Helpful, courteous staff, room was clean, pool clean, will definitely be staying here again. Conveniently located close to food, gas station, freeways etc… my only complaint was I wish the fire pit was working but it was under maintenance. It isn’t a 5 star but comes close I definitely recommend especially for the price!

Good spot for the price and close to shopping and some good eateries. My only complaint is I had a room the third floor and the ice machine did not work went down to the second floor and same thing . It was kinda funny because met a couple on the elevator in search of ice as well. Finally the first floor had ice, a bit inconvenient. Other than that nice hotel to stay at .

We had a decent stay overall. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made check-in and interactions pleasant. The location is great — in a quiet area with easy access to the highway, and within a 5–10 minute drive to restaurants, stores, and near LAX. The free on-site parking was a big plus. There is a pool and on-site laundry is available, we did not use. They have some breakfast options but not free. That said, our room left something to be desired. While it was generally clean, it felt like it could use a deep cleaning — there were smudges on the wall, a spiderweb in the corner, and the mini-fridge hadn’t been cleaned inside. On the bright side, the bed was comfortable, which made for a good night's sleep. One suggestion: please consider removing or disabling the ringing sound from the elevator. Our room was close to it, and the constant ringing every time it was used was disruptive, especially at night. Overall, this hotel has potential with a few improvements.

This was property was very quiet. Enjoyed the free parking and location was awesome. The hotel would be five stars if they were just cleaned better. There was hair all over the soap and shampoo dispensers. Hair on the shower walls and mold in each corner of the shower. The headboard of the bed was greasy and hand prints all over the dresser/chest. It could use a deep cleaning for sure.

There was long, visible hair all in the shower and two wet towels already there when we entered the room. Not vacuumed, the pillow case smelled of tropical shampoo and it looks like the only thing cleaning crew did was make the bed.

FC person was awesome.We were given the Handicap room which had not been updated in a very long time. The entire bathroom grout was moldy and dirty. No room next to the mini sink to put any stuff. We went and bought sanitary wipes to wipe down the room. as it was very dirty. Broken blinds, broken lights, old bad smelling soaps in shower. We called and asked to switch to another queen room and he switched us for the 2 more nights we were staying there,. He was awesome and very understanding. He switched us to another 2 queen room and it was night and day difference. Super clean room new bathroom with everything updated completely different shower soaps and shampoos. It was crazy how different the rooms were and thought about the injustice of putting handicapped people in the worst rooms I have seen in a long time. However more lights that did not work and paper thin walls where our neighbors were screaming at each other all night keeping our kids up and scared. Paid extra for the "continental breakfast" no details on line and it was kind of a joke. A small cereal, pastry and drink. No real healthy options. And was demeaned when I asked for decaf coffee. I stay in many hotels for work and that was a first that they didnt have decaf coffee. Motels I stay in have decaf! Have a lot more work there over the next few motnhs and will not be staying there again. Was told pool was heated when I called and there was deadbolts around it and was unable to access.

The room's carpet was not well vacuned. We found trash on the floor. There was a hair on one of the beds. Everytine we used the bathtub it got clogged. Overall it looked like a hotel that needs maintenance. Tha hallway carpests were very dirty. Sorry not interested in coming back.

This was a pretty good location. We stayed for 5 days. The balcony rooms are a plus. One thing that is needed is a remodel or upgrade to the rooms and the hotel in general. You can definitely tell it is dated and things need a refresh. If this property were to get a basic renovation it would definitely raise the occupancy rate and profitability. The hallways need to be brighter and more welcoming. They are dimly lit and the paint is on the darker side and the carpet needs a refresh. The rooms are nice size have a refrigerator and desk with separate rolling table. The drawers on the dresser were broken and the bottom one did not close properly. Also the curtains on the sliding glass door need to be replaced and definitely not with white ones. The ones in the room I was given were definitely no longer clean white but more of a dingy of white with smudging. The sliding door also didn’t properly latch which could possibly be a safety hazard. One plus is it is right off the freeway and located not far from LAX, Knott’s Berry Farm, Universal Studios, Top Golf, Manhattan Beach. Overall I would possibly stay here again if I need to be close to the area for work. But if they made some small improvements it could be a go to location because I have to be in the area a few times per year.

The only reason Sonesta does not get five stars is that the place is dated. It could definitely use a renovation but outside of that the staff are excellent and the room was better than average. Parking is free and it has a good size lot but fills by the evening. Not much nearby which is why I gave the "Area around the property" only 3 stars. The suite wasn't large but good enough for the three of us since it was 1 King and sofa bed. Perfect! Much better than two full size beds or even two Queens. We visit family in the Torrance area so we will be staying there regularly since the pricing is much better than nearby hotels we have stayed at in the past.

Well priced for the area and for the size of the room, which is generous. It's a no-frills hotel but soaps, body lotion, etc. are all good and in easy to read bottles. The room was really quiet, the bed comfortable, and it had a small sofa which was nice - and the large screen tv pulls out & rotates for easy viewing. Overall good value.

Pros：the room is spacious, located just off the highway and easy to find. Cons: very bad wifi signal in my room. Complained several times and was provided with a 800 number to call the service company. Issue was still not resolved after 3 days. Carpet is dirty and badly needs deep cleaning.

I turned on the heater in my room, but during the night, it suddenly made a loud noise and emitted a small amount of smoke. I was frightened and immediately turned it off. As it was late and I was very sleepy, I didn’t report it to the front desk at the time, but I informed them after checking out. I was worried it might lead to a fire, so I couldn’t sleep well that night.

We had to go through a termite fumigation process on our residence just a couple of miles away and opted to stay at a local hotel/inn while the process took place. The Sonesta Select was my first option due to its convenient proximity to our residence and to work. We had stayed many years prior when the property was a Courtyard By Marriott establishment and found the layout exactly as we had remembered. Our experiences with your staff from Michelle at check-in to our last young man on our check out date as well as Rafael on a telephone call to the fellows who provided our morning coffee and small morning bites were excellent. I was truly impressed with your staff for their courtesy, kindness, and helpfulness. They greeted us at every encounter with a smile and a meaningful willing to assist us. I would look to Sonesta Select Torrance again if ever I needed to go through this same ordeal. I would also recommend it to friends and family who may come through town to visit as well. Thank you for the nice experience during a very hectic few days.

I would have given this stay 5 stars, except we had to move rooms here too. Luckily, we only had to move 2 rooms over instead of one floor up. Again, AC issue, it didn’t work but at least we found out right away. The room’s doorway light was out too. The hotel management really do need to inspect their rooms, freeze availability and flag problem rooms with “need to fix” status. Anywho, the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

I requested for the room to be cleaned and towels exchanged because we went swimming and i even tidied up but needed the trash taken out and towels replaced. Upon returning late at night none of it was done and the main desk told me they could provide bedding to remake myself and towels.

Conveniently close to LAX making it a must for a quick nights rest before a long haul flight. For me personally what made this stay extremely enjoyable was the fact that I misplaced/left my watch behind in our room. Contacted the property and they were kind enough to ship the watch back to me within days. Truly appreciative of the integrity of staff and a management alike. Thank you so much truly !

Nice enough hotel; friendly staff. Nothing exceptional for either good or bad, though. Location and access was near to the family we were visiting. We had a room facing inward, towards the pool area, and didn’t get an objectionable amount of noise from the nearby highway or the busy road the hotel faces. Definitely an older hotel, but well kept up.

I stayed at this hotel for the weekend with my best friend. This hotel is located in a convenient area in terms of food and gas. There is also a Walmart about two blocks away. Depending on traffic it takes about 20-30 minutes to get to LAX and Long Beach Airport. The room itself was standard. It was clean and staff were very friendly. Parking is free. I took off one star because we paid extra for daily breakfast which only consisted of coffee or juice, a pastry, and cereal. It definitely was not worth the extra $25 per night, especially with the nearby food options.

It was next to the interstate and on a busy road so there was a fair amount of traffic noise. However, it was very close to everything we wanted to do. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was a little skimpy. There was yogurt, cereal,fruit cups, and parfaits. There was no hot food without purchase. The coffee was tasty.There was food that could be purchased. For fancier coffee, it could be purchased and was good. Overall a good experience.

The hotel is just 20 min drive from LAX and is located by an exit on I405. It is very quiet neighbourhood. Supermarkets are within 5-10 min drive. The location is very convenient. Staff is very friendly and the rooms was very big and clean.
