The property is great but the renovations make things difficult. The whole facade is being renovated. Also the signs say “in case of emergency use stairs”, and the stairs have a sign saying “stairs are out of order”. The staff said “just use the back stairs” but l did not know about the back stairs and there was no signage to indicate an alternative route in the event of an emergency. The room was comfortable, great bed!

We were 3 hrs early so decided to wait 30mins so they could get the room ready. Accepted additional $30 but later found out 3/4 of the hotel was empty and we were put beside the mechanical room. Super loud so we decided to make the best of it and go to the pool. 10 mins in we got kicked out and were all told it will take an hour. We came back and they said it was shut down for the rest of the day. So from 4pm on we basically had nothing to do, complete waste of time and employees couldnt answer any questions as there was no management on site. I emailed the manager Luis and no reply not even a sorry, brutal hotel.

Located in a real busy area, with cars parked everywhere along the street, the sign to parking garage is not clearly visible. However the gentleman at the front desk was pleasant and check in was quick. The room I was given was in a great location, breakfast was a plenty and delicious. The housekeepers went the extra mile to help me take out of trash bags, and give direction. The only thing that keeps me from giving this hotel a 4 star is the fact that the pool was closed for my 2nd day there, “indefinitely”. I got back from Universal Studios, wanting to relax with 2 children, and found that the pool had been closed, without notice. I would not have booked 3days-2 nights, had I known this prior.

Spiders everywhere, room smelled nasty and musky, carpet on one side of room was wet/damp and probably explains the smell, the bedsheets were itchy like something was crawling, TV didn’t have movie options nor was it smart TV to hook our own device up, breakfast setup was horrible and no room to navigate and it was a long & slow line to get breakfast but feels like it could have been preventable. Overall, we would have left same night if it was refundable. The room days nonsmoking but bathroom smelled really bad like people smoked in there.

On October 12 2025 at approximately 930 pm.. Myself Steven and my beautiful Girlfriend Dayja Booked a last minute Hotel stay at Comfort Inn Santa Monica. Use the Hotels.com Website. After receiving our room key for room 115. We entered the room and noticed a smell of mildew like there was a previous water leak. And the television didn’t work / couldn’t find a signal. The Comfort inn staff provided us with a new room #122. My girlfriend and I both physically, Visibly and mentally exhausted. Got in bed and went to sleep but can smell a bad smell coming from the restroom. my girlfriend Dayja woke up about 4am to use the restroom and noticed there was a woman satay napkin/ Bloody Pad in the trash can that smelled very bad .. also what looks to be spit in the sink. She was very upset and concerned about the cleaning staff not keeping completely cleaning the room. After speaking to hotel staff we were referred to contact Hotels.com for help

The room we had was a bit run down and cramped. Water damage in ceiling/wall, huge gap under the door, and room wasn't large enough to unfold and leave in place a large suit case. (we had a 2 queen room) We had to shove it under the sink and it didn't exactly fit there either. We were on second floor and there was a nice patio area to bring things back and eat at,

The condition of the room was really poor. The door had obviously been kicken in at some point. The door lock slide was broken. The door barely latched. The hair dryer didn't work. The towel bar in the bathroom was broken. The outlet was installed behind the mirror so you couldn't use it. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything. The pool area is fine, but looks beat up. It feels more like a midwestern roadside motel.

Our room was very outdated and in a completely separate building than the main hotel. It looks like they bought the next door property and just added it on. We specifically sought out a family suite to provide quiet and privacy for a delicate sleeper in our family. The room had two non operational vents between the main room and bedroom that were basically open holes. All light and noise came through, there was no way to close them. The bathroom was all very small and offered no privacy.

Expedia mentioned that the property was under construction only after I booked the room. The the thermostat was not working. Had to ask for extra blankets. The furniture low motel quality. The place is actually fine but extremely over priced. The staff was extremely rude. I called down at 8pm to see about getting more towels and the guy on the phone started yelling at me that I had to come down to the lobby to get the towels and he wasn't going to bring them up to me.....ummm ok that's all I was asking... can I get some more towels? I didn't say can you bring me up towels. I wouldn't have reviewed at all if the guy wasn't so rude on the phone.

First of all,my thanks to the staff, the girls that assisted in checking me in. Thanks for the gift bag, the hotel never disappoints,I stay there always for work, clean, safe, quiet and they have the best breakfast, it’s the Apple juice. And a nice clean pool. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

We staryed there for 3 nights, after 2 days i asked for housekeeping, they said they are short staffed, they can provide only new supplies no cleaning. But when we came back in the evening no supplies given either. Very bad service

This hotel is ON Santa Monica Boulevard. Will it knock your socks off? No. Will you find anything to complain about? Also no. I REALLY appreciate this type of hotel - good location, cheaper than other places around, no frills, maybe slightly dated facilities, but staff doing well to keep the place nice. It's a well-run business. We'll be back.

I always enjoy staying there, the staff is very polite, friendly, the hotel is quiet, safe, good breakfast, they have the best apple juice. It’s in the center of everything. Close the beach, 3rd street promenade and train station.

Excellent housekeeping service. Very clean. Comfortable beds and linens for a budget hotel. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Even though open until 10 am even if you came in at 9 out of bananas and bagels. Should replenish throughout service hours. That is why I gave it 4 stars.

The overall stay was very nice and fairy priced. The only issue i had was the breakfast in the mornings. It gets too crowded in a very small room and the food is very cheap and no quality..other than that it was a pleasant place to stay

The room for the breakfast is really small. We were told by the woman who works in the breakfast room to remove the stroller of our baby and to go and eat outside. It was raining and it was cold and our baby was sick. She was very unpleasant.
