Across reviews for Hampton Inn Hutchinson, travelers frequently praise friendly, accommodating staff, clean and updated rooms, and a generally good complimentary breakfast, with convenient access to local attractions, shops, and restaurants enhancing short stays and road trips.

Recurring drawbacks include noise from nearby trains or Highway 61, thin pillows or firm mattresses for some, and intermittent maintenance issues like finicky thermostats, doors that do not latch, and occasional equipment problems. Hotel is being remodeled, we knew this so were not surprised but some checking in did not and were upset there was no pool or fitness room. Everything was new in the room, so very clean - big bonus but the thermostat was not working so it was very hot in the room - opened the window but with plastic covering them from the remodel it did not help much. Great breakfast.

We had an emergency situation and needed to switch hotels last minute. I called around 9:15 PM to confirm our reservation, and Ashland at the front desk was incredibly kind and helpful. The next morning, my family let me know their stay was great—they were given a late checkout with no issues, and the breakfast was good. The only minor downside was that the entrance to the hotel was a bit hard to find at night due to limited signage.

toilet didn't work, didn't want to move 3 kids, self, wife, dog after 10pm to a smaller room, so they gave us keys to the next door available room so we could walk back and forth as needed for bathroom. inconvenient, but things happen and it worked as viable solution. not a fan of a $50 nonrefundable pet fee. if pet is well-mannered and no mess, shouldn't be charged extra, should be part of a visiting family that has paid for the stay. I understand if damage or not trained and extra cost to hotel, but wasn't the case for us. regardless, would recommend hotel and staff and use again in the future if staying in Hutchinson.

Bathroom door lock broken Elevator has a sign suggesting using the stairs due to it being “inconsistent “ I’m not sure exactly what that means when they put us on the 3rd floor and directed us to the elevator with no explanation at all The elevator also had a mastery liquid leaking from the ceiling. The peep hole on the door was so loose you could unscrew it from the outside of the door. My husband fixed that himself Staff was friendly and that’s the only thing that saved this stay.

The entry door to the room had a half inch gap when closed that you could see into the hallway or others could see into the room. The curtains near the window were stained from the ac unit and the window was unlocked with access to the roof of the front of the canopy. Being on the second floor it was easy to see footprints from people being on the roof and accessing the rooms. This is the first time I have ever used items in the room to barricade the door. After a long evening of travel, I did not seek a room change as it seemed like most of the rooms on the floor were set up similarly and occupancy was very low. My employer booked this stay, so it is what it is.

TV didn’t work properly, move to another room and the bathroom door didn’t close properly. Just gave up and went to bed. It’s an older building and things are going to wear out but they should be fixed. I didn’t get the sense that building maintenance was pertinent to management.

Stay was good, staff were excellent. Thermostat was finicky temperature didn't seem to matter only hot or cold. Temp was set to 67, but if it was on heat then it would run regardless turning the room into a sweat box, whereas flipping it to cool it would be a freezer, didn't seem to care about stopping at correct degree. Pillows were pieces of paper so thin and did not maintain shape
