Ashton is a beautiful historical hotel that we plan to return to again.

Really cool historic building. Staff was really nice and room was clean. I was initially really happy to have a corner room because of the windows, but a lot of noise came through from the street at night (loud cars and loud people). I would stay again, but ask for a higher floor or room away from the street.

Front desk and valet were great - pleasant and helpful. Room was comfortable. Walls are super thin. Unfortunately we were placed in a room that had a door to an adjoining suite that was closed off. For some reason another guest was placed in the room next door…in the middle of the week. Hotel was not even close to full. We could hear their conversations. Which was not too much of a problem until around 8p when we start hearing screaming and yelling “get the F off of me” over and over. We went to the front desk only to find out there is no onsite security?? Called FW PD. To my knowledge they never showed even though it sounded like a murder next door. The hotel did move us to a quieter room on another floor. I felt bad for the poor 20 something girl manning the desk alone…overnight…with no security. Certainly not the Ashton’s fault that some guests got involved in a DV incident, but makes you wonder about the clientele.

We were never told that we would be paying an extra $35 US because it is a heritage listed hotel obviously Expedia did not explain that to us.
