What guests think

At Days Inn by Wyndham Virginia Beach At The Beach, travellers consistently praise the convenient spot just across from the beach and the friendly staff, while noting the property is older with dated rooms and mixed upkeep.

Many enjoy the heated outdoor pool and simple free breakfast, though food variety and breakfast cleanliness are inconsistent. Cleanliness and maintenance feedback is mixed, with repeated reports of worn furnishings, musty odors, lukewarm or no hot water, and occasional bugs or mold. Noise from the street, other guests, and sporadic fire alarms or elevator issues also comes up. Expect a budget-friendly, beach-adjacent stay with friendly service but aging facilities.

Pool still one of the best on strip. Opens early in season and heated to 80 plus all the time. 2nd floor so street noise minimum. Pool and deck is always in sun. It is an older hotel so it shows its age but gracefully. Location is prime in my opinion. Easy walks to 17th St Pier and Rudee inlet. Many great restaurants, shops and other venues. It is aprox 200 yards from beach right across Atlantic Ave and great views of beach from pool deck and room balconies. This was 5th stay in 15 years and although not a regular will continue to stay here when next trip rolls around. Staff is great. Owner very personable and his dog is the best......

Parking is a bit tight with our compact sedan (is300). Other than that we had a room that connected directly to the pool so had access even after closing which was nice! Refrigerator was so cold that the second from top shelf froze my water bottle. Cross the street and you're at the beach. Clean linen and no smells in room. Exterior could use a soft wash and our toilet was not caulked so it wiggled a little. Water gets HOT but pressure was mid. Friendly staff. Extended our stay an extra night and it was no hassle. They offer a free breakfast but we walked a block to scrambled since it was so good! Never got to try the hotel's free breakfast but they do offer it. Pool is heated with a rock waterfall. Depth ranges for 3.5 to 6.5 ft. Decent for getting a swim in if it's not crowded. I'd rate this hotel 5/5 for customer service, 4/5 for cleanliness and 5/5 for location vs pricing. Overall, 5/5 and will stay here again if or when we come back to VA Beach.

The property had black mold which we found after all getting sick and pulling the beds back. There was black mold all across the back. When we went to pack, we found our suitcases were covered in smelly water that leaked from the window due to upstairs people and poor sealing of windows. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The staff cleaning were always so pleasant and sweet in the mornings. They were replacing all the furniture in the buildings while we stayed so maybe that will be nice in the future. For now, the structure itself just needs some work. I’m hoping my asthma will clear up now that we are leaving. I had to see a specialist during my stay because we didn’t know what was going on with my lungs. Further, there were people using meth outside and that gets sucked into the room through the ac.

EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED

The hotel is not in the best standards, from inside and out. The area and environment itself does not feel safe. I highly would not recommend if you are traveling with kids or family. The room was okay, smelled cleaned. However, nothing that is going to exceed expectations. The walls are thin so you can hear evedything going on in the rooms next to you, or anyone walking by. Overall, ended up leaving after one night stayed, when it was supposed to be multiple nights. I would stay away from this hotel if possible.

A few days at the beach. Not a five star hotel but comfortable. While a bit dated the price was in line for what you get. Our room had a comfortable bed, sofa, coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave and included a buffet breakfast everyday but most of all it was on the strip in front of the beach. We had a balcony with a view of the ocean and a pool reserved for guest. The staff was friendly, polite and helpful. Where we sat on the balcony, there was all rust, and it literally look like the balcony was going to fall apart. The big window to look at the beach was filthy. Go in the bathroom cabinet to get the blow dryer and it smells like mold so bad. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work. The colors of the room were absolutely terrible. Nothing matched. And the windows were horrible. You hear everything from the street terrible. I have pictures to prove it not happy. We did not have our room cleaned because we can use the same stuff for two days, but I asked the maid if she would leave us some new towels, she told me she would leave them on our door handle. They were never there. The people next-door woke me up at 1:30 am till 2:30 in the morning carrying on. I recorded it because it was so loud not happy with the place at all. Michele Schreckenstein

Our room was right next to the door for the pool. Every time it opened it slammed and was very noisy. The pool was supposed to close at 9 o’clock and there were people there some nights until 10 or after. We had to call one night and say something about the noise at the pool with the door, keeping us awake. I don’t think staff addressed it. Our last night there the fire alarm went off and was going off for several minutes and woke us up at 11:30 PM. When checking out no one asked us how our visit was.

Normally, I would have said, "If you\'re going to Virginia Beach for a beach vacation, this hotel will do the trick. It was comfortable, clean and reasonably priced." But because of my below detailed frustration, I can\'t. The property has an agreement with a construction company, working on a project that isn\'t on the hotel property, to save parking spaces for their crew out at the open end of the parking lot. As a result, I was told that there was no room for my vehicle, which was oversized, but easily could have parked on site, if all of the space, at the open end of the lot weren\'t being reserved for a construction crew building someone else\'s property. I was further frustrated because when I asked for suggestions of where to look for parking, the front desk person\'s response was, "I don\'t know."
