What guests think

Hampton Inn Wytheville draws mixed feedback, with many guests praising friendly staff, clean renovated rooms, and a satisfying free breakfast, while ongoing renovations bring occasional noise, limited parking, service lapses, and intermittent maintenance or cleanliness issues.

Pool and hot tub are appreciated when open, and the fitness room earns praise, but closures and an out-of-service elevator appear in several stays. Rooms vary from updated and comfortable to dated or noisy, with some small bathrooms, firm beds, and occasional odors or equipment problems. Location is convenient to the interstate and nearby dining, though a few note highway noise and challenging parking during construction. Expect a convenient stopover with renovation-related tradeoffs.

This hotel is undergoing renovations but there wasn’t any construction noise while we visited. Our first room was huge and had a full sofa and two beds.. but the new AC unit was leaking water and soaked their brand new carpet. They promptly moved us to another new room, a tad smaller but still very nice. Beds were comfortable (though quite firm) and everything was super clean. Pool area and hot tub were excellently kept and spacious. Breakfast was great with a good selection before we hit the road again. Staff was very friendly and quick to accommodate or provide local recommendations. Would easily stay here again next time we’re passing through!

Nice place with very nice breakfast. The advertised pool and Whirlpool was a critical reason to book there only to find out that the pool area was closed for maintenance and had been for over a week.

The property was dine, but I'm sure will be nicer when the renovations are complete. Due to reno's, you could not pull up to the dront to check in or load/unload tour luggage. However, once the renovations are complete im aure it will be as expected from Hampton Inn. The staff was coutwous and friendly and checking in/out was easy.

The room was average but they are doing renovations so can’t complain too much. Breakfast was good and had warm/cold options. Didn’t get a chance to utilize the pool area but looked nice. After a long day of travel it would have been nice to use the shower but was completely off put but the clumps and strands of black hair left in the shower. We did inform the front desk however there were no other rooms available.

Every time I book a hotel with a 3rd party I get the worst room. This time 1st floor beside meeting room that was being used by someone till 11pm. Property was under renovation which is understandable but dirty. Mold on ceiling in bathroom. Dirt on floor, stain on sheets. Won’t use 3rd party again

I personally would not stay here again. Maybe it will be better once they finish the upgrades they’re doing. With how much they charge for a room, I expected WAY more. Here are the areas where I had issues with the room: As soon as we entered the room we noticed it smelled like dog urine that was covered up/cleaned up with a very strong carpet cleaner smell. It was awful. The lamp on the desk was super rusty. Why? Replace it. The lamp on my side of the bed did not work. Why? Replace it. The top sheet had very weird “crusty” like areas all over it that were scratchy. If we were not absolutely exhausted from driving all day, we would have left once we discovered all of this. Pick another place, honestly.

Our room was poorly cleaned after the previous guest. The shower pan had stray hairs and there was a used towel hanging on the back if the bathroom door. The drink machine failed to dispense a drink at two different times. Upon checkout, the clerk barely made eye contact with me, let alone ask how our stay was. The per fee on Expedia showed as $50 but when we arrived at the property they charged me $75.

Appears to be an older and parts of which are under renovation that has caused a good deal of dust and dirt in the common areas of the hotel. The room was clean however the bathroom commode was loose and rocked back and forth when sitting down or getting up. The. Sink had a hole and crack in it. So I guess the overall renovation is needed. Nice friendly and courteous staff.

The pull out sofa bed wasn’t super comfortable but the room was very nice, clean and well appointed. The regular beds were pretty firm, so if you like firm beds these will be great for you. They had ample pillows and blankets. Easy to control AC as well to keep room at a good temp. The bathroom, in addition to the usually little shampoos and conditioner and soaps also had complimentary shower cap and a small pony tail holder to keep you hair secure and dry. They also provided complimentary tampons and feminine pads in the ladies room on first floor. All in all was a good stay.

Room was clean. The setup of the room was awkward. Needs updated TV was 32 inches, pretty small by today’s standards. Bathroom very small. One corner of the room lacking what should have been room for a chair but there was none, but there was a floor lamp for whatever reason. Instead of a nightstand between the beds there was a very small shelf which barely held the lamp and phone. This place was ok for a brief overnight stay, but not up to Hampton standards.
