Excellent location just outside of Stowe a 1.5 mi walk along rec path or short drive. Stowe Bee bakery next door for breakfast/lunch with GF options. Right off the rec path was wonderful. Clean, comfortable all the amenities just as described. Comfy beds, great shower. Staff was lovely. Hot tub was nice!

Very clean hotel, staff is friendly. The room has base board heating so it is warm and the air is not dry. Unfortunately the hotel is much behind in maintenance. We were assigned a second floor first but a metal part of the lock was off place blocking the door from closing and cannot be screwed back in place. We were then assigned to another room, whose electronic lock system doesn't work so the staff could only give one traditional key, which is not easy to carry. The shower tub diverter doesn't work properly so only a small stream of water comes out of the overhead shower head. Also during the 3 days we were there, the hot jacuzzi by the swimming pool was out of order all the time and nobody could use that either.

Great hotel with modern rooms. Well located, close to shopping and restaurants, this hotel can't be beat. We enjoyed the two available pools, hot tub and gym along with coffee shops located near the hotel. This hotel is walkable to nearby hiking trails and restaurants.

A little tired looking needs a good spring cleaning, indoor pool black ring around it, frog in outdoor pool, no one to check us in for 10 minutes, bathroom had mold and needed some painting. Beds were comfortable, only one chair on deck, place needs to be paved, dirt and gravel got everywhere, on room floor, in our car, looks like someone ran out of money before finishing the job.

We enjoyed our brief stay at the Gray Fox Inn. The room was spacious and quiet. While we did not use the indoor or outdoor pools, they looked quite inviting. The only downside to the property is that the fitness room is a joke. The elliptical was quite dated and had a stride length appropriate for a 6 year old. The treadmill did not work. The universal gym was old and poor quality. They did have some free weights though. Granted, most people do not go to a VT hotel looking for a fitness center when the are beautiful hiking trails, but it was raining. The other disappointment was that the wifi is terrible to non-existent. There is an excellent coffee shop across the street with good wifi, so it was not a major inconvenience.

Overall it was good. We went there for getting a hot tub to end up a day, but the hottub was actually pretty nasty. We got to the pool at 9am when it opened, there were bubbles floating on the top of water and some random toys in the tub. They should be cleaned every day.

The location was prime. Very nice bike/walk path behind facilities. Easy walk to restaurants. Small convenience store right next door with excellent coffee. The room we had was #29 and the room was a wonderful size and location. Two demerits. Bathtub had a bit of mold. Stairs leading down to room is very steep. A lot for a 68 year old man to carry 2 large suitcases. Even though the old man is a certified gym rat.

Second time staying at this hotel but this stay was well below average, the room was not comfortable at all and pretty run down, the couch in living area very uncomfortable and the pillows on the bed felt like the cheapest pillows money can by, the room was not very clean, found multiple hairs around the room, sink, shower that were not mine. Due to how uncomfortable the stay was and cleanness I won’t be back

I absolutely loved this hotel. It was modern, super clean and had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. It was great to have a separate sitting area in my room with a sofa, TV, microwave and fridge. Plenty of great parking and less than one mile to walk into Stowe. Lovely pool and hot tub. Would highly recommend and I would definitely stay here again.

The room was more than we expected. The view from the small balcony was beautiful and peaceful. The room was very clean and the kitchen had everything needed to cook if I’d wanted to. We were very comfortable. The only thing I’d like that wasn’t there was a light for the second entrance. We came in after dark a couple of times and it was really hard to see the drive. Otherwise, terrific!

None of the outlets in the sitting room worked and when we asked about it, we were told, she would reset it. It still did not work. The bed was very soft and the sheets would not stay tucked in. The air conditioner did not work and the room got warm. We had to open the balcony door to get it cooled off.

The cleanest, quiet and cozy room. A beautiful view out the balcony. Very easy to get around to downtown and lots of restaurant options nearby. Definitely would come again! Loved our stay!

Loved my stay at Grey Fox Inn! Location was great, just a short drive to town, and walking distance to some cool restaurants. Parking was convenient and free, just steps from our room. The room was very large with a a balcony, kitchen, sitting area, and bathroom. Staff was friendly and helpful. There are physical keys, but there are also digital keys, which is nice if you end up arriving after the front desk closes and makes for an express check out too via the app.

The first impression was a bit disappointing because it was a motel and not a hotel. However, the room was very nice with a kitchenette, table, desk, fireplace (ambience only, no heat) and tiny balcony.

Great Stowe location, double queen room was roomy, and he quality of the furniture was first-rate. But lots of vacant space should have been used for 1) a desk: I work on vacations, I'll be others do also, and I'm used to having a desk in every hotel room; and 2) a table and chairs suitable for at least two people. There was one (very comfortable) chair, and one (very nicely made) desk less than 24" in diameter, suitable for one person to eat or work but not for two or more people to enjoy cocktails or take-out food. The only real sitting option was the bed.

The best thing about this hotel was its location. Its minutes from the village and in the main street for restaurants, bars, bakeries and more. Sadly, the photos in the website make rooms look much bigger and cossy. They were really small and outdated. Basically no closet space, not even to accomodate suitcases and coats for our family of 3. Specially for a ski vacation and all the additional stuff. No drawer on main room and only one small night table. No elevator available. We had issues with the ac and, although did follow through, did not got fixed. Staff was generally friendly but they are not physically there after 10pm. Property surroundings are nice.

Due to arrive after normal check-in hours, we called the hotel’s main number multiple times and spoke with their answering service twice on our way. The service assured us that we would receive a call back from the property ahead of our arrival with instructions for getting into our room. No one called back, and when we arrived at 10:30pm, the main door was locked. We tried another door and were able to enter the hotel, but at the front desk there was no note, envelope or any other information to indicate how to get into our room. There was one keycard left on the desk with no note or name attached to it - we tried it and found the room occupied. After more calls to the answering service and fruitless searching, we finally located a plastic slot near the locked main door containing an envelope with our name written on it and keycard inside. The slot would have been easier to find if the door to the main entry was unlocked, but it was completely obscured from the other side of the front desk that the unlocked door led to. 30+ minutes of wasted time, with no response whatsoever from hotel management after a long drive made the stay 100% unenjoyable.

This property was great when we stayed last year. Our room was cleaned only once in a 4-night stay. One night they changed our garbage and gave us new towels but did not clean our room. The next night they didn't do anything. When we arrived back at the hotel after dinner we had a dirty room and no toilet paper. The front desk was closed so I had to go buy TP at a local store. When I complained the next day when my room was not cleaned for a 3rd day in a row they apologized and said my room was marked as cleaned. Unfortunately there was no one left to clean the toom so they only were able to give us new towels. To top it off the hot tub was closed for " scheduled maintenance" on 2/21. I inquired when they were going to reopen it and the receptionist just said - " I don't know, they need to order parts". I said that doesn't sound like scheduled maintenance. The receptionist just shrugged her shoulders as if to say - tough. I was disappointed because I love to hit the hot tub after a day of skiing. Now here comes the WORST part. My wife and I developed a bacterial infection due to contaminated water in the hot tub and had to be treated with antibiotics. This happened to my friend who was staying there as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Grey Fox Inn for check in to check out. Friendly staff. Newly renovated clean, comfortable, quiet rooms. I especially liked the accessibility to walking trails, restaurants, and shopping.

Rob was really awesome and exchanged our room when the fireplace didn't work. He also helped us extend our stay with no fuss. Room was very nice and we will definitely be back.

To begin with the night staff was rude and very unprofessional. When I came in trying to fix my reservation I was told “I only work part time and honestly it’s above my pay grade.”. Trying to get things straightened out was a complete nightmare. On top of it while I was sleeping housekeeping just walked into my room. I was never told about breakfast which isn’t a problem but still would have been nice to know. Overall I will never stay there again and will gladly go elsewhere.

Excellent location just outside of Stowe a 1.5 mi walk along rec path or short drive. Stowe Bee bakery next door for breakfast/lunch with GF options. Right off the rec path was wonderful. Clean, comfortable all the amenities just as described. Comfy beds, great shower. Staff was lovely. Hot tub was nice!

Excellent location in Stowe, Vt. Close to everything. I had a first floor room with patio. All I had to do was walk past the lawn and I was able to walk the Stowe recreation trail. The rooms were gorgeous inside with nice details I would not see in a hotel. The only downside is there are no elevators or free breakfast. Bring a camping grill and place on patio if you want to cook. Close to all local attractions including two covered bridges, alchemist for brewery tour and the village of Stowe.

Loved my stay at Grey Fox Inn! Location was great, just a short drive to town, and walking distance to some cool restaurants. Parking was convenient and free, just steps from our room. We loved our stay at Grey Fox Inn. The property is quaint and generally walkable for Stowe. We took the paved trail all the way to Main Street and enjoyed the atmosphere. Plenty of dining options within a 15 minute walk. We did not use the pool though both indoor and outdoor options looked inviting.

The whole experience was fantastic!!! The rooms were comfortable and perfect for us. We had breakfast one morning and the pancakes were delicious!!! There were plenty of restaurants to choose from and the one we chose was very tasty! The pools, both inside and out were crystal clear and well kept! Overall, it was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had.

Super convenient to downtown Stowe. Older but clean. Pool and hot tub very clean. In does not have any amenities. No food or coffee. Thankfully there is a Very good coffee shop bakery next door, The Stowe Bee. Many good eating places close by.

Great hotel with modern rooms. Well located, close to shopping and restaurants, this hotel can't be beat. We enjoyed the two available pools, hot tub and gym along with coffee shops located near the hotel. This hotel is walkable to nearby hiking trails and restaurants.

Overall a good economical alternative to staying on Stowe resort property. Suite was a good size for families. Hot tub was out of order first day and did not really warm up for 2 days. Free wifi was available but very slow. Also restaurant/bar was not open during out stay. Not quite as advertised.

We are on day 12 of a 14 day road trip and have stayed in a different city and different hotel every night…some chains and some not. This was BY FAR my favorite! If you are ever near here and they have availability…pick this one. Rooms were clean and very homey with an upscale look inside. I didn’t use any amenities because we only stayed for one night…but looked nice and front desk was very friendly.
