Bison Inn & Suites on University

There were bare wires sticking out from the wall in our room. The mattresses were so old and worn out that you could see the wear patterns in them. All of the bedding had stains on it. The pillows were cheap and old and were more like towels than pillows. The pool was out of order. The ice machine was out of order, the coffee machine was out of order. There was not staff at the front desk at all at check out and no one came. I waited for a few minutes, called out several times and ended up just leaving the keys there. I didn't get a receipt and have no idea if they released the hold on my credit card. At check in, they advised not to park near the hotel because because some contractors had been getting paint on customers cars. Back to the room, the carpets were stained, the toilet was dirty and we showered with our flip flops on because of the stains and mold in the shower. Don't waste your time or money with this place. One of the worst places I've ever stayed at.

AVOID! This place is a train wreck! It smells horrible – a combination of urine and cigarette smoke and general filth! Outside the property was filthy, lots of trash, and a general feeling of unsafe. The interior was worse and needs to be gutted. None of the vending machines were working or stocked, the pool is empty, Mattresses laying onto the pool deck stacked 4 to 5 high, urine stains in the carpet with a general deep smell of urine, smoke, and body odor. Do not stay here! There were several people hanging around the property that seemed to have issues so it felt generally unsafe. If I could give this zero stars I would. This property needs to be completely gutted and redone. It’s absolutely filthy! We arrived very late the first night and did not have alternative options. We left the following day and I am hoping Expedia can refund my second night. This is a zero star property.

The pool and hot tube was broken! The place needed to be updated!

They would have to inform you that the pool and jacuzzi do not work

Nothing fancy. They had a pool, but it was drained. They had ice machine, which is always good that function. But it was clean and quiet and everything worked. It was $25 for our dog not $20 like we thought was advertised. The only negative I think would be all of the beer bottles caps in the parking lot.

Water pressure bad. Carpet worn n dirty. Sticky in places. Tv sucks. Staff nice n helpful. Pool n hot tub out of order so its misleading. Cont breafast room all out of order. Not in operation anymore. Shower encloser broken.

Really wanted to use pool and hot tub. This is why I booked this hotel and sign said out for repairs. Too bad site can't tell you this

Newly renovated pool. Room was clean. Easy check-in/check-out. Lots of parking and front desk person was nice and pleasant. Hallways and some furnishings in the room could use some renovating. Starting to look dated and worn out.

The property was not clean. Pool and hot tub down for maintenance.

Very gross room, stained pillow cases and sheets. What looked like a blood stain on the wall of room 122, on the wall against the bed, furthest from the window.

The whole place smelled like cigarettes, the fire extinguisher mount was empty and used as an ashtray. There was trash and food completely covering the floor under the bed, cigarette or mold stains on the sheets, used towels in the bathrooms, and light switches falling off the walls.

Smelled bad. Really dirty, sticky floors. Lots of maintenance needed.

Hotel is in a convenient location. Price was very good. Our non-smoking room was very smokey. The sheets looked like they hadn't been washed in a few stays. The room was overall dirty. They are making upgrades to the lobby, hallways, and maybe rooms, so the hotel will likely be better in the future.

Stay literally anywhere else. This was was terrible, had easy access to the streets i needed to get to for a gig I was doing there, but otherwise yikes. Shower and sink had what looked like shaved hair all over it, the towels were stained or unwashed. There was old food left in the fridge, and the lamp didnt fully stay in the socket, so would keep flickering. Yes the hotels main lobby area looks like ita under construction, so i knew that and was prepared, but the room itself was terrible. Also had to slam the door to even get it to lock/shut properly.

Title: Disappointing Experience at the Rodeway Inn Review: I recently stayed at the Rodeway Inn located at 2202 S University Dr, Fargo, ND 58103, and I must say, it was an absolutely disgusting experience. After spending the night there, I woke up to bed bug bites and discovered bed bugs crawling all over my sheets. It was a horrifying sight and I immediately notified the manager about the issue. To my disappointment, the manager acted as though I was lying and refused to take responsibility for the infestation. I even took pictures of the bed bugs and flipped the mattress to capture the extent of the problem, including the feces left behind by the bed bugs. Despite presenting this evidence, the manager was dismissive and unhelpful. In an attempt to resolve the issue, I requested a refund from the hotel. The manager promised to send an exterminator to verify the presence of bed bugs, but they never followed through or contacted me. When I called them for an update, they denied having any bed bug problem at all, further adding to my disappointment and frustration. I cannot express how disappointed and disgusted I am with the Rodeway Inn located at 2202 S University Dr, Fargo, ND 58103. The lack of concern for the well-being and comfort of their guests is evident in their dismissive attitude and lack of action. It is unacceptable to subject paying customers to such unsanitary and uncomfortable conditions. I strongly advise anyone considering staying at the Rodeway inn

Very dirty around entrances and inside building at the entrances

Upon entering the lobby smelled of urine. When I entered my room, it also smelled foul. Maybe it was the air conditioner desperately needing a new filter, maybe the room wasn't cleaned properly. Everything from the carpet to the walls to the shower was in a sad condition, needing replacement, repainting, or remodeling. On the plus side, I had a quiet night at this property, the continental breakfast had warm food options, too (thumbs up for that), and there are plenty of restaurants within a 5 min drive around the area. And the staff I interacted with was also courteous and prompt.

Walked in to strong odor of Marijuana throughout bulding. Room was disgusting, dirty and broken. Left and checked into different hotel.

The room was almost completely void of furnishings

We stayed 3 nights out of the 4 paid for. The only reason we did not stay the fourth night was due to some family issues at home. The hotel was okay and we would have stayed the fourth night. That being said, I brought cleaning products with me because of the reviews I read and used them on the shower otherwise it was clean enough. Walked in sandals all the time but, it did not smell. The beds were the worst thing about the room. Clean, yes, but had a hill in the middle you would roll off of. Staff were good and breakfast was simple but, fresh. Excellent coffee. There were a few sketchy people around but, we never felt in danger, just aware of our surroundings. Overall, for the price we paid it was an okay place to sleep.

The hallway was dirty, trash on floor. The property was run down. The pool was closed. The room was musky smelling. The bathroom sink cabinet was falling apart and shower was moldy. The window did not lock, it had a board on track to keep from opening. It was noisy all night from thin walls and lots of homeless traffic.

Really bad experience. People outside of the hotel in the parking lot drinking up until 5am And to much noise around. Also I reserved a non-smoking room and when I got the room it did smell nothing but smoke from cigarettes and who knows what else.

This place is nothing like the photos. First there was no microwave. Read the fine print and saw it says, "on request." Okay. I decided I can use the one in the lobby. There is no chair in the room, just a bed. The bed is extremely squishy, like you sit on it and it folds in half squishy. There were some unsavory characters wandering the halls who didn\'t seem to be totally lucid. There was also a person speaking loudly on his cell phone in the hallway outside my room for a prolonged time period. But okay. The real kicker was this. We were having some dinner in the room. My daughter is five and wanted to eat some soup. There\'s nothing for her to sit on except the bed and I was worried she\'d spill the soup on the bed. So I go to front desk. "Very sorry to bother you but is there anyway we could get any kind of chair in the room, even a folding chair." Front desk guy gives me a dirty look. "No. There isn\'t." I explained the reasoning, that I don\'t want my 5 y.o. to eat her soup on the bed. Guy says, "Maybe you can pretend you\'re having a picnic and sit on the floor." Really? Never mind that the carpet is so nasty with ground-in dirt and stains that I don\'t even want to walk on it with my shoes off, let alone sit on it, it\'s extremely disrespectful to tell someone to eat on the floor with their 5 year old when they\'re paying a decent amount of money to stay at a motel. Even a budget motel should be able to accommodate this request. Won\'t stay here again.

Room was clean although the shower base looked quite worn out. The A/C was cool which we liked. There was no plug for USB ports. Didnt have a table & chair. WiFi was good.

Hall carpeting torn, sagging mattress, two flat pillows, sink barely drains. shower door doesn't close so water puddles on the floor, hotel towels(that is not a complement), no hand towel. And no chair in the room.

Very simple. No chairs or desk/table in the room. Good internet. Coffee maker and soap/shampoo were the ONLY amenities, but the bed and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast was ample, but not extravagent, limited to bagels & breads, yogurt, coffee and juice. About what you'd expect for the low price.

Terrible tooke standing in the lobby for 45 minutes just to get checked in. Was supposed to a single king, got a double twin. Room stunk. TV didn't work.

The place was not terrible but more than once the cleanliness was at scrutiny. The check in clerk was off-putting in that he put off check-in us in to complain about a cleaning staff marking rooms as clean when they really weren't and various concerns within the hotel

This hotel was dangerous, awful, filthy, terrible. The rooms were beyond anything I could have ever imagined. The smell of smoke and cigarettes was so strong it hurt our eyes and nostrils. We tried two rooms, and things were just as bad in the second room as the first. The fire alarms and smoke alarms were not even working. This hotel should be removed from your list of options. It was beyond anything I could have imagined. I am expecting a full refund for the room we had to leave in order to be safe for our overnight in Fargo. The only relatively decent experience was the front desk woman who checked us in. She did the best she could to try and help things but even her kindness was no match for the beyond horrific experience we just had.

Upon arrival found out that they did not do daily housekeeping due to limited staff. The hot tub is broken indefinitely and you could see the bottom of the pool needed to be cleaned. Our room has someone else's hair in the shower and the floor had candy, chips and teddy grams on it that was under the A/C and between the bed and wall. We were able to hear every conversation in the hallway or outside our room in the parking lot. Only stayed here because the hotels jacked up their rates for the Fargo Marathon, will not stay here again.

The service we received here was probably the worst we’ve ever had. We checked in and the man what was there wasn’t very polite and had absolutely no manners at all. We got to our room and realized it wasn’t what we expected. I resvered a double room, double bed. from my understanding that would mean a double as in 2 beds n they would be double beds. The floors were gross i wouldn’t walk on them even with my shoes on. The bed had stains on the outside of the blankets. We didn’t even stay we looked at the nasty state of the room and reviewed how we were treated and though for my family’s safety we would be best staying else where. Also we booked this hotel as we saw it had a pool and hot tub and both were closed. For the money we paid and after a long day all we wanted was a clean place to stay and rest. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel even to my worst enemy.

No one was in the lobby to greet us. Took a long time to get someone to help even check in. Then he took my id and didn't give it back. The next person in called at 11;30 pm after we were asleep to say they found it in the copier. Then drunk people across the hall were screaming and having a party in the parking lot. Front desk had to come banging on their door to get them to shut up the 2nd time it happened. Not a pleasant experience with paper thin walls.

Checked in there us new owners. staff very pleasant and helpful and wanted to make the room was to our satisfaction. Very satisfied

There was no proper security around the building. There people gathering around one of the entrances drinking beer. No body really felt safe about entering that entrance

Nothing fancy but we were in town for a concert and literally everything was booked. We were thankful to have a comfy bed and a free breakfast. Which again, was nothing fancy. Grab a yogurt, bagel, muffin, juice etc. The place could use some cleaning and updating. The hot tub was out of order. The staff was nice. For the price this was an ok place to stay super close to the Fargodome.

Very convenient from 94 just coming into Fargo. Good restaurant next door. Facility was older but was clean! Staff was great every time I had interaction with them. Rates were excellent. Would book again if traveling that way.

The corridors reeked of smoke and urine. There was old furniture overflowing in the dumpster outside and a random chair in the hallway. There were people standing around near almost every entry. I felt unsafe and had to look outside several times during the night to check on my car. The woman who checked me in was nice, but the man who checked me out could not even be bothered to stand up. The coffee tasted like water and I was afraid to eat anything or use the ice machine. I would definitely pay a little more to get a decent and safe room next time.

Good value location.

Next to Randy’s cafe made it an easy meal choice. We thought the rates were good. Fairly bleak amenities but a good night’s sleep.

The amount of police in and out and driving thru. Makes it feel alot like an active crime scene

Upon check-in saw that the pool was closed for maintenance. Driven 3 1/2 hrs to be there for a swimming get-a-way with our two young children who were pretty disappointed. No compensation or apologies offered. Room was smelly and carpet was damp. Breakfast was oatmeal, bagels, toast, no butter. Called the front desk for one extra pillow and was basically told "fat chance but will see what I can do" and never heard anything or received one. Poor value for the cost.

No info on website that pool and hot tub were closed. Continental breakfast was luke warm at best and it sucked because itcwas biscuits and gravy! Only 2 yowedls in room and was booked for 4!!

The first room we were assigned had not yet been cleaned. Our new room had hair in the shower and a used condom behind the bathroom door. Floor was dirty. Several people are having a loud conversation, laughing, screaming, and swearing in the hallway outside of our room in the middle of the night. Finally the woman next to us opened her door and told them to get out. The only breakfast items available were toast, coffee, and juice. However, the front desk lady was very nice and helpful. And the beds were super comfortable.

Liked the breakfast

The toliet was leaking in the middle of the night. In the morning many people were in line at the front also making complaints about their plumming. Smelled like mold. The breakfast was decent but kept running out of eggs and having to wait. The orange and apple juice wqs giving out water.

SMELL! the whole place reeked of commercial cleaner, in the room, hallways and common areas. There was so much, you could taste it. - Pretty much everything was worn, carpets, linens, paint. - No phone or clock in the room. - Very limited plug ins and no charging stations. - Limited towels in the room. - Heater unit was very noisy, woke me up at night when it would start buzzing. - TV remote was missing from room, maintenance replaced it promptly. The 6 to 9 am free Continental breakfast was nearly gone when I got there at 8am. Basically nothing left.

What we did not like was the lack of food at the breakfast, arrived at 8:30 and most of it was gone, so we went and found our own breakfast. This hotel hosts many people. Not enough food was made.
