What guests think

At Best Western Atlantic City Beach Block, guests highlight the short walk to the boardwalk and budget-friendly rates, but note an aging property with inconsistent cleanliness, paid on-site parking, a gritty surrounding area, and mixed experiences with service and breakfast.

Rooms are often described as dated, with occasional issues like smoke odors, leaks, weak water pressure, or malfunctioning TVs, heat, and elevators. Several reviews mention noise, false fire alarms, and narrow hallways that feel cramped. Best for short, no-frills stays where price and proximity matter more than polish.

Took about 45 mins to check in. Everyone must have been on lunch break or out cause security was doing check ins. Parking lot is SMALL AS HELL FOR $20 a night to park. That’s ridiculous. Limited food options after 10pm. 7 eleven is not an option for dinner smh. Room was very clean and smelled nice. Amenities worked well and looked presentable. The air conditioner though, that was smelling like RAID bug spray once you turned it on. Afterwards the smell faded. Not sure what that’s about but I never saw a bug either. Bed was amazing, had a great night sleep. Bathroom was small but clean didn’t really care for shower head or pressure. I would stay again for sure for a weekend trip.

there were literal crackheads with needles sticking out of their arms standing on the street. the room they put me in was right next to that street and the door didn’t even lock. Mind you, there was no staff overnight and there was a random fire alarm that went off every morning at 6am even though there was no fire. Firemen came, checked the building, and just told everyone to go back inside. Again, there was no staff to tell us what to do. We were all confused. Horrible hotel.

The neighborhood was less than desirable. I was frustrated at the cost of the hotel when I saw where it was located and then became more frustrated that they charge for PARKING!!! Crazy as there is very limited parking and we had to park in a lot around the corner from the hotel (thankfully it was a short walk in the dark!). Room was a Non-smoking room that reeked of cigarettes. Bonus - The staff was very kind and accommodating in spite of my frustration. Thank you!

Booked this hotel for its good location, but the run down hallways and bathrooms and dirty, messy (slow) elevator and almost comical "hot breakfast" were all deal breakers for considering a return to this property. There were stained and worn carpets in all the hallways and our bathroom was not very clean upon check in. The breakfast room was small and "buffet" tiny and only hot items were hard, tasteless sausage patties and "over well" eggs (cooked, as the hot tray ran out of them on a pepper plate in a small microwave next to it *in* the middle of the "buffet" setup (LOL!?) ... wheat or white toast and 4 slice toaster that everyone was constantly waiting on to toast their bread. one small coffee machine that only accommodated one person at a time ... and some plain yogurt in a machine and some walnuts or almonds by cheerios or frosted wheat cereal bins. It was really a comical setup for the "included hot buffet" ... AND Parking on-site was an additional $25 per day (!) pic is view from our king bed room

The room was fine. The problem is the fire alarm went off at 9 AM consistently for a half hour, then kept going off randomly for the next few hours, so I was unable to sleep. The staff did not comp me an extra night or give me free parking, nothing to appease me, so I have to give this hotel a 1 out of 5. Thanks a lot, not.

The pictures didn’t look so bad. It looked older but clean. When I got there the downstairs was nice, but getting off the elevator the hallways wreaked of marijuana and the hallways were extremely small that I could barely fit the cart through them. The rugs were really dirty and ripped in the hall. My room was clean, however, it smelled like whoever stayed before me was smoking cigarettes in the room. This is an issue because I am an asthmatic and these smells are irritants. Thankfully we didn’t stay long in our rooms because we had other plans or it would’ve been miserable. My moms room next door wreaked of marijuana too and her bed was sunken in and uncomfortable for her. We definitely wouldn’t be staying here ever again. The staff at the desk were very nice.

All was satisfactory. This is an aging motel;in obvious need of general upgrade. My mattress was oddly slanted uphill from head to foot.carpets worn and faded. They do a nice job attending to the existing stuff. I like that they do a nice job cleaning! I wonder what it would take to initiate an upgrade...and who would finance it? I doubt many Best western hotels are in this condition......but it's location allows a different standard.

We originally reserved a room for two nights 11/29/24 and 12/1/24 (Friday and Saturday) at the Best Western hotel in Atlantic City, NJ. Upon our late evening arrival, we found the room uncomfortably cold, and the thermostat was not working. We contacted the front desk, and the staff instructed us to adjust the heater unit blower in the room, but that also failed to work. When we informed the front desk again, a staff member personally came to the room and attempted to fix the issue. Despite spending 20 minutes trying to repair the heater, it stopped working again shortly after he left. We requested to be moved to another room, but the staff refused. We then asked

My honest review. The pros and the cons. Pro: The staff was really friendly and helpful. They serve a real breakfast not coffee and donuts. The black out curtains worked very well. Conveniently located six minutes from the beach. The hair dryer was very powerful. The cons: the bathroom door wouldnt shut evenly. Everytime the generator shut off the television would momentarily do the same. The hotel on some nights was very loud. Overall a good experience i will return.

I stay at this hotel all the time but this time it was awful starting with the check-in. The desk clerk was rude and when I asked for a couple of favors like which side I wanted to stay in (even numbered side) he did not want to hear it and totally said he could not do it and I arrived at 2:00 and told to come back because check-in was 4:00. Even for Diamond Members I asked. He said yes.

We stayed here during the 4th of July weekend. From the beginning, the front desk woman who works the morning is extremely rude and arrogant. The lobby was tiny and other people who were staying were arguing with her every time we went through the lobby. The entire hotel is sketchy and not updated whatsoever and they charged us over $700 for a 3 night stay. Pretty pricing for that kind of hotel. Yes, it is a walk to the beach/boardwalk and the room was okay. It’s the only plus mind you. The area is sketchy especially for a family. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. I’ve read many reviews especially on google from months to years ago responding to negative reviews saying they will fix the complaints I stated above. Yet, I can tell you nothing has been done. Spend your money and go to the Showboat, Tropicana, etc.

I enjoyed the convenience of the location. However, my first room had a broken toilet they attempted to fix. We had to be moved to a different room, which had not been cleaned properly. We found food in the pull out bed. Most of the outlets in the room did not work, we had to share 2 outlets(1 of which was faulty) amongst 4 people. The breakfast area was decent, however they would run out of items and you were left with what was available. The lady managing the breakfast area allowed some people to do what they wanted while others had to wait for her. The wait time for waffles were ridiculous and lines were always long.
